D1Z4STR Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) I think I have fixed the issue in my previous post, I just merged them in script merger. No issues so far. I do have a question for those who use this guide. Is it normal in the main menu in video settings to see texture and shadow quality on low? Is it because of the setting files we changed in the guide? Or should i set them back to ultra in game? Edited July 19, 2016 by D1Z4STR

viper37 Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 (edited) I can't seem to be able to merge the mods. Maybe someone can help me here? I follow the instructions up to that part:Place the extracted mod<Modname> folders of the texture mods to be merged in TW3ModMerging/Input.Execute ModKitchen. On the Uncook game files tab, select the TW3ModMerging/Input folder.Select [Uncook] then [OK] to the pop up window. This will extract the files from the input mods into the TW3ModMerging/Raw/Uncooked folder. There, I get the pop-up, then it crashes. My input folder has: modALL, modBlood, etc.I have configured everything as the guide says in ModKitchen, I left everything else to default:-texture format: TGA.-Skip errors: checked.-Dump redswf files: unchecked. I have Windows 10, latest updates installed. .Net 4.5 is installed (tried reinstalling it, it says it's integrated into the OS, so I know it's there). The first part of the guide says: "Select the x64 folder inside <The Witcher 3 Modkit>/bin and click [OK]."So I selected ...\Witcher 3 mod tools\BinThe other one is identical. I tired running ModKitchen as admin and disabling anti-virus+firewall, no change. I always get the following message: See the end of this message for details on invokingjust-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.************** Exception Text **************System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The system cannot find the file specified at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo) at WindowsFormsApplication1.Form1.runUncook(String contentPathUncook, String uncookedPath, String texFormatUncook) at WindowsFormsApplication1.Form1.button_RunUncook_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)************** Loaded Assemblies **************mscorlib Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.6.1080.0 built by: NETFXREL3STAGE CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework64/v4.0.30319/mscorlib.dll----------------------------------------ModKitchen Assembly Version: 1.0.1.0 Win32 Version: 1.0.1.0 CodeBase: file:///D:/Donnees/Downloads/ModKitchen-v1.0.1-389-1-0-1/ModKitchen.exe----------------------------------------System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.6.1038.0 built by: NETFXREL2 CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Windows.Forms/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Windows.Forms.dll----------------------------------------System Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.6.1081.0 built by: NETFXREL3STAGE CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll----------------------------------------System.Drawing Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.6.1078.0 built by: NETFXREL3STAGE CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Drawing/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Drawing.dll----------------------------------------************** JIT Debugging **************To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for thisapplication or computer (machine.config) must have thejitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. The application must also be compiled with debuggingenabled. For example:<configuration> <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" /></configuration>When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exceptionwill be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computerrather than be handled by this dialog box. Bloonan Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Hello guys, I was trying to follow the guide today and everything was alright until I reached the modkitchen part. After trying to uncook the first set of mods, I receive this error which brought me to a full stop: https://gyazo.com/50b9f996d2f62d9051d388be5b296642 I tried running the application as administrator, I tried reinstalling ModKit, but nothing seemed to solve the issue. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
Bloonan Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Hmm...yeah, sorry about that. Here's the working one: https://gyazo.com/74b9460c05f13d4c8ac139f60ba412cbNow when I try to uncook, the cmd window is blank for about 10-15 seconds then 6-7 lines of messages appear and dissappear together with the cmd window in an instant.

Bloonan Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Yeah, turns out that was the issue...and a borky install of mod kit. Now all is working and I'm enjoying the game. Thanks a lot Talos!

Richiesusername Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Hey - just thought users of this guide might find this info handy: NMM is a bad idea with Witcher 3. It doesn't handle everything that a lot of mods cover (especially the really fun mods). So, when installing mods what you'll want to do instead is download and install manually according to the mod's instructions for installation. If it's a script or xml based mod (or both) , then use "Script Merger" (which you can find on the nexus) to merge it with your other mods. Don't worry - manual installation is usually pretty easy. (It was designed that way - drag and drop a folder is usually all you need to do.)
Bloonan Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Now I have another issue, I want to uninstall Primer but I don't have a clue about how to do it without destroying the balance of the game. Simply disabling it through NMM won't simply do it, I guess. I saw the option Uninstall Primer in the in-game Mod menu, but toggling that won't kill the mod's functions.

Yes, I do double check that things are removed. Now I have another issue, I want to uninstall Primer but I don't have a clue about how to do it without destroying the balance of the game. I believe you need to click uninstall in the mod menu (this fixes the skills back to vanilla default), then simply uninstall via NMM and delete the files manually installed in the steps under special installation. That should place you back into a vanilla state. Obviously be sure to redo any merges.
Bloonan Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Alright, easy enough. In order to redo any merge affected by the lack of Primer I should run the Script Merger again, right?
