LODGenx64.exe failed to generate object LOD for one or more worlds

Question

Posted

Hello again, I'm trying to use DynDOLOD 3.00 (Alpha 14) to generate LOD for my game and I keep running into this error: "LODGenx64.exe failed to generate object LOD for one or more worlds." It seems to run into the error when trying to generate object LOD for the Tamriel worldspace. I've searched all over but can't find anyone else who has encountered this error. Any ideas what might be causing the problem? Here's a picture of the error message. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks!

I see, I should have mentioned earlier that I was using the Insider Build. Thanks for painstakingly finding a reason for our problems lmao. Unfortunately for me it seems very difficult to revert to a non-insider preview build of windows. Guess I'll have to wait until it updates to a version that lets DynDOLOD work. But it seems strange how these builds f*cks processes like this entirely.

See this post https://stepmodifications.org/forum/topic/16796-dyndolod-3-alpha-88/?do=findComment&comment=259371

It worked for the other users.

Sorry for the wild goose chase in identifying the issue, but at least the new .net 6 version works amazingly well! I’ve run it a few times, not only is it bug free (other than that one time it hit the weird race condition) but it’s definitely faster. Seems to be a little gentler on my ram as well.

hopefully if you ever need to update to .net 7 in the future it won’t be as time consuming as going from 4 to 6.

It wasn't that particular hard in this case, since it's a console program that mostly reads/writes binary files and does some "math" in between and none of that needs changes. Both versions are compiled from same source. Next Alpha version will silently check if the new version works (e.g. is Net 6 runtime installed) and use net48 in case it isn't.

In case there are still problems, upload ..\DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\Export\LODGen_SSE_Export_Blackreach.txt.

If it went through without issue, enjoy.

I downloaded latest DynDOLOD and extracted to a new folder.

TexGen ran successfully.

I ran DynDOLOD and ran into an exception: "LODGenx64Win.exe failed to generate object LOD for one or more worlds."

logs: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JNr5YFDXWJdw8BglcvptNWqr0t6Y8Lle?usp=share_link

I might be blind but the link does not seem to contain the DynDOLOD log and debug log.

The log would say exactly which LODGen log shows the issue. If you check LODGen_SSE_DLC2SolstheimWorld_WIN_log.txt or LODGen_SSE_Tamriel_WIN_log.txt yourself as explained, the error message seems to be self explanatory. For example:

Error writing D:\Tools\DynDOLOD\DynDOLOD_Output\Meshes\Terrain\DLC2SolstheimWorld\Objects\\DLC2SolstheimWorld.4.-36.-12.WIN.bto There is not enough space on the disk.

thank you.

I hadn't exited DynDOLOD yet which is probably why I didn't find those two particular log files initially.

Hello Sheson!

I am getting this error:

LODGenx64Win.exe returned C0000005

LODGenx64Win.exe failed to generate object LOD for one or more worlds

I saw that this error may be associated with c++ redistributable but i already downloaded the required ones and even repaired them. I also downloaded .net runtime 6.0. It's weird because it got past this point in a previous run but now it's getting stuck. One thing to note, I did debloat my nvidia drivers (uninstalled geforce experience but i have the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver 528.02 2023.1.5). Let me know if you need anything else.

Here are my log files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Pivtg1mWVJlWjI1CAOBemTqIjV6RDyEk/view?usp=share_link

If happening randomly can be a sign of hardware issues like CPU or memory being unstable.

You can use expert mode and just rerun by usingt he button "Execute LODGen" for the Tamriel worldspace. See https://dyndolod.info/Help/LODGen,

Keep an eye on memory usage of the LODGenx64Win.exe in task manager. It may be because you set LODGenThreadSplit=24 in the DynDOLOD_SSE.INI. Try 0, 2, 4 or 8. Maybe 12. If you use expert mode and "Execute LODGen", set ThreadSplit= in ..\DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\Export\LODGen_SSE_Export_Tamriel.txt directly.

Test if it works when using LODGenx64.exe. To do that simply hide LODGenx64Win.exe. When you start DynDOLOD it should show that it uses the fallback as explained at top of https://dyndolod.info/Help/LODGen

Thanks again for your reply! I will lower the LODGenThreadSplit to 8.

Ok I will hide LODGen64Win.exe but I could've swore it was already using LODGenx64.exe based on the cmd window title... But I may be remembering wrong so I will try this. I'll let you know what happens!

Read https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Post-Logs which DynDOLOD log and debug log to upload. Since there was no problem running TexGen, it is unclear why you choose to upload those logs instead.

If you follow a third party guide and have problems with it, you need to ask its author(s), forum sections etc.

From the LODGen log:
Error accessing E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Meshes\Terrain\SkuldafnWorld\SkuldafnWorld.8.56.-5.btr Unable to read beyond the end of the stream.

From https://dyndolod.info/Help/LODGen, which opens when clicking "Click on this link for additional explanations and help for this message" as explained in https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Read-Log-and-Error-Messages:
Error accessing
There is a problem reading the mentioned *.NIF. Try to reinstall the file or mod from its download archive. Run the *.NIF through Cathedral Assets Optimizer. If the mentioned file is a *.BTR terrain LOD mesh, generate a valid one with xLODGen. If the file opens without error in NifSkope, make a post on the official DynDOLOD support forum and upload the *.NIF or provide a link to the mod etc.

As explained at https://stepmodifications.org/forum/topic/13451-xlodgen-terrain-lod-beta-97-for-fnv-fo3-fo4-fo4vr-tes5-sse-tes5vr-enderal-enderalse/ and the Readme.txt included in the xLODGen download archive and at https://dyndolod.info/Help/xLODGen:
Use -o:"c:\OutputPath\" command line parameter to change where files are generated to, default is the game folder. Then install output as a mod.
Do not generate into any game, any mod manager folders or special Windows folder like Program Files x86.
