Papyrus Compiler Fix For 64-bit Systems???
Yippee38 replied to Anubitz's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
No. That's not correct. I have Windows 7, and I tried the one Adnaone linked over and over and never got it working. The reason is because that's for .NET version 4. Most of us should be on .NET 4.5.x, and therefore, that one won't work. Instead, use this one: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/bg162891.aspx That one says it's for Windows 8.1, but if you look at the prerequisites, it says Windows 7. The important part is the .NET version. You need the SDK for the version of .NET you have installed. When I tried the one I linked, it installed perfectly, the first time. I do have a question though. Steam has updated my Creation Kit twice in the past couple of weeks. Do I need to do this fix again? -
Oh duh! I totally forgot that I could do that. Thanks for hitting me upside the head with a brick (figurativel). I know that the mod load order is critical. I was asking about the order in which the mods were installed. Of course, after they are installed they will be properly sorted. Ah. Ok. I'll have to take a look at that. Thanks for clarifying.

Smashing them? I don't understand.

I finally finished installing SR:LE. AWESOME! I never played with the survival mods before, and they're fun as hell. It looks fantastic. I didn't like the looks of Vividian from the screenshots, but in game it looks great. The darks are appropriately dark (you were right Neovalan). However, the people look like crap. IMO, they look like they are in a game that is 10 years old. To that end, I'd like to change some mods. I want to change the skin being used in Mature Skin Texture and Body. I think I can just disable the one I've got, and install it again via MO. Since I'd only be changing the textures, I'm guessing there won't be any issue. The same is true of adding Coverwomen. It's strictly textures, so I'm guess that won't be any problem. However, I'd like add ApachiiSkyHair. Since it has an .esm in it, would I need to create a new bashed patch? I know I'd have to look at conflicts and resolve those on my own. I'd also like to add Inhabitants of Skyrim (Character Presets and NPC Overhaul). Both of those mods have .esps, so I suspect that in addition to doing my own conflict resolution, I'd also have to create a new bashed patch. Is that correct? Also, I just want to make sure I understand MO correctly. My understanding is that install order of mods, when using MO, doesn't matter at all because each mod is kept separate. Is that correct? I mean, if I add those mods now, as long as I get conflict resolution done right, it shouldn't cause any problems because I'm installing after everything else. Right? Yippee38

Suggestion for SRLE perfection
Yippee38 replied to Drakoktonos's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Agreed. I was excited to play SR:LE finally, and then was horribly disappointed with the look of the people in game. The game looks awesome, but the people look like they came from a game 10 years old. -

TES5Edit showing sort problem
Yippee38 replied to Yippee38's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Thanks Neovalen. That fixed it. I had to replace the RSPatch.esp in the ...\mods\Real Shelter Patch Template directory with the one from the .zip file. Then I was able to create the patch again. After doing that, TES5Edit stopped giving that error. I'm getting so close. Can't wait to play again! -
TES5Edit showing sort problem
Yippee38 replied to Yippee38's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Looking at it again, it really looks like the instructions will leave you with two Vividian ENB.esp files. The guide has you install Vividian ENB - Vivid Version and install it. That creates a Vividian ENB.esp. Then, when you do the merge, you create another Vividian ENB.esp. The guide doesn't tell you which to keep and which to get rid of. You also do not end up with a Vividian - Extended Weathers.esp AFAICT. -
I finished installing all of the mods in the SR:LE today. When installing, I ran into two problems installing in the order indicated. First was trying to do the Merge on Vividian - Weather - Lighting Enhancement. It was coming up with an error about Wearable Lanterns. There's a note in the guide explaining that Wearable Lanterns needs to be installed to do the merge. As a result, I didn't do the merge or create the BOSS Userlist items for that mod. The second was Real Shelter. I got a message about BFT - Carriages and Ships when trying to merge. Again, I installed as indicated, but didn't do the merge or BUM additions. After I installed the Compatibility Patches, I went back and did the merge on Vividian Weather, then set up the BUM entries. I did the same for Real Shelter. Both worked fine (after I fixed on BUM entry I had screwed up). I made the post install .ini tweaks, and ran BOSS. It came back with no warnings. The next step is Conflict Resolution. I started watching the video (I've watched it before) and went to set up the filter settings per the video. However, when I loaded TES5Edit with all active mods selected, I got an error message saying: [00:08] Background Loader: Fatal: <Exception: "RSPatch.esp" requires master "Vividian - Extended Weathers.esp" to be loaded before it.> Now I'm really confused. I think I screwed up the merge somehow. When I finished, I ended up with: Vividian ENB - Weather and Lightning Enhancement - Vivid Color Version.......61 Vividian - Extended Weathers....................................................................62 Vividian ENB.............................................................................................63 Vividian ENB - Vividi Version Merge.............................................................64 I've moved all of the .esps specified in the merge into Optional ESPs through MO (the first two in the above list contained those .esps). I've also unchecked those two mods in the left side of MO as the merge is based on those two. However, I now have two Vividian ENB.esps. One is in the "...\Mod Organizer\mods\Vividian ENB" directory from the Vividian ENB mod listed at 63 above, and one is in the "...\Mod Organizer\mods\Vividian ENB - Vivid Version Merge" directory from the Merge listed as 64 above. I tried disabling the Vividian ENB mod, but I still get the same error (of course, because the Vividian - Extended Weathers.esp file has been merged, and the original file disabled). So, I see two problems: 1) I have two Vividian ENB.esps. I think maybe the one in the Vividian ENB directory should be deleted. <?> 2) I have no Vividian - Extended Weathers.esp because I merged it (and other files) into the merge, and disabled them. Should the merge have been renamed to Vividian - Extended Weathers.esp after the merge? What did I do wrong?

