Thank you both VERY much. As soon as you mentioned the possibility of an overlay program causing the issue, closed Afterburner and checked to see if inspector could do the same thing. Sure enough I enabled it and it seems to be working even better. I have not truly had the play time to test and see if it completely resolved the issue but the forty minutes I have played have been beautiful. Thank you very much for the help. -

I am not using a ENBSeries, just the few enb files suggested in the STEP guide. Along with that, I am using Nvidia inspector to force the graphic suggestions in STEP. The only thing I am using aside from those is MSI afterburner to lock my frame rate to avoid stutter. That was my solution after attempting to use ENBoost's window mod, and having Skyrim crash upon game load as a result. Would MSI Afterburner cause this? -

Hillistine replied to rothbardian's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Greetings fellow Skyrim fans and fanatics! I have spent three weeks in a pursuit of a fantastic Skyrim experience using STEP+REGS+PerMA and a dash of my own favorite mods. Throughout this quest I have battled many bugs and issues such as XPMS skeleton tweaks, crackling audio, blurry outlines around weapons near water, and even provided reports to help improve on Sheson's wonderful DynDOLOD tool. However, this particular problem defeats me, thus I come to you, O knowledge seekers and tenacious problem solvers. My tale of woe starts fairly simple. Two weeks into my quest an annoying problem began to crop up but was low on my list to solve as it was not the most glaring issue till now. The error can occur seemingly at random as it happens indoors, outdoors, while blacksmithing, shooting a bow, or simply enjoying a stroll through Riverwood. The sound of dragon roars echoing through the valley. Suddenly, the world stops. My character stands in place, does a bit of twitching, and then my screen goes yellow, or sometimes purple. My best guess is that the problem lies in my Nvidia GTX 675mx graphics card, but I have little to no knowledge as to how to go about resolving the fatal problem. Sometimes it happens after five minutes, sometimes after three hours. Any help is GREATLY appreciated as I wait in hopeful anticipation for your answers. Here is an image of the error: If I have posted this in the wrong place, please point me in the right direction and I will be happy to relocate this post. Also, I am running on a MSI GT70jh laptop and am more then happy to provide any other information anyone might find useful in solving this puzzle. Thank you ahead of time. -
Oh sorry about that. After killing a person, the body rag dolls as expected. However, if I pick up and drag the body to another location, it leaves behind an "invisible clone" of itself where the target originally fell. I can loot the body, and I can even drag it even though I can't see it. It still acts as thought it has physics and can bump into things, but it remains invisible. Following the directions in this post fixed the issue: https://www.loverslab.com/topic/25971-xp32-maximum-skeleton-extended/page-26 post number 514 Reading this thread, I thought the reason for STEP suggesting the backdated version (following the download link from the STEP wiki) was to avoid this issue but when loading and using said linked version, i still had the problem.

Oddly enough, i seem to still be getting the "invisible clone" bug even with the recommended version and FOMOD settings. Any ideas as to what might cause it? I can provide further information if needed. Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you VERY much Sheson. I figured the logs would be a huge help as they often have been in my trouble shooting. I just wanted to see if it was a simple fix before going to such lengths. If there is any other data I could provide to help with the process, please let me know. Also, any info on the particular "bug" or "error" would be appreciated. Even if it isn't something I can fix on my end, learning a bit more is always fun :) Thank you again for the time you have put into resolving my issue, and the much greater amount of time and effort you have put into making such an great tool. -

Thank you Sheson for the the suggestions. I tried a new game, tried coc whiterun, re ran the STEP guide for DynDOLOD installation two more times, and manually copied everything into the skyrim directory, yet the error persists. The files you requested are attached to this post. All help thus far, and any further aid is appreciated. :) Windows 8 64 bit United States/English TES5Edit\TES5Edit_log.txt https://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=00280153566396042022 DynDOLOD_Tamriel.json https://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=75259688945986569608 DynDOLOD_Tamriel_Objects.json https://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=02470354204419890864 DynDOLOD_Worlds.json https://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=63066303334523177270 -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx

hh2ohexhh, I appreciate your thoughts on the situation and agree with your sense of gratitude toward Sheson and everyone else involved in this wonderful project. However, I have made the attempt to get STEP: Extended working, as a baseline of sorts. I hope to primarily use STEP packs with VERY few additions, but i am concerned that I can't seem to get even this core mod functioning properly. I am hoping that by solving the issue, I might help others who struggle with the issue as well. That to ask, does anyone else have any thoughts, or ideas as to what would likely cause the error I have described? I am more then happy to provide more information if needed. Again, any help is greatly appreciated. -

So perhaps I have missed it, but I have read through the documents in DynDOLOD, I have searched the STEP site, Google, and Redit, and have spent nearly eight hours trying to solve the issue, and have found little to nothing. When I load Skyrim with a STEP Extended setup, I get messages in the upper left that DynDOLOD is "missing data f(insert reference number). DynDOLOD starts de-activated, but is able to be turned on. No one seems to mention this, except a comment in the .doc section of the mod saying some of these are normal. However, seeing as they start from the very beginning of the game during the cart ride, and do not stop the entire time, I am fairly certain this is not normal, nor should it go ignored. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Please and thank you.
