How to disable placed object Tes5edit

Question

Posted

Hello,

I am trying to make a patch for myself concerning the new USKP versions edit to Breezehome as I use a mod that changes it and it will now have a conflict since USKP has a new record.

I'm trying to disable the placed object 02002304 from the USKP via Tes5edit. So far I have been scanning my other mods to see how they might have gone about it but I am still unsure of myself.

So far I have in the patch: Set flags to initially disabled and set parent to enable state opposite of parent.

I have no idea if this is correct.

Any help would be appreciated and make you a super special awesome person! (that's three adjectives!) But seriously =D

Just remember a deleted object is a UDR. Then in TES5Edit, undelete it. It is much quicker.

A more generic, but related question: so if delete some records from a mod in TES5EDIT, do I need to go through the process of cleaning that mod?

::EDIT::

To be more specific, I have downloaded a patch for SkyRe and Immersive Armors 7. It covers a lot more than IA7 though, and I have that stuff covered by my own patches (besides I don't agree with some changes that were made). I have therefore deleted all not wanted records from the patch, and only left the ones relevant to IA7. Would you recommend cleaning that ESP then?

It depends what you mean by deleted. I think what you mean by deleted is remove the record from the patch. What OP means as deleted is as not present in the game. I therefore prefer the word "remove" for removing a record, while marking the header of a record as deleted, then cleaning it and changing them to disabled will remove the object in-game without potential for CTD. Undeletion and disabling sets the reference header to initially disabled, enabled opposite of parent to the player, and lowers the objects Z by -30000, so that it will definitely not ever show up in game.

I normally make it a deleted record' date=' and then undelete it ;)[/quote']

Uh, isn't it easier to just flag it as InitiallyDisabled instead of deleted? Or am I missing something here?
