MO downloads handling and the new Nexus subdomain system.

Question

Posted

Hello,

I can't seem to download mods from the Nexus with MO using the 'Download with NNM/Manager' option on the Nexus. When I do it, it either says 'Download started' or there is no response for a while and then MO says: Failed to request file: Nexus info: invalid response". I've run through the installation guide again, and searched through the various FAQ's and forum threads, but it's not even mentioned anywhere. This leads me to believe I'm either unlucky and found a very specific exception, or, and this is probably most likely, I'm doing something wrong that 99,9% of the users get right. So please excuse me if that is so, but could you please help me with this?

Thank you!

Addendum: Ok, so I just found out that today the nexus is doing some maintenance and network changes. While the stuff they're doing should theoretically not cause problems like mine, I think that considering the type of issue I'm having the connection is not a far fetched one. For now I'll just park this one and chalk it up to "picked the worst possible day to begin modding Skyrim".

You have to download the latest version of Mod Organizer.

Do I have to physically go download it off the site? Usually I just update it from within the program itself, and it says there's no update...

EDIT: I should probably include that my current version of MO is v1.0.9

Yes you have to go there and download the current version. The recent changed to the Nexus site broke internal links in MO so it will not show any updates. The new version, 1.0.11, has fixed this.

I think I broke it. When I link to Nexus via Mod Organizer the website perma-loads the descriptions, file information, pictures, etc. On the bright side, it's not giving me the error where I had an E, where everything should be! Woot. Oh, Disabling Avast really quick to see if it's secretly causing mayhem. Meh. I don't know. Should I report as bug, or should I be doing some serious troubleshooting?

Edit. It's magically working now. I really don't know.

Is there a way to get the new version installed that WON'T destroy all my settings? =.=

EDIT: Nvm, I figured it out.

EDIT2: Ok, now it's updated, but I've run into another issue: any Nexus link I click on from inside the mod info causes the site to say "This file cannot be downloaded while the owner has set it to hidden.", but a quick search shows that the mod isn't hidden...
