MO 2.0.6 create boost_interprocess folder.

Question

Posted

So every time I start MO 2.0.6 it create an folder in "C:\ProgramData" named boost_interprocess\1465133019\ with a file "__shm_sink_usvfs" this look way too suspicious. So what does this do? I have found no mention of it. And acording to Procmon.exe it is created by ModOrganizer.exe https://i.imgur.com/Q6dPKUI.png

I did an malwarebytes, AdwCleaner, and ESET nod32 scan before finding out it was from MO2, and I did download it from https://github.com/TanninOne/modorganizer/releases.

Believe it or not, some programs actually need to create files! ProgramData folder is similar to the user AppData folder, where more programs tend to put their stuff. Boost is a library the Mod Organizer uses, and the file you see being created has something to do with the virtual file system that Mod Organizer creates. This is all normal and expected behavior.

Does Mod Organizer always create this folder in ProgramData regardless of where it's installed or is this folder being created in Program Data because it's installed in Program Files and is being redirected to ProgramData by Windows?
