ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Book of Silence (by CaBaL)
Kingdestiny replied to EisDrache's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Ya it really is sad. Such a shame. Khajiit are one of my favorite and they always get the axe with the Argonians when it comes to these things. At least we can be glad we own it on PC and we have you making wonderful textures with what they've given you to work with. I'm glad everyday that I get to be in-game with your re-mastered armors. -
Well like I was saying. I was suggesting configurability where you can pick and choose how much the resolution changes. When I said double I meant that whatever it was at now I preferably would prefer something about double as effective. I think it has the potential to work just as great for STEP as it does for vanilla. I'd like to be able to have really nice visuals when looking around not doing a whole lot. But have combat efficiency when in combat. Edit: I'll go ahead and test now and change the resolutions to the minimum the program can do. See how much you can get out of it already. Then I'll comment back. Edit2: Tested with the lowest resolution and it does indeed run even smoother. Not sure why its limited at 33%. I'd adjust it to 25% If I could. I edited the settings to not affect resolution at 50fps or higher and to adjust it all the way down to 33% if I had lower then 30. Was able to run in almost full circles with zero stutters using both my flame magics on a wolf. The stutters that did happen were usually because the fps would fluctuate because all the sudden I'd be higher then 50fps with the lower resolution so now I'd have full details again and begin to lag again. I imagine with the proper tweaking and using two setting profiles I could completely eliminate stutters in combat. I highly recommend this now that I've fully grasped how to use it to anyone who has trouble with stutters after STEP install. Works wonders and I still have amazing visuals. Still I would like to see them lower the limit to 25%.

No no. I think you missed the part where we were talking about another mod not yours. There is someone who tries to improve helmets for beast races and even regular races. With the helmets that have closed face masks. I made a suggestion to see if you wanted to try and make your textures for them so they don't appear cut down. This is even with regular textures. Has nothing to do with yours. Your textures look amazing there's nothing wrong with them. Edit: https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15927 This mod. Sorry for the confusion CaBaL. -

But then wouldn't the point remain that it would look more suitable with replaced textures so the texture simply doesn't look "cut off". Perhaps I used the wrong word with stretching. I imagined the mod pushed the rest of the texture down and squished it together. Wether it be cutting it off or squishing it down I think it might still look better if the texture were tweaked slightly. -

The mod merely "cuts a hole" for the eyes. There is no texture stretching. https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=1280&pid=18113#pid18113 Forgive me then. I must have misremembered how my Khajiit looked in the helmets. I thought the changes for the beast races were more drastic. Never had a chance myself to compare the two side by side. -

Yes it would use the texture but the style is completely changed. The original texture wouldn't stretch to fit it and make sense. It would make more sense to have textures specifically made for the restyled look. Or maybe I imagine the changes to be more drastic then they really are. But from the screenshots of what they changed it seems like a pretty big difference. Edit: I changed my previous post wrongly stating the mods name. I apologize. -

I'd like to thank you again here as I've already done on your mod page. I definitely support this mod. Simply incredible. CaBaL when you get closer to finished with some of the armors I'd love if you could check out the improved *edited*closed faced helms that is part of the STEP install and see if you cant make textures for those to make them compatible. They fix the issue with helmets not fitting on big headed races correctly. Edit: I might even go as far as to say when making your weapons you should check out the two instances of thinner blades on STEP. They make weapons look more real with thinner blades then fat like a wooden sword. Edit2:I mistakenly put open faced helms. -
SKYRIMLE Frostfall - Hypothermia Camping Survival (by Chesko)
Kingdestiny replied to Vond's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'd like to comment as I use this mod as well. It really is amazing. However, from what I've read on your mods page (haven't seen in game to verify) is that you say npcs will put on cloaks with Winter Is Coming. Why is there not and option for npcs to put them on when it gets cold with Cloaks of Skyrim? I'd really like to see that. -
https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=1334&pid=19230#pid19230 This mod was suggested to me in that thread and I just want to comment on my experience with it and the full step install. I find the programs design and purpose to be spot on. Taking high resolution photos while standing still, but not bogging down the game when your running around. However, I hope someone suggests this thread to the maker. I'm interested to hear his input because the idea is solid. It definitely works as intended but I find that it doesn't reduce resolution enough. I wish it had optional changes like reducing the resolution when moving the screen by double. As it stands it simply didn't reduce it enough for the game to become fully playable. This won't be the case for all people which is why it should be modular changes for everyone's specific needs. Anyone else use it? (sorry if there's already been a post feel free to merge)

