Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

In Alternate Startt when I do:

"Expand "Dialog Topic">"00038731" and select the "0006541A" node.

Right-click on the "Conditions" line of Alternate Start - Life Another Life.esp and select "Add" twice.

Drag the two conditions from Hearthfires.esm to the two newly created slots in Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp so it contains all 4 conditions."

I only get three conditions as there were two in Hearthfires and only one in Live Another Life to start with.

Uncheck "Hide Non-Conflict Rows" and you will see 4! Magic. ;)
Thanks!

Also, is there a Dawnguard compatibility patch for EBQO? The installer seemed to imply there was but I don't see one.

I've been using the Texture Pack Combiner for awhile (and am fortunate enough to have a copy of Skyrim Realistic Overhaul still). Of course' date=' I can't help but notice that many of the mods in SR are also included in the TPC, and in the past I've been simply skipping them in favor of TPC during the installation. But you also make very specific recommendations for which files to include or leave out, and of course the installation order overwrites some textures with others - which leaves me wondering: Can you tell me whether the end result is similar?[/quote']

I used TPC as a base for part of it but made additional changes on top based upon other mods in the guide, etc. I also disagreed with some of Cestrals selections and wanted to do them myself.

The end result is actually quite different than his selections imo.

Also' date=' is the .esp for Better Embers required? I can't see that it does anything at all, but I'm certainly no expert.[/quote']

I just updated the guide based on your post to use the loose files version, if you used the BSA version you can just delete the esp. Its not required. Thanks for your post.

I believe the main file is different based on selecting Dawnguard or not.

Thank you very much for your reply! I'm about to start a new installation - this time I'll follow the guides recommendations for textures and see what I've been missing!

Were you not able to get Creation Kit to work as an MO executable?

Once you have the Creation Kit installed as an MO executable it can open any activated files within MO just like they were in the Skyrim directory.

I was able to get it set up in MO but when I would go to add a new object to my mod (a new clutter item from TESA modders resource pack, for example) CK would look for the nif file in the "real" data folder, which of course has nothing in it because it is completely vanilla. So, if I were to navigate to where the file was actually located (i.e. skyrim\data\modorganizer\mods\TESA Resource Pack\meshes\clutter\newclutteritem.nif) then the game would always look in that location for the model, when instead it needs to be looking in data\meshes\clutter\...

I guess I could then manually enter in the file path of the correct location, but I wouldnt be able to actually navigate there and select the model in CK.. Does this make sense? Not sure if im explaining it well enough but if youre familiar with how one adds new objects to CK then I think it should make sense.

The point is, it seemed like even though I was launching the executable through MO, it wasnt actually setting up or looking in the "virtual/temporary" install folders

I installed Even Better Quest Objectives 1.3, but it says it requires BetterQuestObjectives.esp. It looks like I have all the patches but not the main file. What gives? I know I'm missing something stupid but I don't get it.

It looks like the installer isn't installing the core files. Odd. Anyone else have this?

I installed today the "fixed" installer he uploaded... all worked fine (but I didn't use "integrated FOMOD installer" in MO, just the default one.

Yeh, I just d/l'ed and used MO.  I'm not sure what you mean or how to use the "default" one.  I just added the files manually from Main File (Book Covers Comparability). It left out the Dawnguard patch too.

I pretty much did the same and added the main file manually. No biggie.

A proper install for full SR using the new installer is:

BetterQuestObjectives.esp

BetterQuestObjectives-AlternateStartPatch.esp

BetterQuestObjectives-MoonlightMasteryPatch.esp

BetterQuestObjectives-NECPatch.esp

BetterQuestObjectives-PaarDilemmaPatch.esp

BetterQuestObjectives-PersidRRentalPatch.esp

BetterQuestObjectives-TheChoiceIsYoursPatch.esp

and of course the scripts folder.

All the DLC options you selected are merged into the main plugin.

This stupid FOMOD installer is giving me more trouble than necessary. I've tracked down an issue with the mod's main files not installing if you selected the Hearthfire option without having Dawnguard installed, so... hopefully, this is the last of the problems.
