  1. So I have convenient horses installed and when I talk to Skulvar he gives me the option to buy a horn, but I can't purchase the horse it self. I have the STEP Extended install and the Weather and Enviroment pack installed. Maybe it has to do with the main quest. Since that is being delayed and since I am not Thane yet maybe that is why I can't purchase a horse. It's been some time since I played Skyrim so I don't know if buying a horse is dependent on quests or being Thane.
  2. Got down to the UI section and when I went in to test the game out, it would CTD upon loading a game. I am not sure what is causing it. I will try to do some work on my own in the mean time. Edit: So I found out the crashing was caused by Wrye Bash doing something to the INI, but now that I have that under control, it is still crashing. I have no idea why. I've never had this much trouble modding Oblivion. I wonder if its because of steam. I need to find my physical disc and try it that way.
  3. Well since I wont be going to Anthrocon this year (was really hoping to go) I will be doing some serious PC upgrades. Going to get some liquid cooling for the CPU and bump that up to 5GHz if I can, get some higher clocked Ram at 16GB at least, and get a 4GB Video card. Probably a 980 since the 970 has Ram issues.
  4. How much of an improvement will a 4GB card get me over my Radeon R9 270X 2GB? Should I get a card with 4GB of Ram? Or should I get a second R9 270X for Crossfire?
  5. What do you mean by EFF? I'm not so good with acronyms. Also, the Memory Blocks Log shows block 1 at 512mb even though I have it set to 768. Why isn't it showing it as 768? Would setting it to 512 fix issues with random crashing with no errors?
  6. Yeah, I saw that and clicked it. Also, I updated my previous post.
  7. I seem to still be getting the ILS. It happens randomly when I go inside or fast travel. Is the memory patch not working? SKSE.ini: I'll start the memory blocks log up now and post that when it happens next. With my luck it won't happen. Edit: I also have this issue with MO. When I opened MO after forcing Skyrim to close after that last ILS, MO reorded my ESP's in alphabetical order and disabled them all. Edit 2: So I wasn't able to get the ILS, but it did crash randomly while I was giving my follower some stuff to carry. MBL: On another note, I was using 3DNPC, that NPC mod that adds in a ton of voice acted NPC's and I'm not sure if it was caused by that mod, or if it was something else, but the follower from that mod would refuse to follow me, I would start walking one way, then he would turn around and run away and hide behind a building. I wasn't able to see if Sven would act the same way as the game crashed before I could test it out. Could it have something to do with the pathing system, and JK's Skyrim adding in new stuff to the town?
  8. After tweaking my shadows, I'm able to get anywhere from 39-45 fps with ENB enabled. That's good enough for me. I'll probably look into more ways to squeeze performance out of my game like Gamebooster or something. Maybe I'll try overclocking again.
  9. The FPS with ENB disabled is decent. Depends on the area. With JK's Skyrim, cities are kinda laggy, but everywhere else runs great. Now what shadow settings should I try lowering? I don't want to screw up the ini.
  10. Well using the lantern fix from SMIM fixed the purple textures. So far, the game looks amazing with Skylight ENB, but it's rather slow. I'm going to try disabling Vsync and go with the FPS limiter instead to see how it runs. I'm used to screen tears anyways. Any other tips on increasing performance?
  11. Looking into this ENB over RealVision. I went ahead and got the appropriate ELE interiors mod, but is it possible to merge them? My load order is getting abit long and switching out 1 esp for 4 is not helping, lol. Also, what settings for CoT would be best? Default on dungeons/interiors/night? Or will any choice work? One last thing, I am very please you included a Lanterns of Skyrim preset. I was fretting that I wouldn't be able to find one that matched my mods, (CoT, ELFX, etc)
  12. Should I install the lanterns from SMIM then? The wiki says not too. I'll go ahead and install that then.
  13. Has any one had any experience with these two mods? Is there a delay when shouting into the mic to when the actual shout is done in game? Which one would be better on performance? Thanks.
  14. This should be added in as an extended mod since it's kinda of resource hungry since it will slow you down in those areas.
  15. So I re-installed the conflicting graphics and landscape texture mods and used the baseline options. Performance is much better now with less hiccups. I will probably go down the list and re-install the rest of the texture mods and bring those down as well. Now, I noticed lanterns from Lanterns of Skyrim are purple. Are the textures from the BSA not being loaded? Also, could you recommend a ENB preset that looks good and doesn't take up to much performance? With my current ENB (Grim and Somber Azura) I got like 18-25 in cities and up to 30 in the wilderness.
  16. I actually had the memory settings in the SKSE.ini at 768 or what ever. So Should I set both to 256? Wouldn't that negate the memory patch? Now for overhauls versus Specifics, Would Book of Silence be considered specifics or an overhaul? Anyways, I'll look into downgrading those texture tonight after work. This is what I had the SKSE.ini at: So I'll set the scrap heap to 256, and can I just leave the Default Heap at 768? or would it work better at 512? Yeah, setting the scrap heap to 256 fixed it.
