Interior lighting turns on and off (pics inside)

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi all,

Here's an issue that's really bugging me. One second I'll have nice lighting, then when I move (sometimes literally 1 step) the lighting turns off or vice versa.

The 2 pics below are within about half a step of each other.

I'm using Jaw Z's Enhanced Lighting for ENB and that's it, the problem is also present when not using an ENB.

Any ideas people?

Many thanks, Mix

I answered this somewhere...

https://forum.step-project.com/topic/6372-lights-turning-on-and-off/?p=103697

please search before asking a question.

You can try using ELFX meshes

just install the mod then delete the *.esp

Apologies, but thanks for your help! I'll test it out later.

Could you just clarify a couple of things for me?

1. Being as I'm using Mod Organizer could I just untick the .esp in the load order to get the same effect?

2. I'm using the ETaC patch for ELE so would I need to install the ETaC ELFX patch and then disable the .esp so I can keep the meshes?

Many thanks, Mix

If the area is related to ETAC then make a post over on the mod page.

Not had any trouble with ETaC areas at the minute, but I will post on the page if I do.

Thanks a lot for all your help and swift responses :)

I also have the lights turning off when I start the game and I am in the Alternate Start Live another life prison cell. When I disable ELFX and start a new game I don't have the problem. i tried to move the mod to the highest priority and it did not fix. Also loading the ESPs last did not fix.

Update:

Seem to have fixed it by putting "fFlickeringLightDistance=8192"  under [GENERAL] in the Skyrim.ini. There is still the odd issue in dungeons but it's fixed the problem in most places.

I did also keep the ELFX meshes installed as I prefer the orangey look they give fires :)
