LODGenx64.exe failed to generate object LOD for one or more worlds

Question

Posted

Hello again, I'm trying to use DynDOLOD 3.00 (Alpha 14) to generate LOD for my game and I keep running into this error: "LODGenx64.exe failed to generate object LOD for one or more worlds." It seems to run into the error when trying to generate object LOD for the Tamriel worldspace. I've searched all over but can't find anyone else who has encountered this error. Any ideas what might be causing the problem? Here's a picture of the error message. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks!

Read https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Post-Logs which DynDOLOD log and debug log and which LODGen logs to upload.

Follow the instructions of the message.

Thank you. I misread the message initially and was looking at the wrong log, my bad. The error had something to do with one of the .cgid files, so I re-ran the grass pre-cache and now DynDOLOD is running smoothly again. Thanks again!

I'm suddenly getting this message during dyndolod execution:
[08:31] Waiting for LODGenx64.exe generating object LOD for Tamriel.
[17:33] <Error: LODGenx64.exe failed to generate object LOD for Tamriel. LODGenx64.exe returned 280. Check C:\Modding\DynDOLOD\Logs\LODGen_SSE_Tamriel_log.txt>
[17:33] Computer says "LODGenx64.exe failed to generate object LOD for one or more worlds.
Check for error messages in the listed LODGen log(s)"

Bottom of LODGen_SSE_Tamriel_log.txt looks like this:

Error processing grass data Tamrielx-005y-035.cgid Unable to read beyond the end of the stream. System.IO.EndOfStreamException
Log ended at 7:47:01 PM (15:30)
Code: 640

Is it possible that my grass didn't cache properly?

The full log: https://we.tl/t-e2PQIb8rfA

Thanks guys.

Click on the link in the message to open more help https://dyndolod.info/Help/LODGen as explained in https://dyndolod.info/Official-DynDOLOD-Support-Forum#Read-Log-and-Error-Messages

https://dyndolod.info/Help/LODGen:
Error processing grass data *.CGID
Delete the *.CGID file. Load the game, open console and type "cow Tamriel x y" without the quotes and the values for x and y from the *.CGID filename to load directly into the cell. No Objects In Grass should then generate the file anew (UseGrassCache=true and OnlyLoadFromCache=false), which hopefully can then be read next time LODGen is run to generate LOD.

Many apologies for posting about the grass precache issue earlier.  I found the relevant fix for that.

I was hoping it would fix the issue I was having, but alas, no.  That said, this is what I encounter:

[Window Title]
DynDOLOD

[Main Instruction]
LODGenx64.exe failed to generate object LOD for one or more worlds.

[Content]
Check for error messages in the listed LODGen log(s)

Help for this message

[OK] [Exit DynDOLOD]

[Footer]
DynDOLOD FAQ | Support Forum | Copy message to clipboard

All the log files it tells me to check (of which there are about 25) are practically empty and look like this:

So this is a different reference than the other day.

Does the error happen (almost) every time but with different records?

It didn't happen this time. But got this one:

[Window Title]
DynDOLOD

[Main Instruction]
LODGenx64.exe failed to generate object LOD for one or more worlds.

[Content]
Check for error messages in the listed LODGen log(s)

I pressed okay and it came up with:

[Window Title]
DynDOLOD

[Main Instruction]
Save DynDOLOD plugins, save plugins and zip output, exit DynDOLOD without saving, check the log?

[Content]
If 'Check log' is selected, the DynDOLOD plugins will be saved when DynDOLOD is closed.

https://easyupload.io/n7tf3q

I saved and exited. Would there be any issues in my game?

Why don't you check the LODGen logs as explained in the message, the DynDOLOD logs and the "Help for this message" help file to find out what error LODGen printed to its log files?

[19:21] <Error: LODGenx64.exe failed to generate object LOD for Blackreach. LODGenx64.exe returned 25B. Check D:\Mods\Mod packs\DynDOLOD\Logs\LODGen_SSE_Blackreach_log.txt>

As explained in the manual LOD starts beyond the uGridsToLoad or ulargeRefLODGridSize.

A cell has 4096 units. So the first LOD Level shows after about ~ 10240 and ~ 22528 units.

fBlockLevel0Distance=57000 and fBlockLevel1Distance=60000 are way to close together. It wouldn't be surprised if it showed LOD level 16 right after LOD Level 4 and skips LOD Level 8 on occasion.

Start the games launcher to set ultra settings. Then adjust only fBlockLevel0Distance to avoid it causing stuck object LOD. Use the DynDOLOD SkyUI MCM Settings page to adjust the distance in the game.

Why don't you check the LODGen logs as explained in the message, the DynDOLOD logs and the "Help for this message" help file to find out what error LODGen printed to its log files?

Why don't you take the time to read the log message yourself and to search for it on the forum?

Error accessing D:\Mods\SE\Data\meshes\clutter\blackreach\blackreachcrystalm03.nif Unable to read beyond the end of the stream.

There seems to be a problem with that NIF.
Check if it opens in NifSkope.
Find out which mod is the last to supply it. Reinstall it.
Run NIF through CAO.
If a NIF with that error is shipping with a mod but open fine in NifSkope, let me know which one it is.

Only notify the mod author if the NIF does not open in NifSkope.

I got this: https://easyupload.io/ycvmqm

I tried restarting my PC and that resolved it. Maybe looking into that? Also, it was another Arnima one (Beyond Reach) which caused it. Do you think running through CAO might help?

So I am getting the LODGenx64.exe failed to generate object LOD for one or more worlds error at present.  I have checked the individual logs for each worldspace that were generated and all were (almost) empty and identical, containing no useful information at all.

Here are the relevant logs (compressed as a .zip because I was having difficulty uploading them separately).  I included just one of the LODGen worldspace logs to illustrate what I mean above.  My guess is that the failure is something to do with generating occlusion as that's consistently where I encounter problems, but after following the directions in the funtastic manual I am still at a loss.

If that does not help check the Windows Event log for additional messages.
