  1. Nebulous 112, I cannot find where I was told to go ahead and check the box to have all the BSA files unpacked. As you know, I erroneously started out using the SR:LE approach (thinking I was using the official STEP approach). It's very possible that this option was mentioned early in that approach, right before one of you moderators pointed out that I was using the incorrect (for me, at this time) approach to getting a clean Skyrim up and running.
  2. P.S. ALSO, someone told me, or the instructions stated earlier, that the BSA files go in the left pane of MO, and the ESP files go in the right pane of MO. SO, IF I double-click on, say "Brawl Bugs Compatibility Edition" in the left pane, isn't that the BSA file? If I then open the FileTree tab and do NOT see a BSA file listed (which was the question someone asked me earlier, then what the heck is the "Brawl Bugs Compatibility Edition" that's sitting in the left pane of MO? Either way, as soon as I moved the "Brawl Bugs CE.esp" to the upper pane under Optional ESP's, it disappeared from the right pane of MO. It IS listed under the "optional" folder in the FileTree for "Brawl Bugs Compatibility Edition". BUT, under Archives, in the window below where "Have MO manage archives" is checked, the ONLY things listed are the initial Skyrim bsa's, and the DLC bsa's (including the three HighRes Texture Packs).
  3. Sorry about the time between your response and mine...just got up (5:30a, PST, US). Anyhoo, so when I read that, at that point in the installation, I assumed that I was supposed to let MO unpack everything from that point forward. I'm going to check all of the Detailed Instructions again to see where the heck I saw that. Well, now, THAT's INTERESTING. In the Detailed Instructions for Fuz Ro D'oh, it says to create an ini file. OK, no problem. BUT, where am i REALLY supposed to put it? The reason that I ask is that, since Fuz Ro D'oh has been unpacked, there's a SKSE folder UNDER the Fuz Ro D'oh Data folder. It has a plugins folder within that. This is at <Data><Fuz Ro Doh><SKSE><plugins>. BUT, if I scroll to <Data><SKSE> folder, there's NO Plugins folder within that (I assume because every time a MOD added a plugin, it placed it within its MOD-specific Data Folder. What's your recommendation? Should I REALLY go back and redo all of this and NOT let Mod Organizer unpack everything? OR, should I just let it sit? Which approach will lead to the better, smoother-playing game?!!! Advice, please!! Meanwhile, I'll keep looking for where I THOUGHT I saw the need to unpack all the bsa's.
  4. Yes, it is unpacking it during the installation. I start to install it with MO, I get the window that states "No game data on top level", I right-click on "data" and set that as the Data Directory. The next window shows <data> BWS.bsa BWS.esp and Looks Good I click OK and it installs in a split second. BUT, it must be unpacking the bsa file when it does so. Do I need to do this one manually? MO has been default unpacking since about the first mod. Please don't tell me I gotta go back and do all this over...although I will to get the desired result. It was not unpacking bsa's earlier, but somewhere in there, near the beginning, I could have sworn that there were instructions to go ahead let MO unpack 'em as it installed 'em. So, I selected that, and it's been doing so automatically since the beginning (207 mods ago, left pane).
  5. No, there isn't. There are two folders (optional, which has the BWS.esp file in it, and sound, which consists of files only, no bsa and no esp) and the meta.ini file. That's it. The title at the top of the window says Better Weapon Swing Sounds.
  6. Yes, Better Weapon Swing Sounds mod is checked in the left pane. I cannot right-click on BWS.eps in the right pane, as it is no longer there (it disappeared as soon as I double-clicked on Better Weapon Swing Sounds in the left pane, selected Optional ESPs, highlighted BWS.esp and moved it from the lower pane to the upper pane...it's still sitting right there in the upper pane). I then open FileTree in that same window, and BWS.esp is listed under "optional" folder, and is listed as BWS.esp. BUT when I close that window, selecte the Archives tab in the right pane, there is NO BWS.esp listed. There is no optional folder listed.
  7. I am now in STEP 2292 Section 2.K. I have just installed Better Weapon Swing Sounds. Following STEP Detailed Instructions, I moved the optional file BSW.esp from the lower pane to the upper pane. [i believe that this is the second file for which this has been recommended, outside of the initial HighRes files]. All of the HighRes Files, moved at the beginning of this STEP 2292 Approach are in the "Have MO manage Archives section under the right pane Archives Tab. However, neither of the two Esp files that I have moved subsequently have appeared in that listing. I have closed and restarted MO, nothing changed. I've rerun LOOT, no errors. Any guidance here? Got any idea where these two optional esps went, and/or where they should physically be located in the file structure? Thanks!!
