SRLE Extended

Recommended Posts

Astakos I was using Deadly Combat for I to saw "Nazeen's Dangerous Mods List" and was persaded against including when I actually started to write the guide. I have never tried Duel though maybe i will.

I do like the sound of Duel + ERSO Enemy AI Overhaul + Vigor Combat & Injuries (maybe I'll try this combination out for a few hours) Considering I am using combination of deadly dragon, Enhanced mighty dragosn and dragon combat overhaul which makes dragon fights both interesting and scary.

I don't know how well ERSO Enemy AI Overhaul would work with revenge of the enemies though.

Just a quick reminder, DUEL Combat Realism, Deadly Combat and Action Combat is all listed in the same place in Nazenn dangerous mods thread. So Duel is not any safer to use than Deadly combat.

ok thanks then it's the scripted mods. There currently 2 mods I am thinking dropping already LOOT and Degradation (do we really need this) and Ulitmate combat (not convinced i actually like it yet).

Loot and degradation is the only mod I have found where NPC loot some dead bodies and I love that feature. One thing in skyrim I hate is the player get showered with loot and gold from day one, and with immersive patrols and other mods that adds npc there is a lot of dead bodies laying around with all their equipment waiting for the player to pick up, and other npc's just walking by never looking for valuables. This create a felling of a lifeless game just rotating around the player, and that is what we try to avoid with adding life to npc, monsters and animals through mods. SKytest add a similar looting feature to animals.

ok with breezehome fully Upgradeable tested and back in the guide I am declaring it done so no more mods will be added for a while, I will be actually playing the game for the next few weeks.

Have fun :)

Post some screenshots of your game, i got curious now ;p

I support that, we want pictures :)

i have done using dropbox (which seems to be pretty crappy for that function) I'll have to set up something else. maybe flickr since copy.com is going soon no point using that

Yeah, I couldn't see the pictures you posted on the last page.

What about Mediafire?

I remembered a discussion in the Legacy of the Dragonborn Nexus page. ICA was trying to determine what the best file sharing service would be for a mirror download site for the upcoming Legacy v15 FOMOD:

MediaFire Features

MediaFire will give you 10 GB upfront when you sign up for a free account.

There are a few ways you can get more free storage, like referring friends, downloading their software, or posting MediaFire links on social media.

In total, you can actually get over 50 GB of free cloud storage.

Pros:

Instant 10 GB of free storage

Upload files as large as 25 GB

No bandwidth limits

Can share files and folders with anyone

Desktop and mobile app

Can import files from a URL

Non-users can upload to your account

Cons:

Must sign on to your account once a year to prevent expiration

Supported by advertisements

No option for bandwidth control when uploading files

The only thing about Mediafire is that to upload files over 2GB in size, you HAVE to use the desktop app they provide, as the browser upload tool doesn't support files over 2GB in size. Just a heads up about that in case it influences the decision (plus its just good to know).

No mention was made of image sharing in forums...I signed up myself, and tested out an image:

It looks like it works. When I signed up, it downloaded the desktop app, but I wanted to confirm it wasn't necessary for uploads <2GB. I uploaded this picture through the MediaFire website, browsed to the file location in the representation of "My Files" in my MediaFire user directory, opened the link, then right-click "Copy Image URL".

Hi everyone!

Thanks Darth Mathias for your guide.

It took me around 2 weeks to follow the SRLE guide and learn how to install eveything and get used to the different tools. Then I found your extended version, and as someone already said "we always want more".

I don't know if my future contributions and feedback will be helpful, as I added some different followers and a few other mods I like.

But a couple days ago, I thought my game was running fine: 3 hours playing flawlessly then a sudden CTD while running around Whiterun in the search of Sofia with my party of 6-7 followers (Feah, Cerwiden, Selene Kate, Recorder and Tocatta). Since then my save game is borked, getting CTDs when trying to load, even Save Tool stops functionning when opening the last saves...

I remember having activated some mods options right before in MCM, but don't know why I get CTDs too even on a new game.

So your theory about scripts being heavy (so many running, plus the fact I added some more) could be plausible.

Maybe I have RAM issues on my side, other theory. Even with a big rig (GTX Titan 6 GB, i7 hexacore 6x 3.2GHz and 16 GB RAM) we all know that it's an "old" game made for DirectX 9 and as far as I run under Windows 10, it doesn't help much either.

So I tried different tweaks on enbseries.ini, skyrim.ini, skyprefs.ini and skes.ini configuration files without any success... Even new games would CTD. I assume the game was too modded and I tried to remove some. I know Climates of Tamriel and Real Water Two need several optional mods and patches, so I just made a new profile choosing Purity instead as weather mod (less plugins to load). After one hour of DynDoLODding I finally was able to start a new game without crashing.

But I had to keep Real Water Two cause it's necessary for the Skyrim Conflict Resolution mod to load (I don't know yet how to make my own corrective patches). I just hope it will not conflict with Purity.

The result is quite nice (beautiful skies with sun flares); haven't tested for a long play though. Followin my "memory load" theory, I decided to move the "...\Mod Organizer\mods\" folder from my dedicated Steam HD to my main SSD (69 GB to copy!). I will check this evening if textures and distant objects load faster.

Just a couple questions:

With the settings generated by the little program spINI, it looks like very far objects don't appear, like mountains, landscapes. Aren't some default values a bit low?

Instead of SRO I installed Tamriel Reloaded as base nice textures, then I put after it the new textures of Noble Skyrim Mod performance pack for overwritting. I don't know if it's a good choice (TR + NSM in place of SRO).

Thanks for the good work everyone, I learn a lot while following this ongoing guide. I hope to finally get a stable modded game and eventually play past the starting quests: I'm also new to Skyrim, and want to experience a beautiful and immersive RPG from "scratch"! ^^

his name is Sobek-Ra an argonian Battlemage specializing in destruction and using Bound Sword and Bound Bow. he is using Sofia as cannon fodder and a pack mule

Sobek? Ancient God of Crocodiles? You sneakyy :3

It does put a new spin on "Dragonborn". Already halfway there, lol.

As Neovalen would say, ' Was it your ma or pa that was the dragon?' :P

they could be i just left them as default after Running spINI. i have changed iMinGrassSize=40 to 50 to thin out the grass a bit

Tamriel reloaded and Noble skyrim actually sound like a good combination you may want to turn them round just to see which you prefer (ypu may not even need the paralax patch for noble skyrom as Tamriel Relaod come with parallax textures). I hope you work out the CTD issue I am looking at what scripted mods can be cut from the guide, But as we all know it's not easy let go of mods we like.

but one thing I will do is cut Ultimate Combat from the guide as that is heavy and i'll just let you guys decided what combat mods you want to use on your own.
