Question

I realized all my instances were in the default location (AppData), which was filling up my C: drive, so I went ahead and moved my instance files to a new folder in my D: drive and updated all the paths and base directories, as well as the paths for the pertinent applications. What's annoying is that the instance still is called for in the original AppData location, so while I am able to delete the majority of the files causing the space issue, I cannot delete the old folder outright or MO2 will freak out. I haven't figured out a way to change the location path for my instances. Is this even possible? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I mean when I say the location of the instance is not the same as the base directory. I copied over the entirety of the instance and would like for MO2 to call for the instance in that location as opposed to the old location so I can deprecate the old folders entirely.

Please advise, and thanks in advance!

I just set Base Folder to something like D:\Games\ModOrganizer\Instances. This contains one folder for each instance (Downloads, Mods, Overwrite, Profiles and Webcache).

Location is where Mod Organizer stores crash dumps, logs, ModOrganizer.ini, categories, and a file to map Nexus categories. You can move it to another drive as well, but the data in this folder should be relatively small (unless you enable the debug log for usvfs).

Yes, for my purposes of decreasing file size on C:, changing the base paths for stuff like mods and whatnot to a folder in D, and removing the contents of the original folders in C: solves my issue. I was wondering if there was any way to change the original folder location that the instance is rooted in so that it reflects the new folder in my D: drive. Ultimately it doesn't impact the games or anything, I just think it's weird and kind of irksome to have a deprecated folder as the root location, as shown in my photo above. I don't know if it is possible to change that without creating a new instance altogether.
