  1. Hey! Thanks. I looked and it says "GrassGID=cgid" instead of "gid". So I should remove the C and then redo the xLOD/TexGen/DynDOLOD steps? I def installed the conflict resolution patch
  2. Help! I followed this guide to the T and Idk why it is unable to make grass LODs. What could I have messed up? RESOLVED (mostly): It was due to my own errors: A) If you still can't select grass LOD, you probably forgot to set GrassGID=gid in the Edit Scripts/DynDOLOD/DynDOLOD_SSE.ini file. B) From your description, you most likely forgot to set Level32=1 in the same Edit Scripts/DynDOLOD/DynDOLOD_SSE.ini file that you were in earlier. Failure to do this causes the game LOD to be completely out of whack like you are describing. So yeah people, scroll through the STEP instructions SLOW. I think I messed up A/B/C and that's why I had a hot mess on my hands
  3. Sorry if the title is confusing. Here is the "issue" The STEP guide recommends/wants "Book Covers Desaturated" and "Book Covers Desaturated - Lost Library". I install these mods no issue. The issue is when I also install "Legacy of the Dragonborn" I get an error message from LOOT saying that those mods are already included. They are built into Legacy in such a way that they don't appear as individual .esp files. What to do? I can still begin a new game and stuff
  4. Can someone walk me through it? I apologize, I am getting tripped up with xEdit. I'd appreciate any help. Ultimately, these are the changes I'd like: I'd like the use the full version of Enhanced Blood Textures, but the Step Patch is looking for Lite I do NOT want to use Lanters of Skyrim, nor do I want to use Improved Closedface Helmets Thank you.
  5. Thanks, I will look into this. I am experienced with installing and loading mods but never deconstructing a patch. I want to use the full version of Enhanced Blood Texture + I don't want to use Lanterns of Skyrim.. that mod makes the game lose some of its wilder aspect imo
  6. I like the full version of the Enhanced Blood Textures mod, but if I install it I mess up the mega patch later on, which is looking specifically for the Lite esm/esp. Is there a way around this? I just prefer a lot more pools of blood around big battles and the Lite version sounds like it doesn't do that. Thank you.
  7. Thank you. I was mortified at the idea that the game would already be unplayable because of that, and I wouldn't be able to confirm for a long time since the guide says not to launch for a while
  8. I am starting the STEP guide from scratch and get this message upon completion of the 02- Extenders "Game Launch Test". "A DLL plugin has failed to load correctly, blah blah. CrashLogger.dll: disabled, only compatible with versions earlier than 1.6.629. Same thing with Scaleform Translation" Should I just.. not use these plugin mods? I can ignore the warning and leave them enabled, but the guide says to use them.
  9. Following the S.T.E.P. guide, might be done tonight. I've noticed during the installation of certain mods that they have optional patches for mods I want to use, but ones that I will not be installing yet (since I'm following the guide). How exactly do I go about implementing a ton of new compatibility patches after the S.T.E.P. guide is finished?
  10. Okay, and I can just have a new profile where I enable Parallax files, unlike my main one. Thanks
  11. Hello. I am following the S.T.E.P. guide, and noticed at the Flickering Meshes Fix mod that there are options for Parallax support. It appear that the S.T.E.P. guide does not have you installing any Parallax textures. If I want to install those at some point in the future is that okay to do? Will it disrupt the guide? Or perhaps I can come back at a later time (after installing, say, 2020 Parallax mod, and then enable the Parallax options inside this mod. Thanks~
  12. Thanks! I spent the last full week adding countless mods to a new install of Skyrim, since I got a 3080 Ti and new pc build. But the other day I had a crash to black, seemingly out of nowhere. It immediately crashed to black every time I tried to open Skyrim, and my "clean" backup of the data files solved nothing. I had to do a full O/S reinstall to fix the issue. I'm guessing my mindlessly adding 300+ mods without thoroughly reading them finally did me in. I guess because Skyrim is now a 64bit engine AND because I was using MO2, I figured I would notice any issues before they became that large. So now I am taking all caution and following the S.T.E.P. guide.
  13. I only ask because some people who are aware of Display Tweaks still insist not to do it. I would prefer going beyond it but am unsure what issues might be present. Could a higher fps affect quests or something? Thanks for the Skyrim AE guide
  14. Thank you. So with STEP:Core, am I supposed to download all the mods? Isn't there a mod limit?
  15. Hey! So I've been playing modded Skyrim for about 2 years on-and-off. I usually go through phases. The first year or so I used Nexus Mod Manager and BOSS. After learning about how Mod Organizer keeps the main installation of the game vanilla clean, I switched to that. I also began using LOOT instead of Boss, as well as Wyre Bash and TES5Edit. My PC I built myself in mid-2012. It was pretty good to say the least. Here was (is currently) the setup: Intel Core i7 3930K CPU @ 4.5ghz via Corsair Hydro H100 water cooling All-in-one MSI Radeon HD 7950 Twin Frozr GPU 3gb OC Edition ASUS x79 Sabertooth motherboard Corsair Vengeance 16gb 4x4 1600 DDR3 memory Corsair HX750 PSU Windows 7 (and now 8.1) Professional 64bit installed on a Crucial M4 256gb SSD I also have a Blu-ray burner, DVD reader, media card reader, and 7 other internal HDDs. With that setup I could technically run anything in Skyrim. Maximum graphic mods, etc. The only time my frames went down was when I used all those heavy graphic mods + RealVision ENB Full. Now, RealVision is beautiful and my favorite ENB (I cannot go back). I had to turn off depth of field. Basically, my FPS was around 40-55ish outdoors (not counting forests + rain), and 60fps indoors, dungeons, cities. So the frames ranged from good to very good, but it was still annoying. I've realized now that my GPU is the thing holding back my performance by a lot (the CPU is still very much overkill). I was originally going to upgrade to an AMD R9 295x2, which is a behemoth compared to my current GPU. However, my interest in the upcoming summer release of the AMD R9 390X is making me hold off. Additionally, both cards are more than capable of doing 1440p and 4k gaming. Anyway. I want to be able to play Skyrim with an outrageous amount of graphic mods, etc. Last time I played Skyrim I had about 200. I had them sorted in the right order and cleaned. But I still ran into CTD. I assume it was scripting errors, or me unable to properly allocate the Sheson memory patch, or having 3 followers in battle. Regardless, I want to avoid this as much as possible when I upgrade my system and play in 1440p or 4k. Any suggestions for a future setup? I am going to try and avoid too many script-heavy mods. I also plan on only using 1 follower. But supposing I implement the memory patch correctly this time, and upgrade my system further, will I likely not see those CTD as much? Any tips at all would be nice. For example.. about STEP.. am I supposed to install all the mods listed on their page list? I use RealVision, so should I install step mods first, or RealVision mods first? Lastly, because I used Mod Organizer, that means I can simply rearrange my current mods and re-check them and its basically like a fresh install right? Sorry for the long post!
