GrantSP Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 So I'm back after Power Supply and main SSD death, Anyone miss me?No, not really!
GrantSP Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Out of curiosity, what sort of SSD did you have and how did it fail?
Audley Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I was actually wondering just today what happened to you! Good to see you again. :)
Guest Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I hear black cats with giant deadly horns on their heads can sometimes clumsily bump into your electronics. Kind of deadly to them though if you have 1000w power supplies.
Nozzer66 Posted October 4, 2016 Author Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) Out of curiosity, what sort of SSD did you have and how did it fail?Power spike. Got more than just the PSU and SSD. Killed the Microwave, Fridge, Toaster, Kettle, Sandwich Maker and Washing Machine as well. Luckily the TV and PS4 are plugged into a surge protected power board... Samsung SSD, like in the sig. Not that worried, insurance paid for it all. Just the time is all. But will have a new machine after XMAS anyway so no biggie. Edited October 4, 2016 by Nozzer66

Snowelf12 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Wow bad. do you know the 840 evo has a speed problem it gets slower over timehttps://www.overclock.net/t/1512915/read-speeds-dropping-dramatically-on-older-files-benchmarks-needed-to-confirm-affected-ssds I have one had to install in firmware to fix it and have to check it now and again to make sure its not dropping.
Nozzer66 Posted October 4, 2016 Author Posted October 4, 2016 I do, yes. But it only needs to hang together till XMAS when the new system shall be unleashed.
