Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

I'm having a problem with removeing SkyTEST from my mods list for this. As soon as i remove it the game crashes at the loading point for the main menu. Any way of fixing this?

Did you also remove any patches you may have made?

Sounds like you left an esp somewhere that still requires SkyTEST.

In an unrelated tough, I think that kind of discussion, could be splitted to incentive creation of threads, and spread the information in SRs sub-forum.

Yeah now that we have our own forum going to make a few more threads rather than continuing this old one into infinity.

Maybe tonight late.

i deactivated both the main SkyTEST and the patch i made by following your guide. I will have to look through and see if there where any other patches for this mod but i thought there was only thoes two

There is a patch under Alternate Start as well. I haven't removed the text yet as I have not reached that part of the guide in my update.

Created a new Automatic Variants patch? If not, it still have SkyTest as a master, and Skyrim will crash at start.

Neo you need to clearly state in your guide that every time mods are changed, new patches have to be made (not always in fact, but this police never fail). :)

Agreed. This thread is becoming the catchall for everything.

I'm all for splitting out threads into other discussions that relate to SR users/testers/etc.

Happens to the best of us ;)

Neo, what are your plans for SeriousHD?

Any tips on how you rule some files out etc?

Test them in game? That's pretty much the only way. Also when TPC is updated I will compare vs his choices as well.

Has Open Cities Skyrim been considered for this guide? I played around with it some with STEP 2.2.1 and it seems like it would be a good fit unless there are any outstanding compatibility/stability issues.

Haven't looked at it yet... no but thought about it... yes.

Neo noted in his updates last night that he would review SeriousHD as soon as he had the time, but that it would take some effort to do compares on all of the new textures.

I think, and Neo correct me if I'm wrong, but from previous comments the goal right now is to get the Dragonborn update for SR finished with all of the updated mods that didn't deviate too far from pre-DB DLC versions. Ultimately, we all want to play a stable game ASAP right? But we're doing this at Neo's expense of time and effort - of which again, I don't think any one of us can ever say thank you enough for.

In any case back to the question, knowing how Neo has updated this in the past I would assume that he's going to continue working on getting this release as close to finished/stable and updated for the latest DLC as possible and then will go back and evaluate the mega eff-ton of new mods and major updates that have come out and we've all been discussing for the past few weeks.

That's not to say Neo won't get a wild hair and decide to do the SeriousHD review sooner, but for now I would recommend sticking with the previous version as that's what the guide is working from now. Once Neo has time to review we'll all be excited to see what steps he takes with the new textures.

@Neo - I hope I didn't speak too much for you here, just trying to help field some of the questions being lobbed your way that I think a few of us might know the answers to. Feel free to tell me to shut up at any time! :)
