  1. @skwareballz: Dynamic backpacks link on YouTube, watch it. Chesko mentioned it a few posts ago. It looks fantastic ;) @Chesko: Can't wait, keep up the GREAT work :D
  2. Hmh... A KhajiitÂ
  3. I would recommend Civilization IV with Beyond the Sword Content because you can add those Mods that are just a must-have for me (either Rise of Mankind A New Dawn OR Realism Invictus). But if someone has another good mod, please add to the list :D Civ 4 has a lot of contents with these mods that enchance gameplay, realism and tactics. Also it's much more difficult than Civ 5, but that's actually what bothers me in Civ 5. It just feels way too easy. I only tried it for a short time, thoug and I think Civ 5 has a lot of potential, don't get me wrong - but there are still a lot of things they have to change/add if they want old CIV 4 fans to prefer Civ 5. And of course, you can buy Civ 4 with all expansion packs for 10-20 euros :DÂ
  4. Actual Difficulty level in Civilization 4 differs depending on many things such as: - number of civs - map types and size - length of game - and most importantly MOD! Well, until now I played  Civ4 Rise of Mankind mod and I played the Giant map size, called TERA and the pace was SNAIL (which is even slower than marathon). I played on Monarch difficulty which is one step harder then prince. - There is really no certain tactics that can prevail because every run is different and you have to adjust according to the terrain, nearby resources etc. But my suggestion would be to found a couple of cities as early as possible (don't make to many though, because you won't be able to support them financially)! - It's also a good idea to build a small army early on and attack the capital of the nearest CIV because that way you could get to the 2nd city quicker than by making a settler and your city will actually grow (and those capital cities have quite good bonuses around). - Also try to build the Oracle so you could get that bonus tech. - Research WRITING asap so you could get the upperhand in on tech bartering and of course try not to barter WRITING. It's a  huge leverage early on. Now there is Rise of Mankinf A new Dawn and I just insatlled it today so I will check it out. I see there is even a slower pace than SNAIL, it's called ETERNITY and a lot of early buildings to actually give some meaning to early game. If you don't like that mod there is also REALISM INVICTUS but I haven't played it very much. EDIT: Oh BTW, I don't win every time, but that's not the point. I think Monarch difficulty is very good exactly because you really have to push your brains to the limits, and still it's not guaranteed that you'll finish at the top of the chart. It's hard and exciting. On prince you usually win so you don't get to strain your gray cells at all, so it's natural to get bored sooner that getting to the Renaissance era. ______________ Civilization 4, SimCity 4 and Skyrim - best games ever ;)Â
  5. I think it would. A lot of people complain that anti-malware software kills internet and overall performance, but if you set your security properties right you will barely notice the difference, I'm sure of that. And that small TRADE-OFF will definitely pay off in the long-run as your PC will be safer (NOT safe) from malicious programs. I also think that it is enough to have one active Real-time protection. For example: enable RealT. Protection for M.S. Essentials and install Avira and SpyBot S&D and disable their RT protection. Then once a week run a FULL scan of your PC - one program at a time. If you want, add another Firewall but make sure that Windows Firewall is disabled. Also I think that once you install MS Essentials, Windows Defender automatically disables itself - However I am not sure if other AV software disable Windows Defender upon installing and turning on RealT Protection, so again make sure not to have more than one active AV software running in background if you want a good tradeoff between performance and safety. Stay Safe ;)
  6. I think the combination of: 1. Firewall that comes with your internet router 2. Windows default firewall (well-configured) 3. One or two anti-malware software such as Microsoft Security Essentials AND maybe Emsisoft - Free version OR Avast (4.) and maybe SpyBot Search&Destroy for additional protection should be more than enough BUT if you want more advanced security, I still wouldn't go as far as buying a commercial firewall software YET [because you already mentioned you are a student with marginal cash-flow]. So maybe you should try free firewall software such as: - ZoneAlarm - or Comodo. They are free firewall and anti-malware softwares. I haven't used them since I installed Windows 7, but I was satisfied with ZoneAlarm while I had XP on. Of course there is no right or wrong security software as every person has his own preferences and opinions, so some may agree with me on these sugestions and some may not. Just remember that if you have two software such as M.S. Essentials and Emsisioft, Avast or AVG installed don't allow all of them to work in background (Real-Time protection). I think one Real-Time protection is enough. Just run other software(s) manually (run a full scan weekly e.g.) and when you suspect that there are maliciouse programs present on your PC. I hope this helped a bit... And REMEMBER: "User education and research is the only genuine defense against malware and online fraud", Koroush Ghazi (TweakGuides)
  7. Well thank you all for tips on Morrowind, I think I'm gonna buy it in  near future and add those mods :D
  8. I see most of people like Morrowind VERY much and I am begining to regret for not having heard of TES before Oblivion, thus never played it. Really, what do you think - how hard would it be to get used to such an old game after Skyrim and Oblivion now (considering I never played it before)??? I forgot to mention in earlier post that I also like to play Heroes III a long time ago. And my first PC Games were Hexen (or something like that); Doom 1 or 2, not sure; Total Annihilation and Starcraft As form MMOs I playe Age of Conan for two month and two month of StarWars The Old Republic because I am a huge fan of Star Wars franchize. Unfortunetly I can't find enough time to put into MMOs as they kinda require your full presence, so I rarely play them (even though I enjoy playing them).
