Loading Screen "not responding" taking ages to load game.

Question

Posted (edited)

Ok i have spent hours searching for an answer but can't find it. I've installed like 90ish mods and i always (75%) of the time ran SKSE in windowed form from MO after installing mods to make sure game doesn't crash . From clicking continue to ingame used to be within seconds but now i get "not responding" and when i open task manager i can watch the it load upto 2GB and then the screen unlocks and the game loads. However this can take minutes now i have tried uninstalling the last mods installed to trying to run Vanilla skyrim without any mods through MO even tried to load through steam but every time it is the same thing. I spent 5hrs trying to figure out why my character had purple skin and turned out i hadn't installed the tattoo overlay. Everything was loading fast when i had purple skin but then i fixed that and get BS load times. i tried unticking the tattoo mod and that took me back to purple but long loads. i'm pulling my hair out, i had 2hrs sleep last night thinking.

Edit: First I unticked highrestexturepack01.esp & 02 in the right column aswell as all my Amidianborn mods and then that fixed it. However after enabling Amidianborn again problem came back and from then on thats when ticking and unticking mods/.esp's makes no difference. Running game from skyrimlauncher/skyrim.exe/SKSE.exe/MO-SKSE/MO-Skyrimlauncher/MO-Skyrim all have the same effect. Used Loot for load order also TES5Edit cleaned the .esm's so no dirty plugins. New game with mods or without or even saved games, all have this problem. I reinstalled Skyrim because the first time i used NMM and totally FUBAR'ed it and thought coming to MO would safe guard me. I've spent about 14Hrs installing mods in MO making sure they were all working i really would like not to have to install the game again. In the week i've had the game 90% of the time of 7hrs every night was NMM installing and 2 nights installing MO mods.

Also is there an updated step by step guide to installing mods through MO that isn't like 2 yrs old, using outdated mods/MO???

Machine specs:

i7 3700

16Gb Ram

128GB SSD (Windows system)

1TB HDD (Data/Games drive)

GTX760 4GB Vram

I'll upload a mods list when i get home if this helps.

Am I reading this correct, you had the same problem through Steam? If it is happening through Steam and not MO then the problem is not MO as none of the MO mods will not be loaded.

Things to look at would be the configuration files Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini. MO will copy them to a new profile when it is created. You can try to rename then in My GamesSkyrim and run the Skyrim launcher from outside MO to recreate them and then copy the new ones to your new profile.

Also did you install an ENB and did you install SKSE properly?

Thanks for your help, when I went to full screen the problem went away. I've had an unstable game for the last week and I just installed ENBoost and the problem has gone away. I didn't realize that ENBoost was a must install. As you can see from the above I have a fast machine but I am getting huge lag when combat starts. I tried installing the antilag and fps limiter but that made the game unstable. 55-60fps 99% of the time and I think it drops to low 50's when the slow down in combat happens. I have so many questions about MO where is the best place to ask?
