Increase View/Draw Distance? Grass render Distance? Help...

Question

I have been trying to increase the distance that grass, rocks, ground etc render in before LOD's. Don't get me wrong... DynDOLOD look amazing. However i want to see the grass render further out in the distance most importantly. I have seen some people with Skyrim LE have their distance some 10 further. I mearly am looking for a 2-4 times increase. I have doubled the grid size, this should load more Cells but even with these setting changed nothing is changing in game on a fresh save everytime i tweak the settings.

This is what i have changed.

uLargeRefLODGridSize=21 (i have tried 42 as well)

fGrassStartFadeDistance=20000.0000
fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=20000.0000
fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=10000.0000
 
Q?
Is it possible i will have to rerun Dyndlod and Text to regenerate all of the LODs? I would not think so...

The .ini files i have applied these changes to.
C:\Users\corvo\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition
Skyrim.ini
SkyrimPrefs.ini
I have done the same thing in the installation directory for SkyrimSE. Both on the "Ultra" ini and the SkyrimPrefs.ini
(uLargeRefLODGridSize=21 is only found in the SkyrimPrefs.ini outside the installation directory "in my documents")

The grid size you changed will have no effect on grass.

Thank you however i do not know how i feel about running that. From what i read in their faqs and all the comments the .net master file for this as well as this one has a very high chance to crash and just lock your game out. The settings seems like you have to be very very precise i guess, trouble shooting finding grass was hard enough and trying to get this all working i feel like would be absolutely hell. I will give it a go though but honestly if it does start to crash i will more than likely just uninstall it than fix it.

Instead of setting uLargeRefLODGridSize to insane and useless values like 21, use xLODGen/DynDOLOD to actually improve LOD meshes and textures.

 

Check out the DynDOLOD 3 Alpha test, which can use the grass cache from No Grass In Objects to add billboards for grass LOD in object LOD.

Yeah i went ahead and did this instead. Took an hour to run text and dyndolod because i used all 4k settings and i have 15gb in 4k textures. I also picked up a grass blending mod that changed the ground and grass color, then ran with a lighting and weather mod compatable with it. This makes it look like grass extends to the horizon, really good not going to lie. Before with vanilla grass it was super noticable now its not. TY for your help though.
