Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

Perk Overhauls are more "Fad of the Month" than something you can objectively say A is better than B. In general, the quality of said perks varies wildly from one tree to another.

Additionally, perk overhauls seem to never be fully completed / stable and are almost universally abandoned before long. I prefer piecemeal perk mods such as CACO since they really concentrate on one area and are generally stable after some initial churn.

I  understand .

I guess  Mods like  Skyre  spoiled  me a bit on that front .

out of curiosity , why does SRLE  not include a perk overhaul mod ?

I know  you can merge  SRLE + Regs +Perma  but why not one in SRLE  stand alone ?

Lets face it , the vanilla ones are a bit boring .

i suggest you give Ordinator a try Skyre is no longer being updated and t3ndo has stopped supporting Perma (although i belive Raulfin is  in charge of that as well as the compatbiles patches)

and Perma is a bit of a pain to get working correctly with SRLE

That looks awesome .

can i just put it underneath at the mod list ? i installed it there and it seems to have worked fine .

Also added the nessecary compatibility patches for CACO  and  the uncapper .

Will it work fine on it's own now or will i still have to redo the bashed patch ?  kinda scared to tinker with it now that everything is inside the SRLE  profile file .

I did when testing the just ran loot worked fine you will properly need to tade and barter under ordinator the carry of the 2 conflict they have. (if you get stuck have a look at my load order i have been testing and no major issue yet)

Just create a new Profile in MO that way you can have a Profile for base SRLE, one for testing and for for actually playing makes it eaiser when tinkering with patches and stuff.

I have 4 one is Vaniliia Skyrim, one is Base SRLE, one is for testing and one is for my actual Character

I have to agree with Noevalen.

There is no match for T3ndo's work, I really like the weapon variety, but it doesn't comes free, a lot of compatibility patches and reproccer modifications are required and finding o making them can be a pain in the ass sometimes.

Ordinator doesn't have this problem, at least not as severe as SkyRe/PerMa, but it doesn't have the variety that T3ndo's work has and makes it unique.

Either way, both have the same problem, most of the new perks are just clutter in the way to reach the worthy perks that, in the end, are the vanilla perks. Is not that the perks are not good, but some new perks can be replaced with enchantments or potions, they are just not worthy of spend a perk point on them.

I find the dedicated system a better option, and I must say, kyptopyr's work is the best at it, so far I'm trying:

Alchemy: CACO

Smithing: CCF-CCOR-WAFR and Smithing Perks Overhaul (new perk tree #1)

Sneak - Lockpicking - Pickpocket: Stealth Skills Rebalanced

I'm also trying Archery Gameplay Overhaul, not really a perk tree, but it works, I'll probably add Elemental Arrows. It would be awesome to have the SkyRe Archery system as a standalone overhaul.

I'm not much of a magic user, so I've not tried things like Wintermyst or Apocalypse.

I like the fact Neo doesn't have an overall perk overhaul Like skyre or PerMa cos it means the end user can chose to add one or not.

Have you played extensively with Ordinator? Are there any bugs? How would you advise on how to complete conflict resolution?

i have play on and off testing (so no actaul long play through) and no major bugs to report.

I placed Trade and barter esp under ordinator in the load order (left hand pane)

then add the 2 perks from ordintor: (in TES5Edit to my own conflict Resolution patch)

00058F7B - Investor

001090A5 - Tade prince

That way you get the changes from trade and barter and the perk changes from Ordinator.

That's quite easy, as far as compatiblility goes, lol. I was expecting an hour long process, or something. I'm defo going to try this out; would be nice to add a new 'flavour' to a new play through.

as far as compatibilty goes with SRLE Ordinator is the least painful (well when compared to PerMa) if it helps anyone out i have posted the mods i have added on top of SRLE here

Now that you mention it, I've ALWAYS wanted to do a Requiem run, but it's such a hassle to get it working with any other kinda guide. Do you have any experience with requiem and SRLE in conjunction?

i did try it out like 8 or 9 months (Until I got bored and started playing DAI) both SRLE and Requiem have undergone massive changes in that time

True, may be too much work to bother embarking on down that road.

Regardless, thanks for the insight bro. Also, good shout on the 850 Evo, I have two and they're fast as hell.

i ran into a small issue while ingame  :

While  fighting  the dragon at the watchtower , said dragon  knocked my Follower Faendal  out  and then kept wailing on him until i could pull his aggro .

After killing it  i tried to  revive him but everytime i had the  follower wheel  from EFF  pop up  instead of getting the  grab, search ,revive window .

SO waking feandall up was made impossible  unless i dismissed him first and then i still had to wait for  hours  ( ingame ) before he woke up and moved back to riverwood .

i disabled Knock out  followers  so that should hopefully  solve it .
