"Hardware antialiasing detected, some effects disabled" despite settings
Barvis replied to mortsubite's question in Post-Processing Support
Which .ini and settings did you need to alter? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk -
@Alkira -- Thanks for the lead! I never thought to look there as it's ENB complaining about AA being enabled by the graphics adapter and ENBLocal.ini is specific to ENB (it's own config file). Two interesting things stand out to me in my first look at the ini which will give me something fun to play with and figure out next week. FPSLimit=40.0 (See my note above about my frame rate dropping to around 40ish...) I wonder if FPSLimit is setting a floor or a ceiling (my bet)? And then later I'm finding: [ADAPTIVEQUALITY] Enable=true Quality=1 DesiredFPS=24.0 ; consistent to my experience when "there is a lot going on" such as when both a dragon and an windmill and a bunch of NPC's are going at it. Both FPS settings are consistent with what I'm experiencing (and it's a great experience so far). Though now I wonder if I can bump the quality even higher. :-) To the RED AA message from ENB: [ANTIALIASING] EnableEdgeAA=true EnableTemporalAA=false EnableSubPixelAA=false EnableTransparencyAA=false I had at first thought that these AA settings were for software based rendering (within ENB)... Maybe this is the real complaint by ENB. That these are turned off. Which makes the message from ENB that much more confusing as it's complaining about having detected HW based AA. To add a little more light (unintended pun) on the subject I found this: From here: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1014677-a-little-help-with-enb-and-anti-aliasing/ As of ENB v121212 (I think) onwards you'll get that red text appearing on game startup if you have any level of MSAA enabled. If that occurs then you'll lose the SSAO feature of ENB. Either way, QuietCool ENB uses a much later ENB version so this is definitely the case and it has ENBs own AA method turned on by default. However I've heard very little about ENBs AA here on the forums, and when I have heard of it, people don't use it as it apparently causes too much overall blur. To disable it open the enbseries.ini file and adjust the section... [ANTIALIASING] EnableEdgeAA=true ...and set true to false - save the file and it's disabled. I don't know why MSAA and ENBs SSAO don't play well together, but it seems your choices and way forward are: - You could either stay with the later ENB version and experience any optimisations that those versions bring while losing MSAA to gain ENB SSAO, - Stay with the later ENBs and lose SSAO to gain MSAA - Revert to an older ENB preset and mod that does support both SSAO and MSAA at the same time which will be ENB v0.119 or earlier.

LOL PlanetEXP. Â Noted... Â I sense a "graphics realism" package in the works. Â :-) I found the semi-automated installation thread. Â Next week I'll reach out to that group (once I get a python build environment up and running) to see how I can help out. Also I'll use MO to get me back to "standard STEP:Core" (I made profiles along the way) and pull together performance specs using FRAPS. With STEP:Core I don't think I ever dropped below 60FPS until installing RealVision with ENB and even then run a respectable (and playable) 40ish FPS with a seldom drop to the 20s when standing next to a windmill while getting attacked by a dragon. Thanks

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong location(s) though it seems that discussions to automate STEP & Pack installation have generally died out. Â Having just literally spent days getting STEP up and running from a vanilla install I see no higher calling than getting this automated. Is any work being done to automate via MO?

It took about a week of off and on work though the results of installing CORE into an ultra-realistic RealVision/ENB configuration (with all 2K textures) has so far been well worth it. The issue with bFloatPointRenderTarget seems to have disappeared after installing RealVision and moving to ENB 151b (the latest of this this writing). The graphics are stunning and the game play more "realistic". I still have a random crashing issue though I suspect that this is due to an old save using different mod(s) (which is always a bad idea). I can not find anywhere where AA is enabled. It's off in Skyrim under settings and in the driver under control panel for TESV.EXE. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Thanks! It would seem that bFloatPointRenderTarget is mutually exclusive with UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics in enblocal.ini. I really want the realism (I have a high end box) so I've gone with: UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics= false in enblocal.ini and bFloatPointRenderTarget=0 in skyrimprefs.ini ; still trying to figure out what bFloatPointRenderTarget does...
-
bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 does work if you set the following in enblocal.ini Though a new and seemingly dire red warning from ENB pops up: "Patch SPEEDHACK ENBoost turned on in enblocal.ini; graphic modifications disabled." [GLOBAL] ; Recommended per STEP ENB guide here: ; https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB#tab=Quickstart ;ORIG ;UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true
-
Wow that was painful and in the end should have been obvious (as usual :-) )... The culprit was the ENB setting of: bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 I think that the instructions for NVIDIA cards is running behind as searching the forums the red ENB message telling you that because "hardware based AA has been detected, some effects have been disabled." is very prevalent. My suspicion is that once I figure out what is causing that ENB message, I should be able to re-enable bFloatPointRenderTarget without any issues. For now, S.T.E.P. Core seems to finally be working (happy dance time). Now to get CoT and BirdsHFClean (Birds and Flocks) working (which IMHO should be part of CORE).

I closed my STEP 2.2.8 profile and tried to start a game with nothing but the original files. I was surprised when turning off all of the STEP CORE mods still generated a CTD... Because the Default profile still works I think that this means that in the process of installing the STEP mod's that a change was made (to an INI file?) which is not "tracked" by MO (for example, a possible INI change that is global for all future added mods even if the mod that made the change is disabled). I'm now commenting out whatever I can find in the INI's to push them back to a "default" setting. Are there other files that might be updated "globally" (across mods and not tracked by MO)?

