I will try playing with TES5Edit and try what you two suggested. For now what I did was renamed the Vividian - Weather Patch CoT - ESS + SS to CoT Weatherpatch ESS.esp. Now realistic nights sees what its looking for and it works. Probably no the best solution, but if I cannot edit the values to what I like, then I guess this will suffice. A pretty ghetto solution I think lol

Is there a way to make the torches brighter with your exterior darkness mod? I personally think they are too dim. I prefer to level of torch brightness I get with Realistic Nights. I can naviagte by torch at night, with your darkness mod I cannot. I unfortunetly cannot run realistic nights along side your mod as there is a conflict with your weather patch. In order for Realistic Night CoT.esp to work, I need to have the CoT Weatherpatch ESS.esp active. It seems that if I run that patch along side your weather patch, I break the snow weathers again. Any ideas on how to make realistic nights work with your enb? Or is there an ini or something I can edit to raise the torch brightness?

EDIT: Deleted my whole post as I think I figured out part of the problem. The Vividian - Weather Patch CoT - ESS + SS patch is overwriting SS rain as per the NNAM Precipitation type. I swapped the order of those two. And Sat for 24 hours a by chance a rain storm came and it looked like whats its supposed to. I tried fw c8220 to see what would happen and the rain went back to vanilla. Loaded up TS5Edit again and it throws up and error telling me that SS.esp and Vividian - Weather Patch CoT - ESS + SS patch are in the wrong order. Okay guys, I guess Im a dummy. Its working fine. I WAS using the wrong codes it looks like, perhaps the video I linked had a different mod setup. But the code I was entering (fw c8220) is for vanilla rain. But if I enter (fw 0b044831) it works. Sorry for doubting you vidian. :(

Im not familiar enough with TSEDIT to look for issues like that. I set the Supreme Storms - COT.esp to load after the vidian: weather patch cot - ess + ss, extended weathers - cot, diverse weathers - aos, weather patch vanilla and it still doesnt work. Hmm. EDIT: Is fw c8220 the right code to trigger the rain I am expecting? Perhaps I am using the wrong code and just assuming its broke when Im really not actually triggering it?
-
Doing what you said fixed ESS, but Supreme Storms still dos not work. When I enter the code fw c8220 to trigger vanilla rain, its vanilla rain, not the modified SS rain. I watched a youtube video showing the differences between vanilla and SS vanilla rain and there should be a difference, mine looks totally stock still. My rain looks like this at 0:53, when it should look like 4:42. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nglZvdxU5M I know SS used to work. When I was running a different enb along with the COT Weather Patch, I recall SS working fine. I think its something to do with your weather patch/ vanilla weather patch/ diverse weathers patch. Perhaps one of those 3 is causing it to fail? Or my Load order is the issue.

Magnaclub - When can we expect an updated load order guide? After I installed your newest enb +extended weathers, I cannot get supreme storms to work and my snow storms seem to be broken. I have been shifting things around but I cannot get them to work. I get the standard rain and when Im at Bleak Falls Barrow there is no snow falling from the sky.

I ended up using Realistic Nights and was able to get the immersion I was looking for. Only part I was confused about was it said it had to have prod80's weather patch. I wasn't sure if the built in one in vividian was the same or not. But if I install RS, it says there is a missing master, so I installed prod80's weather patch and disabled vividans. It seems to be working fine. -

Is there a reason why, with Vividians ENB enabled that the morning fogs are barely visible? They turn into a lightly hazy brownish fog, when I turn the ENB off they are hazy and white like the pictures. Also my snow/weathers doesn't seem to be working on Bleak Falls Barrow. I followed the load order in the guide, I will do some experimenting and search this thread for solutions in the mean time. Okay quick edit. I swapped the order of Vividan - Weather Patch CoT - ESS + SS and Vividan - Weather Patch Vanilla and now the weathers work. Forgot to check the morning fog however. Also, is there a combination of the listed mods that will work with Vividan ENB for darker nights? As I am toying with the mods, I have noticed sometimes the game is dark and sometimes not already. I am not sure if its when the stars/moon are hidden or if some combo of turning something off is trigger darker night. I did Step Core + COT, ESS - COT, ESS CoT DG Patch, Morning Fogs, Quality Snow Flakes, Realistic Sun for ENB, Splash of rain, SS for CoT, ELFX, Vividian Vivid ENB. -

