Hello, all .. as long as on subject of UI enhancements maybe someone can help me. I use a triple monitor setup 7680x1600 or 8130x1600 with bezel. With som trial and error and a bit of luck I think I was able to get Eyefinity Triple Screens for SE working to manage that wide of setup. Too early to tell if *everything* is working .. not sure how to even tell exactly. Anyway, lick the bezel does not interfere too much with normal game play or menus .. and may of the mods have adjustments for placement and scale of widgets. But I think notifications coming from Froistfall and/or iNeeds possibly others appear upper right center which often cut off the early part of the message. I would like to learn how to move those slightly. I would think it would be an easy mod/edit to make .. or perhaps there is an existing MCM or other mod? What about SkyHUD? I tried with some success but opted out as I suspect it conflicts and/or is redundant with other mods. Any help?

First, a HUGE thanks to Lexy (big donation deserved) and all those that make this guide possible. In yester-year I made several attempts to get the old Neovalen guide to work to no avail. Now, I'm back and am happy to say I was able to get everything working. But I have a triple monitor setup and am saddened that Flawless Widescreen is not supported with SSE. And the most up date and well supported mod Complete Widescreen Fix for SkyUI 5.2 SE Alpha - 2560x1080 won't work with my 8130x1600(bezel corrected) setup. I managed to get Eyefinity Triple Screens for SE working more or less but must work around RaceMenu and no doubt other incompatibilities. Plus, it "wants" SkyHUD .. which again I was able to make work but not sure what I broke to do so. I see the guide was updated once again today so plan on incorporating plugins and scripts and regenerating everything .. with widescreen fix this time. I understand Immersive HUD - iHUD Special Edition replaces SkyHUD so will give that a try. A Matter Of Time and other mods have there own scaling and position config but no doubt I will run into problems somewhere. I'd love a "guide extension" for widescreen option .. (really triple monitor wide) but it seems I'm on my own now. I'm a developer by trade so could edit scripts myself, create my own mod .. but have never done so. Any tips you could offer or even a test plan so I know what to look for when testing. I've actually never played the game more than a bit .. having too much fun installing mods!!! Leaving the Shire now ...

Also see https://forum.step-project.com/topic/10422-mature-skin-texture-and-body-ctd/ Maybe running a 2 GB card is simply not feasible?! -
Skin and Body CTD troubles
DocHammoc replied to DocHammoc's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Ok .. I added UNPB Body and XP32 MSE and tested. It worked fine WITHOUT "Better Males" and "Mature Skin". I then added Mature Skin and I got a bit further, up the hill and back down again with CTD within a couple minutes. I have not tried Better Males. -

No but that is good information. I have Cover Khajiits, Forgotten Argonian Roots, and Khajiit body replacers for UNP and CBBE. Hmmm, maybe I should try adding the XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended ... .. also wonder if UNPB Body is required as well ??? -
Every dozen or so mods I stop to benchmark and play the game to test for stability. Of course I check to ensure mods are not dependent on something not installed yet and also run LOOT and always start with new game. Dynamic mods that depend on all other mods are problematic. Right now I'm including them but not dynamically updating them. This includes DynDOLOD and ASIS right now. I backed out FNIS and other mods after Skin and Body. To test I choose the default male Nord and start at the Docks of Solitude and run up the stairs, turn left and run up the hill. I keep running in that general direction for 5 or 10 minutes before assuming I'm good. With "Better Males" I normally don't get past running up the hill before CTD. With "Mature Skin" I usually crash just after using the bed. I 'm at 6GB system ram, Win 7 64bit, 2GB 680 Nvidia GPU, 1280x800 (yes that's right .. low resolution for testing). I've also selected 1k version of textures for most mods where available. I've updated my SRLE to June 6 0:49:49 (wip to Skin and Body mods). Uhg!