  17. Well to start off, MO isn't reporting any missing masters, and TES5EDIT doesn't report any errors. Here is my Skyrim folder. https://i.imgur.com/F32BaiI.png https://i.imgur.com/AWmTyiy.png Now Wrye Bash reports some ESPs as Masters have been rearranged. Now to clarify, the game loads fine with the ENB files removed, and loads fine with ENB but no mods enabled. So it's a mod that is getting in the way of ENB. I'll post my mod list again as MO has rearranged the left pane several times now. Edit:I ran the memory blocks log and pasted it below in a spoiler tag. Edit 2: Ok, so it was the Expandmemoryx64 option. It doesn't crash any more with all my mods enabled. Now what do I lose by disabling that? Edit 3: Ok, now actually getting into the game, it runs pretty bad with ENB on and off. I'll have to tweak the settings later after work. plugins.txt modlist.txt lockedorder.txt loadorder.txt
  18. So the game loads main menu and the ENB text appears and then it crashes. I tested it with out any mods enabled it and runs fine. What mod is causing this? plugins.txt modlist.txt loadorder.txt archives.txt skyrim.ini skyrimprefs.ini
  19. Ok, so ENB is still causing the game to CTD. I don't have FRAPS or Afterburner running, so I don't know what's causing it. It loads up seemingly fine, gets to the screen with the Akatosh symbol minus the meny items and the ENB text shows, then it crashes. Runs fine with I disable ENB. I was using ENB 262, with RealVision, but I think that might be the issue. I'm going to try with the more recent version with just ENBoost.
  20. Now I remember when making bash patches, that you select the entire list and click mark mergable, but on the wiki for it, it just says to do that to one mod. So when adding/removing mods from my list, do I just rebuild the bash patch?
  21. To start out, here's my system: Z87 Haswell Core i5 4670K @4.4GHz Radeon R9 270X 2GB 8GB DDR3 1333 Windows 7 64 bit. Now, the issue I have right now is, when starting a new game, Lokir just dies and vanishes, then the game crashes. It could be from any number of things. The thing is, I have Automatic Variants, Dual Sheath Redux, Real Shelter and a Bash Patch. I have no idea which order to make those patches in. Also using SUM for the Reproccers. Now I'm sure you know how SUM and Bash patches work, but maybe you are not familiar with Real Shelter's RSpatch.esp. The patch esp uses a script in TES5EDIT that takes in account every ESM, ESP and any ENB you have. So I assume that needs to be last, but what about the reproccers and Bash Patch? I'll go ahead and attach the needed files below. Also, ENB was crashing, but I think it was MSI Afterburner getting in the way. archives.txt loadorder.txt lockedorder.txt modlist.txt plugins.txt skyrim.ini skyrimprefs.ini enblocal.ini enbseries.ini
  22. I'll rerun those if and when the issue reappears. Anyways, the programs running right now are Fraps, RadeonPro, AMD Gaming Evolved, Avast, GeDoSaTo, and PCmeter. It doesn't seem like any of those would interfere.
  23. Ok will do. I'll have to say, the INIs were prebuilt ones from STEP a while ago. I figured if I put in the correct settings and adapter info, it would be alright. I'll go ahead and delete them and have MO regenerate them with the launcher. Edit: Ok, so I reaquired the INI's, and just edited them according to the STEP wiki. On that note, that wiki needs to be updated. Anyways, with both a plain ini and tweaked ini according to STEP, I still get the glitches. Edit 2: I also reverted the Overclock as well. Edit 3: So this is very odd, I decided to try rebooting my system and it the glitch went away. At this point, I still have no idea what the problem is. If it is the overclock, then it would show up in other games. I mean I played Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes on High with a few options reduced and it played at a solid 60FPS with no errors. For the time being, I will refrain from overclocking to see if it comes back or not. I guess for now I will set this topic as resolved, but if it reapears, I will undo that, unless you want me to start a new topic. skyrim.ini skyrimprefs.ini DxDiag.txt
  24. Ok, so the same glitches came back with out warning. It was working fine, then now it's back. I'm on 14.9 right now. Should I try going back another release? Could it be from overclocking my video card? Doesn't make sense that Skyrim messes up from the overclock, but other games work just fine. Edit: I uploaded some shots of the returned glitches. This time it's even worse. https://i.imgur.com/snV2B6X.png https://i.imgur.com/cF4RR41.png https://i.imgur.com/j5U3JYF.png https://i.imgur.com/zVuVf0F.png https://i.imgur.com/kZXDnF7.png https://i.imgur.com/8RcghA7.png
  25. Yes I did. I deleted the line in the INI and my drivers are already set to "Off, unless application specifies"
