The *.gid files probably miss the same filler bytes but I wouldn't be surprised if Fallout 4 has more problem reading them beyond that.

Grass LOD generation requires functionality and features from TexGen and DynDOLOD.

For that to happen for Fallout 4, config, rule and maybe patch files need to be created. I have no plans to do that.