Improved Closed-faced helmets version
Yippee38 posted a question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Installing SR:LE and I got to the Improved Closed-faced Helmets mod. The guides says: Version: 1.12 (Legendary) The problem is that version 1.12 Legendary says: Improved Closefaced Helmets - hood-less DP masks as circlets (Legendary version) Hood-less dragon priest masks as circlets thanks to Pantheress - MAIN FILE IS REQUIRED - Fixed missing textures ---- V1.5 NOT SUPPORTED YET ---- you can still use them. But you wont get the new dragon priest meshes and fixes. The rest is fine So to install 1.12, I need to install the main file, but the main file is version 1.57, which it says is not supported yet. So how do I install this? Yippee38 -
Nights and Dungeon lighting in SR:LE
Yippee38 replied to Yippee38's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Cool. Thanks guys! Sounds great! I will continue and check it out. If necessary, I'll try to Vividian dark. I haven't gotten that far in the guide, so I didn't know there were multiple versions. -
Nights and Dungeon lighting in SR:LE

Ok then. I'll go with the suggested installation. If I have any questions about darkening it up appropriately, I'll post back here. Thanks for your input! -
Nights and Dungeon lighting in SR:LE
Yippee38 replied to Yippee38's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I will be using Vividian Vibrant. I normally use SkyRealism because it provides, IMO the correct level of darkness in dungeons, and is better than most at night outdoors. It also has, IMO very realistic coloring. However, I'm going to use the guide as it is set up. I can deal with oversaturated colors from Vividian Vibrant, but dungeons being too bright, I can't abide. I've tweaked the ENB settings in SkyRealism to lower the ambient lighting levels indoors at night. However, I don't want to make everything darker, just the dark areas (shadows mostly). Can I accomplish that with just the ENB tweaks? -
In my install, I've gotten to the point of installing CoT. The instructions say to install just the main files. Looking through the guide, I see that a couple of mods impact the lighting in the game. I love ELFX, but I've never used some of the other mods (like CoT) before. When I play the game, I like dark areas to be really dark. I mean, if I'm wandering around the forest at night with the moon hidden by the clouds, I think it should be very dark; almost need a torch dark. The same for underground. I want the dark areas underground to be almost pitch black. If there is ambient lighting, it obviously shouldn't be that dark. However, some of the dungeons have areas where no light would reach (tunnels and stuff). Those areas should be almost pitch black. I want to have to use a torch/lantern. Does SR:LE achieve those levels of darkness, or should I install one of the darker options in CoT? If I do install the darker options of CoT, will that conflict with (or be overwritten by) later mods?

Thanks DanimalTwo! Great idea!

Ok. I guess it's just me misunderstanding the way the files are versioned on that mod. Since it doesn't list it as an old version, I figured it was version 2 also. Thanks.

I just started installing SR:LE today. I decided to follow the guide 100% even though there are a few things I'd change in a "perfect" game for me. I wanted to try it as intended before I got into any tweaking. Anyway, I just discovered that Ragdoll Paralysis is listed as version 1 and the current version is 2 on the Nexus. No old versions are available. No updates have been made on the Nexus page since 2013. The .zip file has a -1 in it, so I'm guessing that's where it came from. However, MO is only seeing the main file version. I don't know if this is correct or just an oversight, so I thought I'd mention it. I'm new to the forums (relatively), so maybe this has been discussed with other mods before and I missed it.

Oh. Ok. Do this: cd \ [Enter] cd Progra[tab] (I mean, hit the tab key at that point.) It should fill in "Program Files" with the quotes. Backspace out the last, hit the space bar and (x86) and hit [tab] again. That should fill in "Program Files (x86)". Hit [Enter]. Your command prompt should now say, "C:\Program Files (x86)". cd Microsoft SD[tab] [Enter] cd Window[tab] [Enter] cd v8.[tab] [Enter] cd bin[tab] [Enter] cd NET[tab] [Enter] That should get you there.

