Constant CTD Near Knifepoint Ridge
Holymartyr replied to Holymartyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Sorry for the late reply - got caught up in some stuff, been a long week. Anyways I decided that the save wasn't worth the extra hour of time I had put into the game after I encountered the CTD, and decided to revert back to a previous save before I came across Knifepoint Ridge. I'll avoid that place as long as I can, and if/when I come back to it, if I get the CTD again I'll delve deeper into the issue. Thanks for your time. -
Constant CTD Near Knifepoint Ridge
Holymartyr replied to Holymartyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yes, I am also running ENBoost, and I have configured it according to the STEP guide. I thought that loading saves while just unchecking (disabling) mods in Mod Organizer will cause even more CTD's and issues? Hence the need for a 'clean save' when mods update/you remove a mod? Edit: If I'm using/understanding this script editor properly, the only 'Active Script' is the footprint script from 'Footprints' mod. -
Whenever I try loading at Knifepoint Ridge, or near and run towards it, I will CTD. This begun when I was on my way to do the Glenmoril Witches quest for The Companions. I came across the camp, cleared it out, went into the cave looking for ores, and when I tried to leave I would CTD before it finished loading. Tried several times, same outcome. Decided that maybe it was some sort of temporary bug, and used 'coc Whiterun' to teleport to whitrun and vendor off all my items. Tried going back to Knifepoint ridge to continue on to Gelnmoril, but before the loading screen finished I CTD'd again. Tried loading into locations near the camp, that would work - but as I traveled towards Glenmoril, when I get within a certain range of Knifepoint I CTD once again. System specs are in my signature, but here is my wiki link if necessary: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Holymartyr/SystemSpecs Here's my BOSS load order: Using almost the entire STEP:Extended guide as of 2.2.8 (Not using Fores New Idle System or Dual Sheath Redux), fresh install of Skyrim, new save game. Only using STEP Ini tweaks ATM, including the Z-Fighting Ini tweaks. AFAIK, there shouldn't be any NPC's around - I cleared out the whole camp and didn't see any neutral NPC's around. CTD Happens either on fast travel to Kniferidge Point, or while approaching on either foot or horse. I'm not maxing out my RAM or CPU, GPU is maxxed giving a near constant 58 FPS. Using SSME (Skyrim Startup Memory Editor).

Don't want to be the one who necros a thread and gets flamed - but nonetheless I just wanted to add my experience. I just did a full fresh install of Skyrim, with STEP 2.2.8, using STEP Extended. Latest drivers, cleaned all the files with TES5Edit that needed cleaning. Load order is fine, etc...AKA I'm pretty sure I've double, and triple checked everything that might cause a lockup, and I couldn't find an issue. But as I started to play a completely fresh save, I my whole game would lockup randomly, mostly near whiterun. The sound would continue normally, but I'd get no reaction from any keyboard controls, nor could I Ctrl+Alt tab out. I had to force close the process through task manager. Looked around for others who had this issue, didn't find a solution until I found this mod. Tried it out as a hail Mary and I've been able to get about 2 full hours of game play so far without a lockup. Started (yet another) fresh save file. I have installed the memory patch FYI.

Does anyone know if this has any compatibility issues? Would like to add, but finally started playing skyrim for the first time in a while, instead of just modding constantly and making new savegames lol.

I don't see how it isn't lore friendly. Who wouldn't want to know the hold borders in skyrim? We all know, and need to know, the different county/city/state/country borders in our life. First thing that came to mind when I saw this was the short movie in Lord of the Rings where the show the overview of whats happening. And you can clearly see the borders for the different lands. I think it definitely adds a layer of immersion.

Updated with 'Maroon' color now, now has an ENB and No SSAO comparison.

Please don't yell at me =( I'm just using what's there, trying to make interpreting the info easier... =(

Just did these screenshots myself, and decided that others on here may benefit from what I've learned. Took screen shots with and without ENB, with and without Nvidia SSAO and a mix of both. See below: This is a SS with NO Nvidia SSAO, with NO ENB, and NO ENB SSAO (aka vanilla). This is a SS WITH Nvidia SSAO, with NO ENB, and hence NO ENB SSAO. This is a SS with NO Nvidia SSAO, WITH ENB, and WITH ENB SSAO. This is a SS WITH Nvidia SSAO, WITH ENB, and with NO ENB SSAO. This is a SS with NO Nvidia SSAO, WITH ENB, and with NO ENB SSAO. So in my opinion, I found that Nvidia's SSAO was much better than ENB's. BUT, without ENB you can see the annoying shadow striping is very noticable - lol. Now I must add, I was using Performance SSAO from Nvidia, and the Medium ENB SSAO setting for the SS's. When loading the game, the game loaded MUCH faster with ENB on, than without. Not sure why this is, but obviously there is some performance to be gained from using just the base ENB .dll file and no special effects. I didn't benchmark the FPS difference as well, but I didn't notice any difference. Running a GTX 670 OC'd, Phenom II X4 965 OC'd, 8GB Ram OC'd, OC'd Mobo and Raid 0 setup with two 7200RPM HDD's (SATA 2.0 [3GB/s]). So in conclusion, I found that Nvidia's SSAO with ENB, but NO ENB SSAO was the best =) You can turn on both, but then the SSAO's overlap and creates some really dark shadows. P.S. Using SkyRealism ENB - Vibrant Setting, ENB v0.123, and Nvidia 310.54 Drivers.

Import/Export of Installers List? - [SOLVED]
Holymartyr replied to Holymartyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Alright I will try Skyrim Installation Swapper, and also find the table.dat file, and other files in the AppData folder. Didn't know Skyrim used the AppData folder >.< Thanks for the help =) -
Import/Export of Installers List? - [SOLVED]
Holymartyr posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
Is this possible in Wyre Bash? AKA I have Skyrim all set up on my current computer - is there a way to export the order of my current mods (In the installers tab) and import that order into another installation? Just reformatted my computer and copied the mods over to the new Wyre bash folder, but of course my install order was lost. If/when I need to reformat my computer in the future, I don't want to have to set up the whole installers order again. -
Anyone know which missing texture this is?
Holymartyr replied to Holymartyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah it looks like the "brace" that goes onto the wood IS missing it's transparency, but the single chain link at the end of the pole seems to not only be a 2D image, but it is also missing it's transparency. Does anyone else use Lanterns of Skyrim and have this same problem? Or do your lantern posts look proper? o.o -

Holymartyr replied to Holymartyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
If you look at the ring on its side, you can see that it's only 2D (you can barely see the sliver). Here are the two different angles - looking at it on its side, and looking at it straight on. Same with the other black area. Doesn't change how they look no matter what angle you look at them: -

As stated, missing texture on the lamp posts in Skyrim - See screenshot: Edit: P.S. Using Core STEP setup with some of the optional mods. If you need my full mod list don't hesitate to ask =3