I presume you mean the section that discusses downloading userlist.txt and placing it in 'BOSS\Skyrim\' folder... Did that and no luck. Still the same issue. Should the opening "animation" of a New game just be a pair of red "eyes" without a body? I'm wondering if there is a larger rendering issue/missing textures... Maybe SMIM? Though at this point I am guessing...
-
Issue: Launch through MO with all STEP 2.2.8 installed. Main menu comes up with no saved games (as expected). Select New -- animation comes up of what I presume are two red eyes against a black background. Â There is no image or texture. Â Just "red eyes" against black with the typical "fog" in the bottom of the screen. At the close of the animation CTD. Launching through MO at default (no plug-ins). Fresh install using STEP Core runs fine (benchmark in progress). Â New games can be created, old saves loaded, etc... Any thoughts on next steps to troubleshoot? [Solved] Close to having 2.2.8 installed NO ADS.esp
Barvis replied to Barvis's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ah! Found the issue! Thank You Must Right Click on the mod / Information, "Optional ESPs" and then "arrow" the file down. The esp is NOT installed by default. Here is what I did in detail. So I tested by uninstalling Consistent Older People and then just installing: Consistent Older People 18 All NPCs Loose Assets from file: Consistent Older People 18 All NPCs Loose Assets-19730-1-8.7z In the "mods" pane of MO "Consistent Older People" is grayed out with a "No valid game data" red X next to it. The esp does not appear to be installed. I then: Right Clicked on the mod / Information, "Optional ESPs" and then "arrow" the file down. The esp is NOT installed by default. -

Because there are a lot of files in the Consistent Older People nexus page you just checked against the following two files (nothing else from that page): Consistent Older People 18 All NPCs (from under the optional section) Consistent Older People 18 All NPCs Loose Assets When installing in the above order, should ...Loose Assets merge or replace? -
[Solved] Close to having 2.2.8 installed NO ADS.esp
Barvis replied to Barvis's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thank you!  Odd behavior.  Just reinstalling  Smooth Blade and Sheath WITHOUT installing the optional patch gave me ADS.esp. Thoughts on where to get SPTConsistentOlderPeople.esp? I tried to edit STEP Core Patch.esp in the creator kit to remove the dependency though the kit dies at launch which I suspect would take me down a different rabbit hole... S.T.E.P 2.2.8 says: Use the "Consistent Older People 18 All NPCs Loose Assets" optional file. (Or use "Consistent Older People 18 All NPCs BOYD compatible Loose Assets" if using Bring Out Your Dead.) This did not work for me. I had to use "Consistent Older People 18" and then choose: "10 Plugin All" "20 Assets All Loose" THEN As part of the DiversePriests patch install. Unselect "DiversePriests_BringOutYourDeadPatch.esp" -

Vanilla install. The STEP core patch is giving me the following message that I am unable to find the mod for. Â Given the prevalence of ADS.esp when searching, I am seem to be missing something frequently installed though I've been through core twice now and am unable to figure out where ADS.esp is supposed to come from. Help? As an aside, ConsistentPriests and SPTConsistentOlderPeople are dependencies within STEP Core Patch 2.2.8 though they also pull in BYOD which is not a part of core. -
Bug in STEP detailed instructions (I hope this is the correct place to post). When installing the SMIM patch per S.T.E.P. be sure to not install: Textures\clutter\furniturewood01.dds Textures\clutter\furniturewood01_n.dd In line with not installing these from above when installing the Tobes Highres Textures.

I am lucky enough to have a pretty high performance rig and am generally surprised at how when new areas are loading, the CPU remains at approx 30% even after Disk I/O falls to zero for a few seconds. Â My suspicion is that textures/scripts and such are bottle-necked and that the delay between scenes is those loading/running/uncompressing. 1) Are the Mod Organizer (MO) directories ever accessed during game play or are they only used at during install/initial run? 2) Could I pre-load the uncompressed images into a large ram drive to reduce overall load times and if so, how do I pre-decompress them and "tell" Skyrim where to find them?

Fresh install of all of S.T.E.P. (can't wait for this to be automated)!  I was troubleshooting an ILS at start (the first menu never appears). Once I unselected the following ILS is no longer an issue. STEP CorePatch which depends on: SPTConsistentOlderPeople which depends on: Bring Out Your Dead It is true that Bring Out Your Dead is NOT required for STEP 2.2.8 however, I was unable to install SPTOlderPeople (which is the STEP dependency) without it. If you have bothered to read this far, I suspect that someone will point to the following and mention that I installed the wrong Consistent Older People package. https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.8    Use the "Consistent Older People 18 All NPCs Loose Assets" optional file. (Or use "Consistent Older People 18 All NPCs BOYD compatible Loose Assets" if using Bring Out Your Dead.) I have uninstalled Consistent Older People and reinstalled with the following and BOYD is still required (per BOSS). Consistent Older People 18 All NPCs Consistent Older People 18 All NPCs Loose Assets This seems to be a dependency that found it's way into the COP base. Alternatively: Were these last three mods just the tipping point of a larger problem? This machine is a 24Gig RAM 8 Proc Nvidia 770 (4G) running Skyrim on an SSD. Memory use before the ILS never exceeds 300M and the rest of the system is basically idle. Anyone have any thoughts? Next I am going to try and edit STEP to remove the dependency on SPTOlderPeople.