  8. Oops, missed that part. Thanks. Back at it!
  9. Yes, I, too, am familiar with that Windows Oddity. But, in this case, it simply wasn't there, until I just removed all the TES5Edit files, and then put 'em all back. I didn't install it or anything, just physically deleted, then dumped another copy in on top of where it'd been. The dumped one works fine. The other one had worked fine, then stopped a couple of days ago. So, remaining question. Is it safe to do the same thing with LOOT? I.e., I'm getting nothing when I run it, either. Should I just delete and redump, as I did with TES5Edit? Or will removing LOOT mess up MO somehow? Thanks!!
  10. Yes, I did check "create backup". But, no file showed up there after I cleaned Birds and Flocks, OR after I cleaned Brows. I dunno where it's putting 'em. I FOUND 'EM. TES5Edit, despite being installed exactly according to the STEP Guidelines created a TES5Edit Backups folder under <Skyrim><mods><Birds and Flocks> and under <Skyrim><mods><Brows> and put the respective backup files into those folders. I have no idea why it didn't dump 'em into overwrite. I just double-checked the TES5Edit setup again, and it's still correct. Am I going to need to go manually deleted all of these created backup folders?
  11. I ran TES5Edit on BirdsHS.esp, generated BirdsHSclean.esp, and exited....all done correctly. Then I saw Step 9: If using Mod Organizer, there will be an empty xEdit Backups folder in Overwrite (essentially a fake mod located at the bottom of the left pane if sorted by priority ascending) created by xEdit after cleaning. Double-click Overwrite and delete the empty folder. I double-clicked on Overwrite, but the popup box is empty already. Is that a concern?
  12. Is LOOT supposed to do anything when you run it, other than giving a similar "MO is locked while running" screen? IF so, is it safe to just delete LOOT and then drop in another copy, like I've just done with TES5Edit? That worked for TES5Edit!! Thank you! I was afraid to just do that. I deleted all files associated with TES5Edit, closed MO, reopened MO, dropped in the replacement TES5Edit, where it had been before, and it appears to work fine, now. What about LOOT? Same thing?
  13. That worked just fine. I didn't receive an error this time....now, if I could just figure out why nothing happens when I run LOOT or TES5Edit or anything, despite the fact that they all appear to be set up correctly. But, that's my other, currently-pending question. This one's done. And THANK YOU!!
  14. Yup, I just double-checked everything, as contained on your hyperlink. And all was set up exact. Is there a way to remove TES5Edit and Re-install it as a drop-down without affecting anything in my setup so far? As in, would that make it work correctly?
  15. I found TES5Edit_log.txt in my Skyrim root directlory. Curiously, it's dated 1/13/16. It hasn't updated since. NEITHER has loadertxt.txt or Plugins.txt, despite the fact that I've been adding mods with MO for the past two days!?? The last few lines of TES5Edit_log.txt state: TES5Edit 3.1.2 starting session 2016-01-13 17:27:14 Using Skyrim Data Path: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\ Using ini: C:\Users\owner\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini Using plugin list: C:\Users\owner\AppData\Local\Skyrim\Plugins.txt Using settings file: C:\Users\owner\AppData\Local\Skyrim\Plugins.tes5viewsettings Loading active plugin list: C:\Users\owner\AppData\Local\Skyrim\Plugins.txt Found BOSS load order list: C:\Users\owner\AppData\Local\Skyrim\loadorder.txt Double-checking, again, TES5Edit.exe and the rest of my "executables that can be started through MO" all appear to be set up correctly. Alll of the Title, Binary, Start in lines have the correct entries and, with respect to TES5Edit, the Arguments line has the correct entry. What the heck am I doing wrong? Or am I mixing apples and oranges again. FWIW the Plugins.tes5viewsettings file reads as follows: [frmMain] WindowState=0 Left=1183 Top=479 Width=977 Height=693 DontBackup=0 [usage] TotalTime=0.00555555555555555 EditWarnCount=6
  16. aMidianBorn Book of Silence - Unique Items is still sitting right where it had been. Is there some easy way to find out (through MO...like with the FileTree) whether the "Hotfix" actually was made? And, do I need to worry about that error message? Okay, I've narrowed my question down. I manually unzipped the hotfix file, checked out the creation date and time and compared it to the creation date and time in the meshes-weapons-staffofmagnus folder and they were identical. So, my remaining question is, may I safely ignore the error I got after the merge was completed? Or does that mean I need to check out something else?
