If I'm reading the mod install instructions right then there are some other mods that must be installed as well. Tamriel Reloaded Trees Caribou Gone SFO 1.91 SFO 2.3 or 2.4 Should I still install the STEP optimized textures as well as the TES5LODGen normals billboard? Also can I use the Open Cities mod? And, Do I use DynDOLOD the same way as in the step guide, And, and, Where should i put all of this in the load order?

I installed Whiterun Trees by Rabbitlol. They give Whiterun a much warmer atmosphere. I'd like to add trees and growth to some of the other towns as well. Does STEP have intentions of adding more flora to the towns and cities of Skyrim? Can anyone recommend an all inclusive mod or individual mods that would be STEP compatible that is on par with the Whiterun mod that I've installed? Thanks. John

when installing the patch I receive this error With an installation error code 5. Any ideas where I should start looking?

OOPS. Nevermind. I didn't update CRF to the latest level.

I decided to redo STEP:Extended at the recommended resolution instead of the HQ variant so I can use an ENB and DyndoLOD. CRF is missing the Unofficial Skyrim patch though. Doesn't the new legendary patch take care of that? Just running LOOT and found several plugins that are requiring the USP.

I can only assume that you missed this part of my original post. Is it possible that Mirabella can't be resurrected after she dies of a pre-programmed cause in the game? Has anyone accomplished this task?

I figured she would end up as a follower once I became Arch-mage but I was wrong. I've tried console commands recycle, resurrect, and every other suggestion I could find on the web. I'm not familiar with the CK but did install it. Before I have a go at digging through it does anyone know how to bring her back? Thanks. John

I think ENB might be a bit much. Of course I did try the mac daddy version of Vividian first. Laggy and also way blurry. I will probably try the watered down version. Not sure what's causing the blurry screen on everything except what is RIGHT in my face. I have a question about AA. If I end up not using an ENB preset what is the best place to enable it? The Catalyst Control Center, The enblocal.ini, or the SkyrimPrefs.ini? EDIT: Maybe someone will com out with an 8Gb version of the FuryX card. Two of those would be sweet...

I think I'll be fine without DynDOLOD as a uGridsToLoad setting of 9 makes for a highly populated FOV. I haven't tried an ENB yet but I will pick from the recommended ones to see what kind of impact it has. Maybe I just need to get a pair of 8Gb 390x cards so I can use my existing water blocks.

IT's actually set up with the side monitors at a 45 degree angle. So I have a 135 degree FOV. Great for keeping track of multiple enemies.

That's so not going to happen.

The odd resolution is triple screen with bezel management enabled. I plan on taking my monitors out of their frames to be able to mount them closer together and lower the resolution a little. I hope to get it down to about 5800x1080. I know that's not much but every little bit helps. I also have the FOV set at 90. not sure if this adds much in the way of memory usage.

Thanks for the replies. I'm only using ENB for the memory bump, not for any presets. My understanding is that the ENB mods merely change the ENBseries.ini settings. Is this wrong? do they help with memory management? I'm thinking that the infinite loop when loading a game is caused be the system running out of video memory. Does this sound reasonable considering I went with the 2k variant of everything? Or do you think my issue is something else. I did try to use DynDOLOD prior to adding anything that was not STEP but ran into the same issue I'm having now. Cameron, Are you running with ultra settings, AA, and AF enabled? Could you post your ENB, Skyrim, and SkyrimPrefs .ini files? Maybe I have something wrong there. BTW: I am monitoring GPU ram, system ram, and cpu usage during game loading. Cpu is using about 60% on three cores. System memory usage rises about 2Gb. Vram levels off at about 8Gb before CPU and GPU usage drops back down to near zero. At this point I know the game froze; yet the load screen keeps chugging merrily along until I task manager out of it. EDIT: It just occurred to me that I've left out (probably) the most important part. My screen res is 5918x1080.

Hi Guys, I have installed STEP:Extended with all of the HQ variants. I didn't install anything over the 2048 level though. I also installed CBBE and improved NPC clothing. The game setting is at Ultra with 2xAA and 16xAF. I've reached level 32 with only about 10 CTDs over a 2 week time span. I tried DynDOLOD on high settings but the game just kept looping the initial load screen on startup. Same thing with medium setting. I have yet to try low settings as the screenshots don't look like it will offer much visually. System specs are CPU=FX8350@5Ghz, Memory=16GB DDR3 1866, GPU=R9290 (x2). FPS usually hangs around 40-50 with dips into the low 30s at times. I've played with uGridToLoad from 5 to 11 (11 won't get past the load screen). I would like to use DynDOLOD on high but will settle for medium if I have to; yet I don't want to trade the "up close" fidelity for distance fidelity. I've done all of the tweaks that have been mentioned here on the forum in hopes of being able to run ALL of the eyecandy. Does anyone have ALL of the eyecandy turned on with DynDOLOD installed? If so, I'd like to hear how you did it. Thanks. John

I miss installed DynDOLOD and Wrye Bash early on in my STEP install. Subsequently they showed #0 and #1 in the load order; and were not being managed by MO. I apparently installed them into the Skyrim data folder. So I removed them as well as the DynDOLOD folders that were installed in the data folder. I left the scripts folder because there was no reference to either DynDOLOD nor Wrye Bash in that folder. I must have removed something that I shouldn't have because I now have the dollar signs. I was thinking of clearing out the Skyrim data folder and verifying the game cache. Can I do this mid game? I'm at level 30 and have no desire to start again. Thanks. John

I used to use AFT as my follower mod. For STEP I used EFF because I thought I might want to take an army with me sometimes and it's what is used in the STEP pack. I'm re-thinking EFF because I liked the functionality of AFT more. Can I swap them out? I know I would have to release my followers, save game, uninstall EFF, loot and bash, resave game, install AFT, and loot and bash. Am I missing anything? John

Hi Guys, I'm having an issue with my followers becoming fur covered during a fight. The body, face, armour, and weapons all become fur covered. About a minute after the fight the fur disappears in a flash of light like the Fairy Godmother waved a wand over them. I'm using EFF to have more than 1 follower but it does it whether I have 1 or 4 followers. I turned off EFF (looted and bashed) to see if it was the cause; but had no joy. Any ideas where to start looking? Thanks. John

After updating I tried to add an executable. Created a name, selected a binary, and clicked the ADD button. The pop-up window closed yet my executable wasn't listed. Tried 3 times. Then thought "Maybe I have too many executables. I'll delete one". So I deleted Wrye Bash. Now I can't get Wrye Bash to load as an executable; and I have to create a Bash Patch. Any ideas? John
