jjjulien Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 After optimizing the vanilla textures per the guide, I get lightning bolts (i.e., completely overwritten) in MO for the Dragonborn, Hearthfires, and Dawguard DLCs. Does this mean I did something wrong? I have everything in the order given in the guide. Thanks.
Kelmych Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 The lightening bolts indicate that some of the resources are overwritten. Did you double click the DLC and look at the Conflicts tab? It should a large number of non-conflicted files (at the bottom of the window).
jjjulien Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 (edited) I get ONLY the lightning bolt for the three optimized DLC textures, and the conflicts tab shows all files as overwritten. I take it I did something wrong... Edited November 10, 2014 by jjjulien
Kelmych Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I'm assuming by guide you mean the DDSopt guide. Did you compare the folders of optimized textures with the screenshots that show the directories of the optimized files?
jjjulien Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 (edited) Yes, I did use the STEP DDSopt guide (Appendix-->Quick Start Guide-->Vanilla Skyrim Texture Optimization) referenced in the SR:LE installation guide. and I did compare folders and they come out correct. I set up DDSopt per the STEP guide before starting. What should my optimized files show in MO? Should there be the lightning bolt with the plus and minus signs? Edited November 10, 2014 by jjjulien
z929669 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Download the optimized textures from STEP or Tony671 on the Nexus. There is no need to use DDSopt on the vanilla textures any longer. If you just want to learn how to use DDSopt, use it for custom work or mods that need it.
