TechAngel85 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Something that goes hand-in-hand with the Linux choice that hasn't been discussed yet is also the Desktop Environment choice. Which is better and which do you guys/gals prefer? Gnome or KDE?
WilliamImm Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Well, I bounce around between Cinnamon and KDE. Cinnamon is a replacement for GNOME 3's UI to make it more intuitive for desktop users (right now, GNOME is heading towards a more mobile focus - not that good for us desktop users).
phazer11 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I had two whenever I ran Arch. KDE,and a customized version of GNOME which the Linux Mint team made (I guess it's Cinnamon now)
mothergoose729 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I much prefer gnome. 3.0 and below gnome anyway. Most of the linux community is gnome. Mostly because its so simple. I like features of kde but gnome feels better organized.
TechAngel85 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I've only ever used Gnome. I've never tried KDE; however, have read it has a bit of a learning curve to it...even for savvy techs.
