Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

I disagree. I have both Mod Downloads and Mod Installs folders outside of main MO folder and I never had any problems like that.

As stated, all you need to do is to install patchers, and then (manually) copy ALL THE CONTENTS into MO Overwrites folder.

You are probably right. I never thought of that, but then again my MO uses the standard structure.

Nothing wrong with that at all. If you are having problems, you can just manually copy everything into Overwrites folder and rerun your patchers.

Ciccigomma, how do you solved the aMidianBorn Book of Silence version?

Neovalen - thanks for the amazing guide! Very good that it have all those details for no experienced modder users

I've left unchecked the golden glass armor and tsun armor (already installed before in the guide). There's no need to open Tes5Edit 'cause the new esp is fixed.

For the conflict with Guard Dialogue Overhaul, just follow the guide.

I am running into issues with aMidianBorn Book of Silence as well. Can you (or anyone) explain in more detail the best way to proceed with 1.8.5 when 1.7 is needed by the guide?

It is divided into three files: armors, unique items, and weapons. If I get all three and choose Install Everything for all three, I get the following .esps:

AMB Glass variants Lore, aMidian_Skyforge_Weapons, and Glass Variants.

AMB Glass variants Lore.esp is showing as unrecognized by BOSS.

Should I choose custom on the armor and choose none for glass and tsun and then proceed as usual?

Thanks!

In the installer MO option check only for this mod "prefer integrated fomod installer". Install each of the three files following the instructions and uncheck golden glass armor and tsun armor (because the're already installed before). After the first mod, install the second and the third in the same folder, choosing MERGE and at the end you should have only one aMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.esp and meshes and textures folders.

Another question. The Sounds of Skyrim mods have crash fix replacement esps for all of the mods. Are these recommended? The wilds and civ have steps to edit the esp' date=' but the dungeons does not but a crash fix exists on the nexus.[/quote']

NO

These are really more of a last resort than anything - the only difference is that the ESP is flagged as a master. Apparently, some crashes are solved by that, but it will throw off the ordering of the mod (it should be sorted low).

Well I have finished the guide with mixed results. I have a 7970 but using AA from Catalyst made everything slow, turned it off. Next, similar to jacktannery, only with live another life installed, if I choose the normal intro, I get a CTD right when the cart enters Helgen. I played the Vampire beginning as was able to run around but had to exit to turn off AA as even turning pages in the books was slow. I will play without AA and if I get more crashes, I may just wait until new guide and start over.

@jacktannery - Did you figure out why your game crashed during the intro?

@Trikosuave, no not really. What I did was to erase everything totally and start again from scratch, but this time I only used those mods that didn't have lots of complicated things to do: for example I left out the big-boob body one from that dodgy russian website; the book covers; bring out your dead; anything with varients or requiring SUM (the duel stuff), broken bottles thingy, and so on. I only installed the easy stuff and I was far more careful to get the Tes5Edits correct. The second time around I realised that I have made many errors all the way through in my first attempt.

Most importantly, I used 1k exterior textures mostly rather than the 2k ones I had downloaded the first time. I think that this made a huge difference. I also have a 7970 Radeon card and it runs really really fast with 2-4k interior textures and 1-2k exterior textures & ENB so that's what I recommend. I am now able to play the game perfectly (and keep gasping at the stunning beauty of it!) and was even able to install SkyRe and Apocaplyse Magic over the top without any significant trouble. Of course the moment I finished SkUi 4.0 came out but I am too scared to try it in case it breaks everything!

I don't know exactly what it was that I did wrong the first time to cause the crash, but I had made so many errors that various things would have broken in hundreds of places had I found a way to continue. For me, I'm glad I had the courage to go back and start all over again skipping the trickiest ones that I wasn't too fussed about anyway. I'm a lot more confident about installing mods now too.

I have attempted starting a few games since completing the guide and I get CTDs all over the place. Can anyone who was followed this guide to the 'T' possibly PM me their BOSS log so I can compare? Once I verify that I can go back through the guide rechecking the patches and edits.

Thanks everyone for your continued help!
