SRLE Extended: Legacy of The Dragonborn
Diana_TES_GotH replied to Darth_mathias's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I've been researching the best settings for my GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 750M. So far I'm just playing around with a variety of settings to see which one I prefer. Why does everyone say to choose these settings for TESV.exe when it is actually the skse_loader.exe that is most often used? No where have I seen anyone refer the importance of this. Given that SKSE is the launcher app for Skyrim, I would think it would be recommended in any GPU settings along with TESV.exe. Regardless, I will be making certain that the settings will apply to all the executable files for Skyrim, including the Creation Kit, unless I am misunderstanding how these settings will affect the other applications. -

That would be good experience for me. Would he be patient with me as I stumble to learn how to properly edit? -

Darth_mathias, DarkladyLexy, Paul666root and Nozzer66 I am finally putting Skyrim Performance Monitor back into my Skyrim testing for personal reference. Do any of you wish for me to submit benchmark reports, and if so please instruct me in the best manner to do so. I would love to help you all out in any way I can. This has been the best team to communicate with and learn from. If there is anything you need volunteers for just let me know. Editing in the Wiki is new to me, but I have joined the UESP Wiki team and still have much to learn, as the most I have contributed so far is my own User Page and uploading a couple of screenshots for TES I: Arena...lol... -

Have you tried completely remove the enb files and INIs, especially the enblocal.ini from the Skyrim directory just to make certain it isn't the culprit? You can move it to your desktop to save the file for restoration after testing. Also, I noticed that ENB Organizer didn't properly inject the enblocal.ini into my Skyrim directory. The INI from the ENB Organizer files did not match the INI from the one it placed in my Skyrim directory. I ended uninstalling ENB Organizer and managing the ENB files manually in my Skyrim directory. -

Another thing that I just remembered. Make certain that if have tweaked your GPU to manage FPS, AA, and so forth, that you disable it in your INI files. This can cause CTDs as well. For example, I have Nvidia Inspector manage my FPS and Vsync; therefore I do not enable it in any of the INI files. -

I've been racking my brain trying to remember. I should start keeping a record of the solutions I find. I remember for certain that I had to play around with the enblocal.ini to solve the issue of CTD when sleeping in the bed at the prison. I also remember having to make a couple of tweaks in Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini even after using BethINI and following the guide. I basically used the key words related to my CTD to troubleshoot the issue. I will start a log of issues I may run into in the future. I am reinstalling the guide myself right now, so I may come upon the same issues soon. I wish I could be better help right now though. :( I know how frustrating it is. -

Hmmm, I remember having to trouble shoot CTDs several times from my own installation. It usually came down to an ini tweak of some sort. Have you double checked your Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini settings? -

I had to change my enblocal.ini to [GLOBAL] UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true UseDefferedRendering=false After you have reached your destination and save, you should be able to set it back. -

I wasn't able to edit the changes I made: [browser] tab (upper window) Select the Texture folder that you wish to optimize (e.g. Mod Body Textures, or Mod Exterior Normal Maps, etc…) Check the "Show Recursive" box below the center text-box. Make certain all files are selected. In the center text box, type "*_s.dds" and then click [Apply]. Click the red [X] to deselect all files. Clear the center box and click [Apply]. Click [Process] to begin optimizing the textures. [browser] tab (lower window) Mod Optimized Change the Constraints settings to R8G8B8/A8R8GG8B8/L8/A8L8 with Uncompressed=2048x2048. Clear the center box and click [Apply]. Click the red [X] to deselect all files. In the center text box, type "*_s.dds" and then click [Apply]. Click the green checkmark to select all filtered files. Clear the center box and click [Apply]. Click [Process] to begin optimizing the textures. -

How does this look as the settings I plan to use for all my textures with my re-installation? Guide:DDSopt/Skyrim Download v2.82 batch files referenced in the Guide (updated January 28, 2016) Working Directory 1. Create a "Working Directory" folder. 2. Create a "Mod Extracted" subfolder. 3. Extract the mod to be optimized into the "Mod Extracted" folder. 1. Run 4_Mod_Sorting_Pre-optimization_2.81.bat 2. Launch DDSopt. Behave menu (check following settings, other selections must be unchecked): In Textures sub-menu, check following settings :Produce partial derivative tangent-space normal-mapsRaise Normal-map steepness each mip levelGamma-Correct mip-map filtering fir color-mapsIn Normal-map steepness raise sub-menu :Set 1.75xIn Foliage-map opacity raise sub-menu :Set 2.0xSet g^2.2Set c^1.5In colour-map gamma sub-menu :In Alpha-map contrast sub-menu Apply menu (check following settings, other selections must be unchecked): Re-compress and re-mip all textures (DDS)Compress all known image-formats (PNG,BMP,etc.)Ignore menu (check following settings, other selections must be unchecked): Don't process any high dynamic range images (DDs, HDR, etc.)Copy unprocessed and ignored files (passthrought) Compression menu : Set it to 10 (maximum) Setting menu (check following settings, other selections must be unchecked): Skip existing filesSkip older filesSkip hidden filesUnselect inappropriateWrite logfileIn the Broswer tab set your texture directory source with the top "Browser" and set your output directory with the bottom "Brower". 3. Use the Constraints tab to cap your texture size and quality: For more Performance use DXTx for *.dds, *_msn.dds, *_n.dds textures. For Higher Quality always use R8G8B8/A8R8GG8B8/L8/A8L8 for all *_s.dds textures. This constraint can be used for all textures if you prefer the higher quality over performance. Mod Body Textures = R8G8B8/A8R8GG8B8/L8/A8L8 with Uncompressed=2048x2048 Move Mod Normal Maps to Mod Ordinary Textures = DXTx with Uncompressed=2048x2048 Move Mod Exterior Normal Maps to Mod Ordinary Textures = DXTx with Uncompressed=1024x1024 [browser] tab (upper window) Select the Texture folder that you wish to optimize (e.g. Mod Body Textures, or Mod Exterior Normal Maps, etc…) [browser] tab (lower window) Mod Optimized 4. Click [Process] to begin optimizing the textures The optimization is complete. The Mod Optimized directory will now have folders with optimized textures for all the mods that were extracted. The Optimized files can now be archived for installation. Use DDSopt on each individual mod before running DynDOLOD if you use it. -

