Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

How much of a difference memory-wise will using the Lite Skyrim HD packs get me? I'm getting CTD around Whiterun and although my VRAM is showing 1650mb usage, in Task Manager Skyrim is eating 3.1GB...which will CTD the game, right?

DDSOpting the big "foundation" textures helped loads for me. Not sure about exact numbers, but I would recommend the lite Skyrim pack as well if your seeing issues

@neovalen- a suggestion for the wiki now that an ENB is part of SR would be to provide instruction on what changes should be reversed in nvidiainspector.exe for use with the ENB.

Unless you're a regular here and experienced user, many may simply not know that some of the setup early in the guide re: nvidiainspector needs to be undone.

Just a thought...

Just finished the most recent updates (as of 5/7/13), game is running great! I noticed my character sheathes his 1H sword behind his back yet still has a sheath on his hip. He has got a shield on his back too. Is this supposed to be like this or did I mess up some animations installs? As always, thanks for the help and great work!

I'd check your install options for Immersive Animations. Also try unequip reequip.

Im new to STEP and the forums so I would like to say hello to everyone before commenting. I decided to try the SR guide and follow it as closely as possible. However, as a wrye bash user, I found Mod Organizer to be a little difficult. Dont get me wrong, there are MANY features of MO that I like and would love to see in wrye bash (i.e. direct nexus download and ability to tag mod packages with categories). At the end of the day though, it was just too much of a change and I felt too restricted having to channel ALL of my mod-making and mod-using tasks through the MO interface. Creation Kit was a mess.. If I wanted to add some resources to a project im working on (i.e. new weapons or armor models), I CK would not be able to "see" them.. so I would have to install the resources into the actual Data folder instead the MO virtual Data folder. Anyways, this is merely one example of one issue that I found when trying to use the MO program as my sole utility for modding activities. Unfortunately, I have switched back to using wrye bash, but have continued to use and enjoy the rest of the SR guide. I feel that MO is more suited for average mod users and a little too restrictive for advanced users and/or mod makers.

Its too bad, because I was really liking the idea of keeping the native Data folder 100% clean and vanilla.. I think that is a really great idea.. Maybe with some updates to the MO program it will become more viable of an option for me. As to the rest of the SR guide, it has gone really well and I appreciate your hard work. Thanks for always keeping it up to date too; I notice how you update it many times per week on average and it definitely reassures that everything is current and reliable. Cheers

Were you not able to get Creation Kit to work as an MO executable?

Once you have the Creation Kit installed as an MO executable it can open any activated files within MO just like they were in the Skyrim directory.

This. Only restriction is any files you CREATE will go to overwrite where you have to retrieve them.

Hi Neo,

As per your last update, you added DSAMG - Dragon Soul More Glorious, in which you recommend version 1.2 and MUSIC 1 - E3 DEMO VERSION for male character, MUSIC 1A - E3 DEMO VERSION for female character. As per the files available on mod's page there isn't any version 1.2 for subject reccomendations nor any clarification between male and/or female.

Is this a typo from your side or I am missing something?

Thanks!

I think he's saying if you play a male character load the one and if you play a female load the other.  If you play both, pick one.

I see. Thanks for the reply dem1an. That might be the case. Still though, none of the 2 options are versioned as 1.2; MUSIC 1 is v.1.0 and MUSIC 1A is v.1.1.

Anyway, I just thought I should mentioned that to Neo just in case it slipped his attention.

He does say to install the ritual spell animation - but from the Dragonborn patch.

Right. The anim script is from the Dragon born patch (original not needed as its 100% overwritten).

1.2 is the "overall" version number. 1 and 1a both have different version #'s your right.

The nice thing with MO is you can pick pick and just quickly toggle from one to the other.

Anyone have any opinion on which of the any options is "best"?