your computer is low on memory. Save your files and close these programs: Skyrim Skyrim CTD and windows displays attached message. Anyone seen? -
Mature Skin Texture and Body .. CTD
DocHammoc replied to DocHammoc's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Of course running 3 monitors demands a lot of resources! But to eliminate that probable cause I reduced resolution to minimum 1280x800 which displays only on center screen. 4065x800 expands to triple (with bezel) . That's quite a bit more than 1920x1080 but its still less than my native resolution of 2560x1600 on one monitor. (About 3/4 native on one). It's beginning to look like SRLE won't run as specified on a 2GB card at even "standard" setups. My goal now is get it to run at low resolution and textures. If i can't then something else must be going on. -
Mature Skin Texture and Body .. CTD
DocHammoc replied to DocHammoc's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I was able to get things to work but not entirely. I tried 1K textures on 6 mods (a couple outdoors) including MSTB itself. It worked but only after removing MSTB again. All this at 1280x800 pixels. And this was not as consistent. So now I am going 1k on everything I can to see if that works. I know a 680 is "little" .. but it's no slouch either. "Any" card should handle 1280x800. Nvidia drivers are up to date .. which I suppose could be something to explore. Try older / settings / etc. -
Mature Skin Texture and Body .. CTD

I reduced the resolution to 1280x800 .. still can't go outdoors. Worse removing "Mature Skin Texture and Body" (MSTB) no longer fixes the problem. Going back to triple screen (low resolution) which was working without MSTB no longer works!? I suppose, it could too large of textures but tend to doubt it. AIDA64 is reporting (on my LCD keyboard) dedicated vram at about 1300 when at 1280x800. When at 3252x768 or higher it caps at nearly 2000 (which is all of a 2gb card). Depressing. MSTB might not be the problem after all. -
Mature Skin Texture and Body .. CTD
DocHammoc replied to DocHammoc's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I tried lowering the resolution again to 3252x768 .. and starting in Windhelm .. for a second thought it was going to work then CTD as before. Log got up to 256 though. Coincidence? Probably not but I already have set DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 in SKSE.ini and log says 512 for block 1 as it should. -

DocHammoc replied to DocHammoc's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Little 680? Seems a bit personal. Have you seen my big screens? Memory blocks log reports 512 for first, 256 for second .. but always CTD's at 252 or 253 from my tests so far. Can't really go outside anywhere. Okay indoors or underground. Now what? -
Mature Skin Texture and Body .. CTD
DocHammoc replied to DocHammoc's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
My bad. I think meant ReservedMemorySizeMb. I did use Boris's tool to calculate the other and got a bit less than 4000 (I only have 6GB system ram at the moment, win7 , 2GB vram). I'll check out Memory Block Log. I didn't do that this time. Very likely running out, but thought that was fixed with the memory patch thing. Will post back with results ... -
After much trial and crash .. I found that "Mature Skin Texture and Body" tips the scales and game becomes unstable. Very predictably crashes in middle of wagon ride open sequence (after selecting Vanilla start from "Alternate Start - Live Another Life"). I've tried removing all mods that come after it and it many other combinations of mods. I'm sure its "Mature Skin" causing the issue. I've tried increasing and decreasing VideoMemorySizeMb .. 128, 256 and 512. I've tried reinstalling and freeing disk space. I'm running 4065x800 resolution in Nvidia surround on 2gb EVGA 680 Hydro Copper. God I can't wait till Pascal is out. I'm getting just under 30 FPS and 99% GPU usage. And dedicate video memory seems capped at about 1980 mb. Any suggestions on what to try next?

How do I .. not sure that I am! When I start getting 20 FPS average my game becomes unplayable during intensive scenes. I'm pretty stubborn and can often tolerate poor FPS for an otherwise great experience. Yes, ENB sucked down my FPS from 49 to 32 at 4065x800. If the remaining mods don't suck much more I may be okay till I get my next gen Pascal Nvidia card. I've tried "I Cant Believe It's Not ENB v3 SweetFX" (or equavalent) a while back and also the unique hialgoboost to dynamically reduce resolution. I think it's better to simply reduce resolution as I have but I prefer the ENB too much to not use it. You can hit shift-F12 to turn it off .. and still get the enbboost/memory patch thing, not sure if that helps performance though. I more concerned now to get a stable mod set. If I can and still have performance issues i will reduce resolution again. You would be surprised how good it looks at lower resolutions. I haven't found using 1k textures vs 2k or whatever makes a noticeable difference .. or parallax. Skyrim Flora Overhaul .. only 1 FPS. I'll post back if I find anything else that takes me down a lot.

