  1. This looks like a great place to ask the question rather than starting a new thread...as it deals with merging esp's. Please take into account I am relatively new to this, though learning a lot... This is my question... though I am not in danger of the 255 limit atm. I want to add several UNP armor mods (like tembtra, sottetta, merida, zzjays wardrobe, northgirl, ec mashup - should be mergable?) as well as some standalone companions (like vilja, inigo, hoth, bjinn warmaidens), and a house or two (Khune, Leaf Rest). What is the recommended method for 1: merging armor mods, and 2: integrating them into the existing SRLE lineup (what is sequence of patching/bashing, relev/delev'ing, SUMming and all so the standing works are stable). I would like to know the proper order for this prior to considering PerMa. If there is a tutorial/thread, I would greatly appreciate the point in the right direction. Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the patience!
  3. I think Perma is supposed to address this? I am a SkyRE fan, and want to transition to Perma... but waiting till it gets the kinks worked out... seems a couple good threads here in STEP on that?
  4. Thanks... this would have been handy to consider prior to moving from CORE to SRLE. As it stands, I have lots of CORE stuff mixed into my SRLE build, though I re-numbered and put "SRLE" in the rename mod if it included a fomod install. Hmmm.. this partially answers another question... and I cannot seem to find an answer in search... I am getting a dual sheath redux error... as in "no esp". Missed something somewhere... fixed. And as an addendum... what is the proper sequence after adding new mods... say I drop several armor mods and some companions in this... what is the proper sequence to make sure all the patches and such are correct?
  5. I would like to know how to accomplish this... some instructions please?
  6. Awesome, that was what I was thinking was correct from previous work, but it "did not say it..." Thanks for quick reply!
  7. Ok, I admit, I am paranoid about not following the instructions to the letter... but not adding the overwrite to the game doesn't feel correct.....I need some clarity here...
  8. I saved this optimization for last in my setup process as I know the least about it. Prior to running sort masters on the conflict resolution esp...I went looking for updated info on the Fals/Wyrm optimization... any updates please? And MANY thanks!
  9. Thanks much! ... Heck, if only a couple items out of a couple hundred are not crystal clear for the noob... that's pretty good! Some very fine technical writing. Missing that instruction could very well have happened during "kid aggro".
  10. Awesome, done. Thanks! No intent to be precocious, those three lines would have helped a lot in the instructions... though that may be intuitive as I learn the process better.... I am simply doing my best to follow the instructions. I am duly impressed with the detail of this setup... can't wait to see it in game.
  11. I have used the search feature... Forgotten Argonian Roots returns the mod list... Heaven help me.... Am I to understand I drag the body style (UNP and Better Males) up to the FAR directory... Then when I right click to "set data" I can only select one... Should I make two passes on the install ... one for male textures and one for female? or is there a way to pack both?
  12. Yeah, this is totally unclear to me as to which directory it is supposed to go in... the assistance is MUCH appreciated... I take it this works for you? (next up is DSOPT ing Wrym and Falskaar...)
  13. New installer back again... Primary install completed... I have noted from a novice's standpoint there are a couple items that were not clear to me, so I "circled back" at the end of the guide and checked my notes + applied what I had learned. I would like some confirmation that i have correctly applied Neo's intent here... Is what I did (as written in notepad) the correct action?
  14. ...spending more time modding (learning modding) than playing... sounds hauntingly familiar... I am on my 3rd install here... what started as a "I would like to mod this house a bit" has turned into a full college course on modding, TesEdit, swapping from NMM to MO, installing STEP CORE... geez shirley Thanks for the discussion all. Looks like I am going to take a close look at the mod lineup and begin another profile install... I originally started with SRLE and then thought... snot... need CORE installed to build on... should have just run with SRLE. Should be worth it though... and probably won't take as long as I learned a lot in the CORE install.
  15. Ok... something is not clear to me after spending probably 40 hours looking about the STEP packs/and site... I have spent the hours working through the STEP process... and have a fresh install of STEP CORE on my system. I am ready to install the SRLE setup... do I make a copy of the CORE setup in MO and modify from there....or heaven help me... is SRLE its own individual install? If this IS the case... something of this in the header would be helpful... because I am looking at SRLE as an addon pack. Thanks for the input, and for the work put into these setups. I have newfound respect for the time required to run a stable game and tweak the details. Zeg *edit... *please call Tocatta or Ceri... I have been bitten by a snake in the grass... https://forum.step-project.com/topic/5233-step-vs-srle/ Looks like this answers my questions. Apologies for the redundant post. Apparently I am using the incorrect search keywords.
  16. I am a new STEP user, and doing a complete reinstall of Skyrim utilizing this guide... I was noting some items in the instructions that were confusing to me where information was not quite all there... figured it out, but the info was much further down in the install instructions... I will send them up if you are planning a re-write. I like the guide very much... can't wait to play Skyrim on this setup. R, Zeg
