Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

Is there any real difference in leaving .bsas unpacked vs extracting them besides ease of changing their contents?

BSAs are always overridden by loose files and as such will not properly overwrite anything loose that came before it.

Can i get a confirmation on which condition to delete in the recent update you did to GDO.

Expand "Dialog Topic">"0002707A" and select the "0002BDF1" node.

Right-click the condition regarding "Arcadia" in Guard Dialogue Overhaul.esp and select "Remove".

There are 2 conditions that mention Arcadia. The first one mentions it in the first column under Skyrim.esm. The second one in the third column under Guard Dialogue Overhaul.esp. They are both red so just wanted to confirm you only meant the second one?
Correct.. NEVER EVER get rid of anything in Skyrim.esm ;) Let me say that again, NEVER EVER touch anything in Skyrim.esm.
hi , i ve got the problem  :

there is no option on rightklick Arcadia to remove to..  only edit and some others..

whats wrong ?

everything in the guide work for me but this is the first point it doesnt

thx for help :)

Just wanted to post a "status" of how I see the overall guide progressing at this point.

Now that I've attained a good level of VRAM stability I'm going to continue my updates into the next few areas as fast as possible for the Dragonborn updates.

Once I reach the bottom I'm going to add tags to various mods such as if the mod is in STEP and if I recommend DDSOpting a mod (with/without half size normals) or not.

Then I will work ENB/Lighting followed by additional gameplay/item mods.

Neo,

I just wanted to say thank you for all of this. Skyrim is my first TES game in my 65 years, I'm a MMO/RTS guy from the get go, and I love this game. I built my rig as a 'retirement' gift to myself, no expense spared and Skyrim was my first install. One of my co workers told me about STEP and I originally ran that route, then I found your version. Man, I have had more fun than a barrel of monkeys with it. I've followed/and following every change you make on a daily basis. Do all your updates and play a bit. It has taught me a lot about modding... great stuff. I look forward to what you'll bring as far as lighting and any of the new stuff. I just wanted to say, I truly appreciate your time and devotion to this, I also noted that you were married, so I have to thank your wife as well.

Bill

Are you right clicking in the condition row or in the row that actually says "arcadia" ?

You can look out to the left where the names for the various rows are.

You should be able to right click on the condition row under the GDO esp name and say remove.

you saved my day :) - that was the mistake  ^^

im right clicking on the arcadia not the condition row ...

now ive got the remove entry..

sry for my bad english

and thx for your answer :)

Some mod additions and updates tonight.... Played around with SkyRealism ENB Cinematic Preset... damn it looks good (Slightly tweaked: DOF Disabled, External SMAA, No AF-since using driver).

Major increase in stability by half-sizing the normal maps of the big texture packs (SRO, SHD, SeriousHD)... will see if that holds true over time. Going to see about lowering some of my mods to max of 2048 as well for most mods unless it's something big like trees.

Neo - what's the procedure for running these through DDSopt by "half-sizing" the normal maps? I'm going to give this a whirl but wanted to make sure I set the correct option in DDSopt.

Also, should this be done on the original extract of say SRO, or can it be done on an already DDSopt optimized version?

On a seperate note, what specific file(s) are you using for Better Makeup for SKSE? I can't make heads or tails of that guys page updates and it appears in-game I'm not getting the files you are intending (v1.0b is the same one from earlier this week).

Thanks.

For a 2048 sized mod such as SRO you simply set the max size to 1024x1024 in the DDSOpt constraints tab.

Verify that only _n and _msn files are selected (filter *_*n.dds ).

This can be done on already opted files as DDSOpt will simply just resize them and not optimize a 2nd time.

For the record I do NOT recommend half sizing 1024 size mods... also be sure to reset your constraints to 8k x 8k when finished to save you later heartache :)

Thanks much! Come to think of it on SRO, I'm using the lower version already so I shouldn't need to do this (SRO 1024). I'll have to check on the others.

Also I updated my original post while you were replying so you missed my second question above. Thanks sir!

SKSE Makeup I updated last night with the specific names of each of the main files... hate how he arranged them... in any case one of them is 1.0b the other 3 are 1.0.

Neo - SKSE was updated again to 1.06.08. That's currently the only updated build available on his site.

The one from yesterday (1.06.07) he has removed.

I take it we go with the new one for those of us that didn't get x.07 in time?

Yes. I'll see if I can get my phone to let me edit the guide.

Edit: Updated. RaceMenu also updated.
