I couldn't find a thread on this, so I guess we've never looked at it. Worth comparing or are we happy with what we've got?

Judging from the screenshots on the page, I still think HQ Snow looks much better.

HQ Snow was my option until I found Quality Snow HD 4k

 

You don't actually have more than one snow texture mod, so why not give STEP users more options? It comes down to taste.

0o0ooO, this one is pretty. It actually has the snowy 'clumpy' look that I have never seen in any of the mods suggested here. Does that make sense? We should definitely compare this to HQ Snow Textures ASAP. This is extremely impressive.

In your current setup, do you have it before or after Terrain Bump (assuming you did a STEP 2.2.8 install). I'm only asking because the 2.2.8 guide put HQ Snow AFTER Terrain Bump and I'm not sure if I should just swap out hq snow for this mod or if this mod should be AFTER terrain bump, ya know? Always so many questions.

This is a simple texture replacer so you can use mod organizer left panel to see if this overwrites something. I'm not using step at the moment.

I'm using the default version, but again, it really comes down to personal taste.

 

My "snow pack" is composed of Better Dynamic Snow, Quality Snow HD 4K (default version) and Quality SnowFlakes HD V2 (alternative version).

What exactly does better dynamic snow do? It was removed from step because of seam-issues but it was never re-evaluated. Also, do you use Prod80's weather patch? If so, are you using the snow -40 or -10 (you'll know what i mean if you use that patch).

As for Prod80's weather patch, I don't use CoT so no patch for me :)

 

For weathers I simply use a combination of Enhanced Dynamic Weather System (EDWS) + More Snow + More Rain. That's enough for me and no problems whatsoever.

Maybe you can answer this for me. What in the world is a 'normal texture'. I don't understand and it's confusing because Terrain Bump is only normals.
