SMIM and empty response

It's possible I've missed something, but I have not been able to find a solution to my problem downloading SMIM with MO. Each attempt results in this error message: Failed to request file info from nexus: empty response.I've downloaded other mods--and have previously modded with NMM--without issue. I am stuck in my new attempt until SMIM is installed.Is it necessary to download certain mods manually or is there some problem I can resolve with guidance?Thank you for any advice.

Sometimes the nexus just doesn't play nice so download manually. Then drop the mod in the MO downloads folder and query info on the file before installing.

Manually downloaded SMIM, dropped into MO downloads, ran query info. This is the result:MO claimed no file of that name could be found on the nexus. I attempted to install anyhow and was given this error message: None of the available installer plugins were able to handle that archive.I'll do some digging around, but if anyone has a solution, I will be thankful.

The S.T.E.P. guide suggests this is due to the downloaded file being corrupt.

Firstly are you sure you're using the latest version? There was a bugfix yesterday. Also have you tried just downloading it with the browser and then saying install archive in Mod Organizer and then pointing it at the file? After you get it installed you can manually right click the mod say information, move to the Nexus tab and input the Nexus ID (if the archive doesn't make MO input it for you) and then input the version number

MO is up to date. I just checked again, to be sure. I have followed the method you just mentioned, phazer11. Same result as EssArrBee's advice: None of the available installer plugins were able to handle that archive.
S.T.E.P. suggests this is due to a corrupted file. However, I have attempted to download SMIM manually four times and each attempt has resulted in the same error message.

Any other suggestions?

Well, want to point out, even though it might only apply to me I suppose, that even after the bugfix, I still found a couple of mods that wouldn't download through MO while a few others did just fine. I had like 5 mods that needed an update yesterday, an two of them wouldn't download, they would queue up but hang at zero percent. I haven't tried to download since then though, so maybe it's irrelevant, idk.

Yeah I can't even dowload SMIM, I tried to, but it said "failed to request file info: nexus empty response". I tried to download 1.74 main file. I am gonna try some of the other files from SMIM, and atleast see if I can get a file to download from somewhere.

 

SMIM update to 1.74 from 1.72 downloaded just fine. That would have to mean a Nexus issue and not a MO issue, right?

I've just seen a comment on SMIM's Nexus page from a person claiming they experienced a similar error attempting to download through NMM.

Honestly sounds like a Nexus SNAFU if you've downloaded manually and it still wont play nice.

I verified that this is not a problem in MO, the Nexus fails to return any download links for the file. This affects NMM as well as MO.