You're are awesome! Thank you for the prompt and accurate responses. Much appreciated. I am hoping this time around I will actually get to playing! I have around 70 hours in Skyrim, but I never made it past the first dragon you encounter on the patrol haha. I keep modding, testing, getting bored, new version of step, starting from scratch. Or I remember skipping something because I didn't understand the instructions (like this) and I couldn't remember if I found a solution last time, so I delete skyrim and start modding all over again! I think this is my 10th time re-doing STEP. ^.^ -

Doh, I have always noticed the greyed out Overwrite on the left hand side, but I never realized you could right click it (never tried before), so I didn't think of that as being what was referenced. After that I was able to make sense of what's going on. Also I never realized you could install mods that way, that's the reverse of how I do it. I will take the loose files, .rar it up, and then click "Install Mod From Archive". I like your method, it saves a step or two. Thanks again! EDIT: Just thought of something else. Any idea why the "Create Mod" option disappears after creating the TES5edit Backups mod? If I delete it, the option comes back. But after I create it the first time, I don't seem to have the option again. -

Sorry if this is has been answered before. I found one of my answers in this thread: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/5512-following-step-tes5edit-cleaning-overwrite/?hl=+cleaning +update +esm But I didn't see the answer to my other question. For step 2.B I am confused by this set of steps: After cleaning, there shall be files in Overwrite (essentially a fake mod located at the bottom of the left pane if sorted by priority ascending) created by TES5Edit. Right-click Overwrite and select Create ModName it TES5Edit Backups and click OK. This will create a new mod listing in the left pane for the TES5Edit Backups useful if the changes failed to be successful. Each subsequent time TES5Edit is used to edit a file, open Overwrite and drag the TES5Edit Backups back to this mod. This will keep them in an organized and safe location. The files have no impact on the game.Right-click the TES5Edit Backups mod and select Ignore Missing Data to remove the red X flag. I found the TES5edit update.esm backup in my MO overwrite folder, but the rest of the steps I don't understand. How do I select "Create Mod"? What application am I supposed to select this through? You cant do this with windows and I do not see how I am supposed to do it with MO. I ended up taking the cleaned update.esm file from skyrim/data and .rar'd it and installed it as a mod in MO, and then took the back up I made in step 1 and placed it in skyrim/data to restore the original. I figure what I did above should work, but I still don't understand this step at all. Can anyone link me to a thread or clarify what I do here? -
problem with new monitor and higher resolution
timaishu replied to timaishu's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thank you, that was it. Now I just need to find where AA is listed. 8x AA plus 1400P is killing my frames. I shouldn't need AA at this res anyways. -
problem with new monitor and higher resolution
timaishu posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
I have skyrim completely modded out using all the step guides, so it is complete. Anyways, I just got a new QNIXÂ 27' 1440p monitor (previous was a 22' 1680x1050). Anyways, I set the resolution in the skyrim launcher, launched the game (was running correct resolution at the main screen), quit, then started from mod organizer and launched from there and it keeps defaulting back to 16:10 1680x1050. Any ideas on how to get it to default to my new resolution? -
I just installed a new 7950 3gb card and therefore, decided to redo my step install to install higher resolution mods. I decided to take the highest available for everything. I began noticing random CTDs. Came across this thread I believe this must be the issue. I am having trouble measure vram usage on the fly because it doesn't always work with skyrim performance monitor(assuming because of my enb). Last CTD, I had gpuz running and my max usage for that session was 2.8gb of vram. Gonna give this thread a read, but I hope I don't have to get rid of my pretty textures. :(
