Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

I can recommend adding Ultimate Lush Overhaul. It looks amazing alongside SFO. https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32246 The downside is that I don't know if this author will keep up with all of SFO's updates. It is caught up right now, though. It does lush trees MUCH better than the old lush trees mod. It does dip your framerate, but I think its worth a keep. It has no .esp, its just a bunch of meshes, so it can be removed without issue if you don't like it.

Any negative VRAM issues from loading more textures? VRAM is my bane I swear... even using just 2048 textures for everything makes me hit 2850 pretty quickly... and runs a high risk of being unstable at that point.

Taking the time to re-optimize most mods now to see where I get the most savings.

I tried it yesterday. There are still issues with "dancing trees" even in his latest edition. I am fairly sure we need to wait until the author gets this fixed up. Which most likely will not happen until SFO gets a stable version again.

Not much in the VRAM department though.. but it does give a nasty FPS hit when you run with an ENB... since now shadows take up even more processing power.

And yeh I am also doing optimizations.... still get 2 CTD before the first dragon is down. One on the road to Whiterun the first time, and one on the way back from the barrows.

It is playable but would be nice if I could get rid of at least one of them.

Definitely as high as 15 fps loss in heavily forested areas for me. Its no larger than 100mb vram hit walking through the rift area. I didn't notice the dancing trees though. Anyone have maybe a video example of the dancing that I can look out for? I went to 2k textures on about everything I could and even halfed the normals of the foundation and I've been really stable the past few days. I'll have to play more with the monitor though, I haven't been using it until today. Also where are you walking around so I can compare my VRAM to yours. Even just walking through the rift I haven't gone higher than 2.3 megs of vram.

I had two pine trees in the intro to helgen do the "danceing". Basically it just looks like the tree adds and removes alot of branches depending on which angle you look at it from. But yeh I can also say its about 15fps loss. As for the VRAM usage then I cannot really compare with you since we use different cards... Mine only has 2Gb while yours have more, but I can run the game with the same settings as you and use about 1k less VRAM, you properly get higher fps then me though.

Just finished my next optimization pass. Removed More village animals, and roosters at dawn and lantern caretakers. The last two because it only deals with a phenomenon that requires me to be at very specific spots at very specific times and then I would personally rather have other mods installed then those. As for more village animals, then it is to reduce the amount of stuff being loaded into the game, since I have this theory that my crashes are essentially due to memory problems with the game engine loading in more then it can handle.

I also optimized HD trees, and the realistic mushroom, and halfsized its 2k normals for the fungi on trees.

All of this allowed me to run through helgen, all the way to whiterun, back to riverwood and up towards the barrows before I got my first CTD. So a definite improvement over last time when I would CTD passing through Riverwood the first time every playthough.

But also still got a CTD after having done the barrows and walking back to Riverwood... so still too much high detail stuff in that area.

Might look abit at SMIMS next since it does add stuff all around the world and most of it is really high quality.

Hey Neo,

Going through the latest update to Realistic Needs and Diseases 1.9.2 and in the first part of the TES5Edits, there are a couple Form IDs I'm not able to find. I'm good on all of those listed below until I get to "070053E5" and "070053EC".

Repeat this for the "0003133B","0003133C","00034C5D","000508CA","00085368","000C5348","000C5349","000F693F","070053E5", and "070053EC" nodes.

I even tried filtering on those two, but nothing shows up and I'm certain I have all the right ESMs and ESPs selected (triple-checked). If those are definitely the right Form IDs, any idea why they could be missing from my end?

Wow, I really like that. I took about a 5-10fps dip depending on location (I ran from north Riverwood to the Stones) and it was fine. Really adds some depth, think I'll keep it. Thank you :)

Hi there ;] first I wanted to say that I admire the tremendous work that you put into this project, it's incredible ;]

I would like you to consider LiFE, Inhabitants of Skyrim - NPC and, Inhabitants of Skyrim - Character mods,

I haven't check them yet with Skyrim Revisited because i have got few problems

I cant rebuild BashedPatch with WryeBash, i got this info trying do so

Game is running any way but I have got another issue, saved games doesn't show in-game.

In folder with saves all has .ess.tmp extension (except those with .skse) any idea why ??

Sorry for my English ;P it's not my native ;)

Noticed moss rocks updated a couple of times, but the new version isn't dynamic anymore? Is the 1.0 gonna stay in SR then?

For the moment... yes. Will see how it progresses. I really like the dynamic shader with the moss in SR.

I will double check this tonight.

Heavy VRAM test run:

Alternate Start (Camping in the woods) -> Guardian Stones -> Embershard Mine -> Riverwood Trader -> Bleak Falls Barrow -> Whiterun.

Right now with 4k treesHD and 2048 opted main tex packs(Vanilla+SRO+SHD+Serious) with full normals I hit 2850 VRAM and generally get a crash around the fort near Bleak Falls Barrow. Obviously more I can optimize but that's how far I am ATM. Also when testing make sure all mods are actually running (Frost fall/RND, etc.)

For my test using Unreal Cinema ENB 2.3 Non-Cinematic custom configured with SMAA and disabled lens reflection.

As for the infamous tree shake... I haven't seen any problems).

I believe those may indeed be typos try the files 080053E5 and 080053EC - probably best to wait for confirmation from Neo though.