This Isn't true. He made himself a program called Reproccer. It's a program that adds all new weapons, armor, and alchemy from your mods to his game by automatically editing their stats to fit. SkyRe's whole purpose is to work with a huge range of mods. I find it to be more balanced and to have a slightly higher difficulty. I'm in the process of testing his new stuff now. I'll report back with how I feel the weapons are balanced by default from his program. (It's fully editable on your own) I just wanted to make and edit and say that I mean his Reproccer is fully editable after it auto patches. Which I believe to be easier then manually editing things yourself without it.

Thanks bud. I actually watch a video or two on it. If it does work as intended. Sounds like it'll be perfect. Get high resolution pictures while having a playable game while actually playing it.

Ya I also used every single STEP mod. I also choose the lowest resolutions this time as well. Because I've gone overboard in the past. And honestly its completely fine when looking straight ahead. Its when i start spinning the camera that I just get stutters the entire turn. Or when I'm using my fire spells. Which is probably due to HD fire. I thought of using DDSopt but I saw a few mod users comment about how it breaks their mod if you use it. Since you did the full STEP install. Can you comment as to which you ran DDSopt on? Did you have to use it to get your card to run the game?
-
Well I toggled ENB on and off in the game. And the stutters were still there. That's why I came to the conclusion it was more of a texture issue then a graphical issue. I use a 460gtx which only has 1GB of Vram

Are there any mods or specific tweaks out there that help when your skyrim is heavily loaded with mods? I don't get any CTD's but my FPS is bogged down. Looking for like 5FPS or so boost. Thought I'd ask before I start to uninstall a few textures.

I agree to that. I look forward to tips mostly on getting complex NMM styled mods ordered easily for Wyre Smash. I really hope everyone will start making Wyre Wizards again. Those are really the best. I saw a few mods have them now that didn't use to. Really exciting stuff. Edit: So I don't waste space on another thread and I have a few good minds here. How important would you say it is to learn to use DDSopt and Optimizer Textures? Looks like two programs that would take awhile of reading before I get the hang of them. Is the performance difference huge? Last time I did STEP I had a weird issue with FPS where when I got close to cities. Especially Whiterun I had massive FPS drop. However everywhere else in the game, even inside cities, FPS was really good. -

I look forward to them then. I may not need them by that point as I'm learning to redo it now. However I'm sure there are some things I won't pick up that will be cool to learn again. -
Wyre Bash Assistance/Mod Setup - [SOLVED]
Kingdestiny replied to Kingdestiny's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well the video I saw was like one single video that was about three hours long. It went through about 200mods and showed every single step from downloading them all to putting them in the right folder to combining them, ordering them, and bash patching them. While also explaining each step in depth. It was single-handedly the most helpful instruction on Wyre Bash I've ever seen. The Wyre Bash wiki is nice once you know where to start with the program and you run into an issue you can check it for something you don't know. It's kind of daunting to use it though if you have no idea how to use it to begin with. -

Ya if I may make a suggestion to you guys. Or in particular to WrinklyNinja since he is redoing the guide. Youtube is the friend of easy modding. If he went through like a handful of mods (5 or 6 mods) from STEP using WB and showed every step. Anyone would be able to do it. Watching a tutorial for oblivion with it was how i learned to use it originally. -

Ah I think I got you now. Thank you. So I suppose that just leaves one small question and one main question. What are the consequences of not loading every single dependancy when cleaning mods. And how do you update the bashed patch? I remember for oblivion you'd get done and then it like compiled or something. -

Well what your saying is partly helpful. BAIN installs is what I'm trying to get into WB. I don't know how to make a BAIN structure though. -