I was trying to do this myself today too. This is the file that I installed: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8279 I can install it just fine, but I don't end up with a "Microsoft SDK" folder. I tried just installing the .NET options, and installing the default settings. It gives the option to select the "Destination Folder for Tools" and the "Destination Folder for Samples". The default locations for those are: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1" and "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\Samples" respectively. However, when I try to navigate to those folders, the Microsoft SDKs folder doens't exist. I'm guessing this is why they OP is having the same problem.

My wife always says, "I think you like modding that game more than you like actually playing it." She may be right.

As I mentioned in my other thread, my new install is crashing randomly. This build was a modified Skyrim Revisited install and the details can be found in my other post here. That has the details of mods installed, system specs, etc. These crashes have been seemingly random and sporadic. However, things have gotten a bit strange. Last night I played Skyrim for hours without a crash. In fact, at one point I had Skyrim running, plus Teamspeak and World of Tanks. I figured Skyrim would probably crash when I ran it with WoT running, but it didn't. I wasn't doing anything in WoT, just had it loaded in the background, while I was actively playing Skyrim (it's a WoT Clan Wars commitment thing). Today I have nothing running besides Steam and Skryim, but it's crashing a lot. This morning I started playing Skyrim and it's been crashing very frequently. I've had 5 crashes in the past 2 hours. On top of that, my last save game will not load (I tried it twice). I've been looking at the Papyrus logs, but I haven't seen any common things that looks like it could be the problem, except for the two logs from when I tried to load my last save. Those are a bit similar, though I suspect that's because the game locked up in the exact same process. When I was working with rootsrat on my other CTD problem I started saving my log files from crashes and writing down what I was doing when I got the crash, to try to see if there is a pattern. Here is the list of my 12 most recent crashes, when they happened, and what I was doing in game at the time. 1 - 8/15 @ 9:20am - Outside White River Wash. Just selected "You could be better dressed" from the UFO options on Lydia. When I exited her dialog menu CTD. 2 - 8/15 @ 10:18am - I was trading with Lydia. I gave her a helmet from my inventory. When I switched to her inventory CTD. 3 - 8/15 @ 10:20am - Exited the Bannered Mare at night. Vampire and thralls entered city at the main gate. I went to sprint after them CTD (don't remember if it crashed when I hit Alt to sprint, or W to run). 4 - 8/15 @ 10:55am - Entered the Bannered Mare during daytime - CTD 5 - 8/16 @ 1:01pm (only crash yesterday) - Was riding horses back to Whiterun from the direction of the Western Watchtower along the road. Got attacked by a skeever. I dismounted and attacked it. It was mostly dead and ran away. I chased it (sprinting). It ran through the farm field toward the stables. As I approached the stables, CD 6 - 8/17 @ 10:25am - Finished Swindler's Den Last night. Have to betray Saarhi (or whatever her name is) today. Was selling and crafting my loot. Walked up to the grindstone outside War Maiden and got a Windows message saying the game had crashed (asking do I want to check online for a solution or close the program - I closed it). 7 - 8/17 @ 10:56am - Selling to the guy in War Maiden. I had a potion of barter active. I hit Alt to switch between his inventory and mine - CTD. 8 - 8/17 @ 11:28am - I was making leather bracers fast (Enter, Enter, Enter, Enter, etc.). I had one more piece of leather, and one more 2 more leather strips (just enough to make one more). I would have hit 69 skill in Blacksmithing when that last one was made. Hit Enter on the "Are you sure you want to make this" screen and it froze. Had to kill Skyrim via the Task Manager. 9 - 8/17 @ 11:49am - Lydia was relaxing (via the UFO command) in the chair in the loft of Breezehome. I was going to store some stuff in the end table right next to her. I opened it up and had to remove the two wooden plates that were in it. I removed one (don't know why I didn't loot all), and when I looted the second one CTD. 10 - 8/17 @ 12:10pm - I was in Belathor's Shop. I talked to him I clicked on "What have you got for sale?" - CTD. 11 - 8/17 @ 12:12pm - I had saved before going to Belathor's Shop previously. I went to load that save game after crash #10. The game would not load that save. I just got stuck on the loading screen (that shows something with the lore in the lower-right corner). In the save, my character had just finished crafting. I had improved several of my items to epic. I was standing in the street in front of War Maiden, facing the Bannered Mare. 12- 8/17 @ 12:17pm - Same as #11. As you can see, most of my crashes are CTDs. Every once in a while, I'll get the Windows crash message. Every once in a while, the game will just lock up. I'm not really that worried about losing my save game as I was saving like crazy today due to the all the crashes. However, the fact that the save wouldn't load got me worried. This is especially true since I haven't done anything to my game between last night and today. Does anybody have an suggestions on what I should look at/for? BTW, I do have Papy logs for all of those crashes if anybody wants to see them.

CTD opening specific book - Skyrim Revisited
Yippee38 replied to Yippee38's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Looking today, it looks like the creator of the Book Covers mod has released an update. I had the problem because I installed the Compatibility version.
