Aiyen
Yup... I am not qualified either to comment on what goes on under the hood. But I am entirely sure that the AI actually does work in different ways with DUEL on.... however if we can get a mod that does the combat without bloat then all the better. Some of my only freezes atm are during combat so this could very well be part of the cause. Link to comment
statmonster
Same here. My vague understanding is that the of other combat mods are somewhat more script heavy than Duel. IIRC Duke Patrick's caused (in a 3rd party test) a bit of stuttering in combat due to its processing requirements. Link to comment

In my new playthrough I was heading up to Bleak Falls Barrow and my fight both at the Tower and at the entrance was totally different than I remember in vanilla. Enemy archers stayed at a distance and used trees for cover, only to pop out to take a shot at me. I got flanked several times at the Tower as well. I can't really talk about staggering as I don't use melee/close combat often but I can say when I stagger its the same animation regardless of weapon hit (not sure if this is engine limited, although he says in his critique it can be varied). statmonster
Another unofficial Skyrim patch update. (1.3.2c): USKP FixesAnother debug message was accidentally left on in the weapon rack script. (Bug #12820)Two of the USKP helper quests that handle updating information for bugfixes lost their properties somehow in the CK and had to be restored.Jarl Korir's exile package for the Windhelm palace was not using the correct location marker after we fixed his AI pack.Heimskr was still finding a way to preach his message OUTSIDE the confines of his jail cell. This should finally be fixed for good now.The final Civil War government script never ran because we had stopped the Civil War quests too early. This has now been corrected so it will run properly regardless. Link to comment

statmonster
I'm getting a lot of crashing (CTD and freezes) trying to enter Riverwood. Of course it's always been a problem, but it well over 1/2 of my recent attempts to do so have resulted in a crash which seems higher than it was a few days ago. (Of course the sample sizes are small so ...) Not sure if it's SkyTest is just adding a lot of new animals there (cow, pig, many useless geese (these should at least have feathers, etc.) , rabbits in the river...) or what. Link to comment
Aiyen
If more animals are added you need to reduce their texture size in AV most likely. Link to comment
DanimalTwo
I am currently stress testing to reduce CTDs at least those in Riverwood using Skyrim Performance Monitor. With SkyTest just coming out of Helgren leads to an attack of 8 wolves. This lead me to optimized AV. I run several mods that add NPCs to Riverwood and used to crash entering the Inn there where most of the NPCs are. The problem was my extra mods were adding 6-7 people at the Inn. Solution: Used DDSopt to half size the normals for a aMidianBorn Book of Silent, since all the extra NPCs were using HD weapons and armor. I am currently going through all CTD places to figure out what compromises I need to make. I am willing to sacrifice great scenery for more people. SkyTest does add a lot of extra animals hence your probable problems. Link to comment
Aiyen
Then just reduce all textures to 1k at once.... simpler and faster! :) Link to comment

statmonster
Has anyone used TES5Edit to create a merged patch? If so, how did it work out? Link to comment
Vond
Has anyone used TES5Edit to create a merged patch? If so, how did it work out? Yes and it works fine. Just remove the leveled list entries if you use a bashed patch and have it load just before the bashed patch (or where it would be) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Link to comment
