Remove .esp As Master From Patch.esp?

Question

In SSE Edit, I created a patch plugin to resolve conflicts between .esp files.  I now wish to uninstall one of the mods and it's corresponding .esp.  Can I remove that .esp as master from the patch, or does the patch have to be deleted and recreated?  I have looked through the Tome and it covers adding a master, but it doesn't mention removing a master as far as I could see.

If you can't find the records, right click on your patch plugin and select Apply Script. In the popup dialog, scrolling through the script list to select "Report masters" and click OK. In the next popup, check the mod you want to remove and click OK. This script iterates through all the records and lists the records that need to be removed in the Messages pane.

I think you should be able to remove it as a master from the patch. but you'll need to remove all records in the patch that override the plugin you want to remove. Once you've removed all records from the patch that reference the plugin, right click the patch and select clean masters. If everything is good, the reference to the plugin should be removed. Once the plugin is successfully removed as a master, exit xEdit and save the patch.

As you remove each record, you might check to determine whether you'll need to add the record back to correct other conflicts after you remove the plugin as a master. If you want to resolve any other conflicts, exit xEdit to save the patch first, then re-run xEdit with the cleaned plugin.

Thanks, Greg!  That's the process I was attempting to use (it just made sense), but it hasn't worked so far.  That must mean there are still records from the plugin in question that I have overlooked.  Now that I know it is possible and that I'm not just wasting my time, I'll dig a little further.

I am pretty frustrated with SSEEdit lately.  There is no 64 bit version with the latest download and I cannot get my older version (4.0.3h) to work anymore.  It keeps telling me there was an error and that editing is disabled.  I can't run scripts or anything.  (There IS NO ERROR in the log).  Was something changed?  Every time I try running 4.0.4 I get an out of memory error.  Whats more I can no longer post on Discord to get help.  I have to sign up?

EDIT: More Info: Version 4.0.3h used to work fine without using the 64 bit version until a couple of weeks ago.  The 64 bit version seems to be working ok so I guess I will use that until I get an answer.

Short version: I have a complete list of cells copied to an .esp, and I don't want to have to go through and flag each one as Deleted individually. Is there a way to do this to all the cells in the .esp?
Long version: I'm using a replacer for a dead shrub. The replacer makes it a much prettier 3D green shrub, but Bethesda placed the dead shrub in all kinds of caves and mines, so I want to remove it from those cells. Ain't nothing green supposed to be growing in there. So I found the shrub in xEdit, copied every reference over into an .esp and removed the ones that could realistically be home to lush green flora. I'm now left with looooong list of cells each with only a few Placed Objects of these shrubs, but going through them all and changing flags individually is gonna be a nightmare. So I'd much rather see if there is a way for me to do this across every cell I've copied?

I was trying to create a patch but SSEEdit wouldn't let me.  The plugins were inaccessible. The plugins were grayed out with a line through them.  What's going on?
