  1. thanks for the info - much appreciated
  2. I would also like to know this, info on the Nexus site is confusing/conflicting.
  3. Yeah, I read the same info on Nexus re:Distant DetailHF, but despite looking and looking, I could not find any info about whether it was safe to clean anyway. I have reproduced the same effect with other mods since, Expanded Apocrathy Inventory being 1, it behaved the same way when I cleaned it. It was reporting 1 UDR and when cleaned it "cleaned" more than just the 1 UDR and then flagged with an X, I had to hide the Esp file in order to reinstall it as well. I really just wanted to potentially warn others that cleaning these 2 mods can cause problems. One thing I did fail to mention, and it was pretty major, but I am not going to do it twice to see if it can be reproduced, it crashed MO at one stage when I was trying to isolate the CTD cause, and then I had to reinstall all my mods from scratch, luckily I kept all the downloaded zip/rar files, it was still a hassle though and one I have no intention of repeating any time soon.
  4. I have STEP 2.2.4 installed - I have cleaned the BOSS reported dirty edits/ITMs in all apart from "Distant DetailHF" and "BirdsHF clean". Both report dirty edits and when cleaned they cause CTD. After cleaning they both have a X in the flag column, and after removing the Mods the DistantDetailHF.esp and the birdsHFclean.esp files remain and there is no way to delete them, they have to be hidden in the Data tab to get rid of them before reinstalling, if I dont hide them I get 2 copies of the .esp files. Are these 2 files not supposed to be cleaned? Â Is anyone else having these issues? Is there another thread dealing with this that I can't find? Edit: I assume it has something to do with being dependant on HearthFire, as when I clean them more edits are reported deleted/cleaned than there are ITM's.
  5. Just a little heads up the above setting is fSkyCellRefFadeDistance not fSkyRefCellFadeDistance.(I hope I am not wrong about the setting, but I could not find the entry(RefCell) you specified, but did find(CellRef),) That being said, using the settings you posted seems to have fixed the majority of the z-fighting on my machine, without a major performance drop either. Many thanks. My setup is CPU = Core I5 2400 3.1 GHz (over clocked to 3.8 GHz) quad core. RAM = 2x4GB 800MHz(dual channel, so 1600 MHz) RipSaw, GSkill. Hard Drive = 1000GB Seagate 7200 rpm GPU/Video Card = AMD Radeon HD 7850 Saphire OC                        Core Clock 920 MHz                        Memory Clock 1250 MHz                        2 GB GDDR5 memory So nothing really special there but it runs Skyrim @ 35 fps outside and 60 fps inside. Mods installed are S.T.E.P. recommended only with about half textures at max. I have AA set at 4x as 8x came with a massive performance hit with only a little visual improvement. Everything else is Ultra, and Ultra + with your z-fighting fix. If you want any other details about my system just ask. Thanks again to you and the guys behind S.T.E.P., being an old D&D fan from the 80's, this game gives me my fantasy/dungeon crawling fix these days.
  6. thanks heaps guys -- thanks frihyland - i used that guide and have pretty much all things STEP related bookmarked - i used STEP 1st about 1 year ago but my system left alot to be desired then - now its a sweet system for playing Skyrim and using STEP(the only thing i lack is a SSD, but that is on the way for Xmas) - i used MO for almost every mod install except the ones that require direct user intervention(like SKSE etc.)- I see Climates of Tamriel has a Dawnguard option now, but I am awaiting the next release of STEP b4 I add it into the mix. I am mightily impressed with the work you guys put into STEP, I will be sending some $$ your way after Xmas (my wife won't let me b4 Xmas). You deserve major credit for the effort made in putting together such a great resource.
  7. i noticed that the enb.ini files from pure enb contain the following lines [PROXY] EnableProxyLibrary=true InitProxyFunctions=true ProxyLibrary=d3d9injFX.dll i am using d3d9.dll. Should it say.. [PROXY] EnableProxyLibrary=false InitProxyFunctions=false ProxyLibrary=other_d3d9.dll does it matter that the ini file references a .dll file that is different from the 1 I have installed? i have followed the enb install sequence recommended by STEP, running all mods with maybe 1/2 of them HIRES options and i am having a wonderful time - thanks for the huge effort put into the guide. the issue above is more of a passing query as enb seems to work well regardless of what the ini says. any help would be much appreciated.