Think I fixed it .. just had to reinstall ENB, make sure right files are copied to Skyrim. enbseries.ini from boris should be overwritten.
-
I got everything installed up through Vividian ENB (and Wearable Lanterns and AOS dependencies). With ENB enabled game looks horrible. Shift F12 disables and then it looks fine. See attached image. enb 2016_04_13 23_32_26_27-25-75.bmp

iRadialBlurLevel=1 causes CTD
DocHammoc replied to DocHammoc's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Seems like the SRLE should be changed then as it clearly states ... Radial Blur Tweak This tweak prevents errors when certain imagespace modifiers are used. [imagespace] iRadialBlurLevel=1 -
Got about a third through install of SRLE and started getting CTD's imagine that. I eventually narrowed down the problem to the ini setting iRadialBlurLevel=1 in SkyrimPrefs Googling this and reading on STEP I found this setting to be suspect. Supposedly it belongs in skyrim.ini and/or anything but iRadialBlurLevel=0 causes CTD or something like that. https://forum.step-project.com/topic/7990-skyrimprefs-ini-guide/ I for one use IniTweaks in mod organizer (which who knows .. could be buggy?). If you use IniTweaks you do not specify which ini file .. it just injects the setting into the game like magic! I tested taking out the IniTweak and putting iRadialBlurLevel=1 directly in SkyrimPrefs. It did not crash. Moving iRadialBlurLevel=1 to Skyrim.ini did cause a CTD. iRadialBlurLevel=0 did not cause CTD. The default iRadialBlurLevel=2 in Skyrim.ini did cuase a CTD .. where in SkyrimPrefs it does not. This leads me to believe that it may really be doing nothing in SkyrimPrefs. The IniTweak is the same as putting the setting in the proper file Skyrim.ini. But iRadialBlurLevel=1 causes CTD in this file?! Please someone with some knowledge of this respond. BTW: My CTD is always in the same spot. After starting a new game and after character is created you are led to the block. After the dragon comes and saves you will be free to roam the CTD happens. You can reproduce by "Continue" the game from main menu so you don't have to watch entire opening sequence (I have every frame memorized).
-
Reinstalling SRLE again and testing as I go after each "section" about. I always start with new game. Right after the dragon saves you from the block .. and you should be free to run to tower the game crashes. Checking for mod dependencies (and yes I remember to use LOOT) I started to back off mods. I've backed off quite a few and still no luck. Before backing all the way out and starting over .. anyone know what my problem could be?

CTD entering Helgen Keep .. ENB only installed
DocHammoc replied to DocHammoc's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Thanks for the replies.. But I solved the problem. Feel kind of embarrassed but I was only running the wrapper version with no "preset" or fx files. The guide says ENB won't be completed till Vividian ENB but I did not realize Game won't run with just the three files and config. Coping the rest of of the files into Skyrim folder fixed the issue. BTW, I'm not using the ENB Manager. I've configured Mod Organizer to manage the skyrim folder for me including enb and everything else. How? I created a mo_skyrim folder in each mod folder that needs files in Skyrim folder. I then wrote powershell scripts to copy files from mo_skyrim to skyrim which I call from Mod Organizer. MO creates one virtual mo_folder for all mods under Data. Before I remove any mod (or switch profiles) I "clean" the Skyrim folder by "removing" all files in Skyrim folder that have an existing file in mo_skyrim. After changing mods I then run the copy script again. I'm leaving out details but it works pretty well. I wish it was built in to MO as it could be improved if I had some better hooks into it. -
CTD entering Helgen Keep .. ENB only installed
DocHammoc replied to DocHammoc's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
A quick test of simply continuing the game from automatic save right after character generations proves it's enb related. Crashes immediately. Remove ENB and loads fine. I'll do some more testing as this used to work better.
