Better Beast Races Hidden on Nexus
mentaltyranny replied to mentaltyranny's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I actually found a couple sites with his mods. However, I am not sure which is the "Lite" version. If any one with STEP installed can get me the file size for the Lite version, I will host a Dropbox link for it until you guys figure out a replacement. -
Better Beast Races Hidden on Nexus
mentaltyranny replied to mentaltyranny's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Wow... that's so disappointing. I absolutely love his work. Looking further down, it looks like XCE - Xenius Character Enhancement is available but XCE-Dawnguard is hidden. No idea why there is inconsistency. Why would someone do this? I have a tiny FO3 mod on nexus, and I think it would take more time than it is worth to take it down. Ugh, it is his work so it is his decision, I was just hoping that this was a mistake. Is there really no way else to get this? Do anybody know the file sizes for Better Beast Races (Lite) and XCE-Dawnguard? I am pretty resourceful with the right information... -
Better Beast Races by Xenius has, accordingly to my research, disappeared since at least May 5th. Considering that this is STEP Core, I am in trouble. I hope it isn't required for STEP Patches. I managed to find v2.00 on fileplanet of all places, its 99.5 MB. However the STEP wiki page says to use the "lite" version, and I don't think that is it. Does anybody know where else to find this file or can anyone send it to me? Any help is appreciated! Also, I have a feeling that this is not the only STEP Core or Extended mod by Xenius. If anybody knows where to get the others, again, I would be greatfull! Finally, if I mis-posted in the wrong subforum, thanks in advance for moving my topic!

i thought for sure this wasn't the problem, but I think it worked . Thanks !

I've been playing using this guide for well over 50 hours now. I did not have any other problems. I haven't messed with my mods since starting a new game. I have followed this guide at roughly 95%. Recently I have been getting crashes when entering a new zone. The crash says "out of memory". It is getting more and more frequent. I have loaded up a save from well before, and there appear to be no crashes. As and aside, On the doctors, the cyber-ware option was leading to a crash when installing a new piece of cyber-ware. Interestingly when loading up an earlier save with the same configuration, cyber-ware worked just fine. I tried the New Vegas save cleaner on nexus, and after configuring it to work with mod organizer, it fixed the cyber-ware, but not the out of memory issues. I've also tried reducing my total amount of save files from 1000 to 100, but that doesn't seem to help... I really believe it is save file corruption or bloating, I still have the dead bodies in Good Springs after saving Ringo, and I am a completionist and have already met Mr. House. Is there some way I can fix this?

I have followed the guide at about 95%, including the delay dlc mod. Considering that the game ends at completion of the main quest, I really want to pace myself and do the dlcs when they appear. I just got the Seirra Madre invitation on the radio and I am level 8. I thought after playing fallout 3 (where i also did a delay dlc) I would be fine to start this early. However, when I got there I saw the message recommended level 20, so I am a little confused. Is the level 20 recommendation only for vanilla? Should I be able to handle this dlc? I feels right to do it now...

Quick question: Is Advanced Recon Tech.esp purposely left out of the Advanced Recon Merge? It lists only: Advanced Recon Gear.espAdvanced Recon Armor.espDetect Traps - Perk.espDetect Traps - Traponator 4000.espAdvanced Recon Range Finder.espAdvanced Recon Patches.esp Also notice that step 15 moves Advanced Recon Tech.esp to the Optional ESPs box. Following this procedure exactly will leave Advanced Recon Tech.esp out of both load order and merge. Just checking!

I have followed the guide. I just got Willow. She is my first companion. She is following me around, but I have not done her quest. I can not get JIP C&C to recognize her. It say "You do not have any companions" in the top right. I can't force add her either. I googled, but could not find an answer. Any ideas?

I am not quite sure what you mean. Won't a ILO - Willow patch help address this specific issue?
-
Did you guys see that the ILO installer has an compatibility patch for NV Willow which isn't mentioned on F&L? In order to use it you have to install it after Willow, not before... This time I am going to assume you guys already knew this. Just curious as to why! Thanks guys for your hard work!

Auto Aim Fix from Wyre Flash NV
mentaltyranny replied to mentaltyranny's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Thanks! I looked everywhere, including Project Nevada... must have missed it... -
Me again! I was digging around the bashed patch options and came across "Combat: Auto Aim Fix" to the game tweaks section. After doing some research, it looks like bullets in vanilla new vegas "curve" towards the nearest torso mid flight. This is especially disadvantageous when firing at a head just over cover (bullet hits the cover) or when not firing at your closest enemy (bullet curves away from target towards closer enemy). Apparently the problem is made even worse by VATS. Again, I am curious why F&L is not using this... does another recommended mod already fix issue? Or should it be added to the guide? Thanks!
-
I know that they are not in the Fear and Loathing guide, but I was wondering the feasibility of integrating JSawyer - Ultimate Edition and Cirosans Classic Overhaul into the recommended mods? Both are now compatible with Project Nevada, and have really interesting features. JSawyer seems like a good collection of fixes and tweaks coming directly from the original game designer. Cirosans mod looks really good too, I really like the VATS changes and the companion limit set to Charisma/2, which is strangely missing from Project Nevada (especially since it was in Fallout 3 Wanders Edition). Basically, before I take the time to install, test, and play these mods, I was wondering why they were excluded from the list. I am hoping that I can benefit from wisdom of others before I waste my time. Also, I am somewhere better than a beginner but worse than an expert at FNVedit. I was wondering the feasibility of extracting these features from these mods.

Yuki Mods Merged in F&LNV
mentaltyranny replied to mentaltyranny's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Oops, can a moderator please move this into the Support subforum for me? I didn't see it... -
Hey Guys and Gals, I am following the F&L guide near exactly. I am at the point where you add Bash Tags to Yuki Mods Merged and for some unknown reason it is NOT including the Actors.AIPackages tag. I have every one of Yuki's tweaks and followed the guide exactly using Merge Plugins Standalone 2.1.3.0 and FNVedit 3.1.2. Anyone know why? If it is essential can I use FNVedit to type it into the file header manually? Here is the FNVedit report: Also, quick question while I am here, should I generate bash tags for Advanced Recon Merged? The guide does not say either way...
