Thechosenone Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 nvidia clams a 20% increase in performance for skyrim, i was already using the beta drivers so i didn't notice any increase but those of you who weren't sure will (i saw atleast 10% when i updated to beta drivers) article download
torminater Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Z-fighting is less intrusive using this driver for me at least. But maybe it's also my new awesome tweaks (if I can make out the right ones oc) ;-) From me THUMBS UP!
skwareballz Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I saw a decent improvement on my laptop, 555M, fps is a bit more stable with lots of NPCs on screen. nvidia has been pretty good with driver updates so far this year, now if AMD could just fix crossfire scaling for Skyrim and Arkham City.
Vond Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Not noticed any difference at all from 301.40 beta, but I suppose not much has changed other than making it WHQL. :)
Nachtfrost Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 So did anyone hear something about Ambient Occlusion settings with the new drivers? I installed them yesterday, unfortunately, activating AO causes weird air shadows and such. I know that this is an issue. I just wanna know if there is some solution around.
frihyland Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Well you should be able to use the skyrim settings for everything now, instead of setting it to modern warfare (pretty sure thats what was recommended in the STEP guide). Beyond that not much change, I don't use ssao so no help from me there.
zincfe Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 i use new driver and no problem with AO and used config from step tested 2 option ther. But in nexus forum somone write that ther is problem with it and if i good remember problem wih ao was on GTX 560 just check forum for answer ( and again if i good remember that problem was on skyrim 1.5 but work good on 1.4 )
MadWizard25 Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I find the claims of performance increase to be a little overblown with Nvidia Drivers. The only game i really benchmark is Skyrim, and I have a 560 Ti. Supposed to have seen a lot of performance increase over the past couple of patches for skyrim but i really have not seen much, less stuttering maybe, but hardly a dramatic improvement of fps. Is anyone else trying out the new adaptive vsync as well? Have not had much testing time, but already noticed screen tearing with AV on, even though FPS is limited to 60, indicating that it should be working.
stoppingby4now Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Performance increase claims definitely should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm sure the increase differs from system to system. But one thing to keep in mind is that performance numbers are always based on the vanilla game.