  17. Yes, it's set up as instructed. I selected Birds and Flocks (left pane) and BirdsHFclean.esp (right pane), then selected TES5Edit from the drop-box, then select Run. I get a message stating that MO is Locked while executable (TES5Edit) is running, then nothing. No pop-up window.
  18. AHHH, I'd not thought of doing that. The problem I had was, if I'd been able to download it with MO, it would have presented me with that option when I installed it. But this Hotfix didn't have a MO Download option. Thank you. And, thank you, as well, concerning timing of WryeBash! Back at it. Well, I tried it, and when I selected "merge", it APPEARED to install the MOD, but then I got an error message stating "aMidianBorn Book of Silence - Unique Items not found". I clicked OK, but have no idea whether the Staff of Magnus Hotfix was merged with the file, or not.??
  19. P.S. I have another question, related to this aMidianBookofSIlence Mod(s). There's a STEP Warning that states: Warning: The Bashed Patch must be used (instructions later in the Guide) when installing the Content Addon! Failing to do so will cause issues (e.g., naked NPCs). Does this mean that, even though there are instructions for installing the Content Addon at the bottom of the page, I should hold off doing so, and install it later with WryeBash? Or does that mean, go ahead and install the Content Addon now (which I did), and then just make sure to run WryeBash later? I'd appreciate clarification on this. Thanks!
  20. I downloaded and installed the Staff of Magnus Hotfix. I did not see any option to install it into another Mod. But the Addon, Hotfix and Path Fix Instructions (under aMidianBornBookofSilence) states that I need to: "Download and install the Staff of Magnus Hotfix (into aMidianBorn Book of Silence - Unique Items)". I cannot find any available button or switch or right-click option to do this. What I did was load "Staff of Magnus Hotfix" immediately after "aMidianBorn Book of Silence - Unique Items" in the left pane of Mod Organizer. Or is that what the instructions mean? Help, please.
  21. By the way, why are there never any responses on this list until about 1pm PST US? Just Curious.
  22. I've installed Birds and Flocks. STEP states TES5Edit Cleaning Required. I select TES5Edit in the drop-down list, select Run. I get a message stating that MO is Lockes while TES5Edit is running. Then, nothing. I do not get the window in which I'm to deselect the mods, and then double-click on Birds and Flocks so I may run the cleaner. Help, please. If it helps any, I get two messages down below. The first stays "initweaks.ini saved". The second says "lockedorder.txt saved."
  23. I FINALLY figured out what I was doing incorrectly. So, for all the others out there who manage to miss KEY words, I have been "hiding" files from within the Data tab on the right-side pane of Mod Organizer. It wasn't until I got to the install for HD Enhanced Terrain, and the Directions stated to hide a file, that I could not FIND that file, in the righ-hand pane. THAT's when I noticed the BLUE WORDS --> FileTree. D'OH!! So, after suring the net how-to's for Dummies, NOW, I'm doing all "hiding" from the FileTree under the left-side pane of Mod Organizer. All I need to do is right-click the mod name, select "Information" at the bottom of the popup window, and then select the FileTree Tab. We're cookin' with petrolatum deep-heat rub now!!! 8-) Again, thanks to all of you EVEN-TEMPERED moderators and experimenters for your sage advice. I've never used Mod Organizer before, but I'm CERTAINLY going to stick with it from now on...learning as I go. And now back to our regularly scheduled program, which is already in progress...
  24. Nope, or at least I'm not getting this part. If I scroll down to "barset" folder, then right-click on the "barset" folder name, I only get two options, neither of which is "hide": Write to file refresh "barset", at the moment, contains: bar01.dds Tobes Highres Textures bar01_n.dds Tobes Highres Textures barset01.dds STEP Vanilla Optimized Textures - Standard Version barset01_n.dds STEP Vanilla Optimized Textures - Standard Version So, I can hide each Tobes texture individually, but I do not see how to hide the entire "barset" folder, as is implied on its Detailed Instructions Available page. Help, please. Or, if the Detailed Instructions Available state to hide the entire "barset" folder, that really means to open that "barset" folder, and hide ALL files contained in that folder, individually, regardless of source?
