Tannin Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I just uploaded MO 1.2.2 which supports the feature TheBloke proposed. Right now it's only on sourceforge because I'd like to hear your opinions first:Installer: https://sourceforge.net/projects/modorganizer/files/ModOrganizer-1.2.2.exe/downloadArchive: https://sourceforge.net/projects/modorganizer/files/ModOrganizer_v1.2.2.7z/downloadPlease note that the tutorial is a bit broken currently, but you don't need that, right? ;)
0 EssArrBee Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 For me, it helped with ENB, but the other load times were the same.
0 vidalia Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Just updated to MO 1.2.5 and now my desktop shortcut to the Skyrim SKSE loader does not work. Generating a new one and/or launching with admin privileges does not help either. Does anybody else have this issue or knows of a workaround?
0 TheBloke Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) Didn't someone say the recent betas improved the initial loading time (the time it takes before the game starts)? It actually increased for me by a few seconds. Beta 1.2.1 was a massive improvement over the previous 1.1.2. Not sure if you'd count 1.2.1 as a recent beta - it's been on the MO Nexus page for 6 weeks (since 5th May). When I first installed 1.2.1 I still had my 50+ GB Skyrim + Mod installation on HDD rather than SSD. With those slow disks, my startup time - specifically the time it took from when I hit Run in MO until I saw the SKSE window first appear, which is the part of the process where MO is building its virtual filesystem - went down from 60+ seconds, to around 15. Huge improvement. (Now on SSDs, and with 60GB total in active mods alone, my MO->SKSE time is perhaps 2 seconds, and I get to the Skyrim main menu in 15 seconds.) This thread refers to the second round of betas, versions 1.2.2 -> 1.2.4 which then became final release 1.2.5. They did not have any particular performance improvements that I can recall. So probably you were already using beta 1.2.1? Just updated to MO 1.2.5 and now my desktop shortcut to the Skyrim SKSE loader does not work. Generating a new one and/or launching with admin privileges does not help either. Does anybody else have this issue or knows of a workaround? Hm, I've noticed the same. I never bothered making an out-of-MO shortcut until Beta 1.2.4. Then I tried it for the first time, and it didn't work. I forgot to report it, and in any case figured that maybe it was a local issue because others were talking about using them. What symptoms do you see? I just tested it again in 1.2.5, and see the same as I had in 1.2.4. Specifically: I make a shortcut in MO to SKSE, to my Desktop or Start Menu I close MO I double click the shortcut I get the "Mod Organizer" loading screen graphic (the one with the lightning on it) appear middle of the screen. It then just stays there, and nothing further happens. When I check Task Manager, I see I have a single Mod Organizer process running idle. SKSE / TESV.exe never appears in Task Manager. It stays like that permanently until I End Process in Task Manager on the Mod Organizer.exe process. Note that exactly the same happens even if I use the external shortcut when I still have Mod Organizer open - this triggers a second Mod Organizer.exe process appearing in Task Manager, and nothing further. Given it's clearly not just a local issue for me, I have raised this as a bug: https://issue.tannin.eu/tbg/modorganizer/issues/684 If you have any different symptoms, you might want to go to that bug ticket and add a comment with your experiences. 0 Octopuss Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Guess I mistook it for the previous update then. Yes, I was using 1.2.1.Btw, 15 seconds? That's pretty fast. I'm not afraid to say I have hi-end computer with really fast SSD, and with 37GB worth of mods I am at 24-25s with 1.2.5 (was 22 with 1.2.1) from the click on SKSE shortcut to the moment menu items appear.

Yeah OK turns out I was exaggerating :) I did some timings before when I switched from extracting all BSAs to not extracting the biggest ones. The 15 seconds i remembered was for the Skyrim window to first appear, not for menu. In my test just now, it took a further 12 seconds for menu items to appear. So 27 seconds total, click-to-usable-menu. Though I was also under-exaggerating the MO-SKSE time, which was less than a second when I just tried it. Enb or no enb? With ENB (both graphical enhancements and ENBoost.) Edited June 24, 2014 by TheBloke
0 Octopuss Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Kinda with ENB for me as well, but I turned off everything I could, only keeping the parallax fix.
