I've noted a significant change between INI formats between version 17706 and 1815107.

New values, default values changes, and massive organizational changes.

Can anyone confirm this?  I don't feel like rolling back just to check this.

With skyrim 17706 installed backup and delete your current ..Documents\My Games\Skyrim dir. Launch skyrim from steam to rebuild it. Now zip them up, label it pristine 17706 ini files, and delete them. Join the beta program in steam and let it install 1815107. Launch skyrim from steam to recreate them. Compare the two sets of ini files with your favorite text comparison tool, I use the compare plugin for Notepad++.

Ah, fair enough, I'd normally do it swiftly by myself, but the numbers confused me. :P

Last time I checked, a few of the mods I use were not compatible with 1.8 patch. Have there been any changes with regards to that? I think most of you advised against using the beta patch for now.

I'm not actually playing Skyrim these days I just installed the latest beta for testing, so if your playing still I wouldn't recommend upgrading unless the beta is gonna fix a specific problem you are having.

Wait, are you sure you've started the game after recreating the ini files? It usually takes playing the game to reorganise the INI files and filling in the blanks properly.

I always use a preset too, to make sure the correct changes are applied. Say compare Ultra or High presets with both versions of the game, just to be sure.
