Skyrim Realistic Overhaul optimization

Hi all!

 

This is fairly simple. In the DDSopt quickguide, Skyrim HD is mentioned, and not Skyrim Realistic Overhaul. Is this because one shouldn't optimize Skyrim Realistic Overhaul, or because the guide has not been updated for 2.2.8/2.2.9?

Should I optimize it?

If you download the SRO torrent that's linked to in the guide, you'll notice that the file name says it's optimized, so there's no point in doing it again.

You're welcome. Also, in all fairness, it is pretty easy to miss (and impossible to see after you've installed the mod if you go with the default SRO name).

The examples in the QuickStart guide included only mods that could benefit from optimization. Any mods that were already sufficiently optimized weren't included in the example. As CJ mentioned, SRO does not need any further optimization. The examples will need to be updated for STEP 2.2.9 when it is published.

Can't wait, thanks for doing this, I'm getting used to MO (former BAIN user) now & looking forward to working with DDSOpt next.

There won't necessarily be a lot of additions to the examples since many of the mods with textures being discussed in the Mods thread are already adequately optimized. I have been looking at mods in the Real Explorers Guide to Skyrim pack where there seem to be some opportunities for texture optimization.