This has been one of my guides as well. The one thing that confuses me however is the Constraint settings as DXTx for *.dds, *_msn.dds, *_n.dds and R8G8B8/A8R8GG8B8/L8/A8L8 for *_s.dds. I understand the DXTx settings is the performance friendly settings, but I believe that is what caused the purple tint on the females and children I had experienced during my last installation. I think when I get to the body mods again, I will only use the R8G8B8/A8R8GG8B8/L8/A8L8 for all the Constraint settings. What has been your experience? This is what I used to complete my setup. This definitely helped me a lot. Alkira. -

What about Skyrim Reloaded - SKGE. I have used it before and I love it. I also loved the one for Oblivion. In the forums it says it is compatible with ENBoost. Do you see me having any compatibility issues using it with this guide given that it's basically just a SKSE plugin? -

I didn't think so either, but the author posted they are incompatible. However, I just found this reddit post link and I am definitely going to give them a try. Even the Vivid Weather ENB performance version hit my system too hard, but I want something and Imaginator is highly recommended. -

Thank you. I see now that the mods I was considering will not be compatible. I look at these posted on the link tomorrow to see if any of them will suit my system. Otherwise I'll just have to use ENBoost without an ENB Preset. -

I've been fooling around with different ENB's and non ENB Visual Enhancement mods all day. No matter the ENB, my FPS drops drastically. I have finally decided to go with Imaginator and Dynavision. Do you know of any reason why these would conflict with the SRLE: LOTD setup, and do you have any other recommendations? -

I used Razor, but didn't like it because it messes with my background processes such as the ability to print, moving files between drives, etc... I have uninstalled it altogether because it didn't maintain my settings to prevent it from doing such things. Hialgo has been recommended on several forums and I don't believe it'll hurt to try. Also, it will support ENB with a few tweaks. -

Yes, I have downloaded and used all the Wyrmstooth patches in my previous installations. I don't get rid of any of my old mods...lol... -

I have installed Hialgo Boost to test out on my system. With Vanilla Skyrim it seems fine so far. I am going to go back and reinstall the guide again (for the 4th time...lol). I am starting out with the WIP guide. I had all the old programs, Real Ice, all the Spice of Life, the Parrallax fix, etc... I even have Wyrmstooth. Do you recommend I leave these out of my next installation? -

The performance issues are mostly exterior. DynDOLOD hasn't given me any problems, and I also made certain to install it as performance friendly. I ran the TEXGen @ 128 and DynDOLOD at 512 and Low. All mods that offered lower quality textures with installed with those, and I also used DDSopt to optimize all my textures to : Body Textures = Uncompressed=2048x2048 Exterior Normal Maps = Uncompressed=1024x1024 Exterior Textures = Uncompressed=1024x1024 Normal Maps = Uncompressed=2048x2048 Ordinary Textures = Uncompressed=2048x2048 I did take a performance hit after installing the flora mods, but they look beautiful and I would rather keep them. Without ENB I stay steady around 35-40 FPS in exterior. Thank you all for the suggestions, and anything you can think of that will help is very much appreciated. This team is awesome! -

If I decide to just use Enboost and turn off the ENB altogether will that effect the Vividian installation. Should I undo my merge and uninstall Vividian, or leave it as is? -

My specs: Computer Info: Motherboard: Dell Inc. Inspiron 7737 Processor: Intel® Core i7-4510U CUP @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz RAM: 16.0 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M Hard Disks: Standard Disk Drive Power Supply: CORD, POWER, 125V, 2.5A, 1M, C5; BATTERY, PRIMARY, 58WHR, 4C, LITHIUM, SANYO Case or Enclosure: Laptop Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor Audio Equipment: Dell USB Audio Speakers Input Devices: Logitach HID-compliant keyboard and mouse, Xbox 360 wireless Controller OS: Windows 10 I was able to play the SRLE and I also had a performance hit from the ENB with it as well. However, it's an even greater performance buster with all the extra flora overhaul. That's why I'm thinking I should find an alternative to ENB. When I turn it off, FPS boosts by 20. And I am not using the Brute Force. -

ENB is just killing my performance. I can barely reach 20 FPS in many areas now. I am going to try to find an alternative to Vividian ENB. Even though I installed the performance friendly version and turned off the extras not only during installation, but also within the enbseries.ini, it is still not playing well on my system.