  9. Before I found out about STEP I used this mod and I must admit I find it's nights much more extreme (in a good way) than the mod suggested by STEP. Although the problem is that indoors (meaning houses with windows) are a lot darker then they should be (You need a torch during day)! I used both mods with the most hardcore option though (Yes, I like that shivering HORROR feeling when in woods or dungeons during the night :D) Anyways I hope Pluto will finish that mod soon. But again, unless TheCompiler implements this mod in the STEProject I'm not gonna install it, so I would like to hear from him, too.
  10. Well my number one game ever is CIVILIZATION IV (with Rhye's and Fall of Civilization mod) and Simcity 4 (Heavily moded), but since Skyrim was released the memory of those games including all others started to fade rapidly :D I kinda remember having good time playing Starcraft and Warcraft series I think I also spent around 500-600 hours on Oblivion but unfortunetly I never had Morrowind That's it for my top games ;)
  11. Hi, I've searched the forum and it appears nobody mentioned this mod: ScenicCarriages Features: quoted from: https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15094 It looks quite nice and is great for hardcore / roleplayers. Now I can't test it since I forgot to install Skyrim Unplagger and now most of my mods are broken thanks to my forgetfulness and the new patch of course, but maybe someone else can test it and suggest for the next STEP update.
  12. Chesko I'm glad you are here on this forum and still active at modding. You have my vote for including Frostfall in STEP ;)
  13. I use UFO but that mod doesn't help you when followers fall behind, so I would like to add "Followers Keep Up" but I am afraid it would conflict with UFO. Do you by any chance use UFO as well?
  14. @blacksol: Thx for suggesting this mod, I've just installed it and one day when I actually get to that point I will provide feedback ;)
  15. - I don't think so, I had this problem even before both updating drivers and installing STEP (when I had mods I combined myself). It could be something wrong in settings but I just can't figure it out, and nobody seams to have a similar problem. I took that picture in Shimmermist Caves, just north-east of Whiterun. So annoying... :( EDIT: I've noticed that the graphics issue only occurs in dungeons where Falmer are found...
  16. Yes, it doesn't happen on vanilla. The strange thing is that after I installed all the textures I ran "Optimizer textures" and I didn't see this problem until now (after more then 70 hours of gameplay). All my textures are from STEP. Is it possible that I did something wrong in ".ini" files? Although it doesn't seem likely to me...
  17. Hi, I hope I can ask for help here, it's not STEP related... I've been having these graphical problems recently where some textures have blue dots. here, I will post an image ... Can anyone help me what that is, I could find more help on other forums. They just talk about blue outlines that can be fixed by turning ingame AA and AF off and forcing grom nVidia. But this isn't it. Thanks :D
  18. - Hmh... Have you tried checking program as adminstrator? - Also I hope you have backed up you old .ini-s! I'm not sure if they get deleted when reinstalling game
  19. Well, thx for all the info VOND and FRIHYLAND, but... Unfortunately for me, I could not find a way to open those savegames so I am starting a NEW GAME again. This time, I will accept STEP's suggestion (I have Hypothermia and Total realism now). I liked the other ones a lot and now I will check these two. Maybe they are good, too. ****** P.S. (not regarding this topic) I've just finished downloading and implementing the whole STEP and I would like to know if there is a TOPIC where I could report my experience with ALL the mods
  20. Hi everyone. Ok, this is my first post here, so I would like to thank you for this amazing GUIDE (S.T.E.P.). I have a question concerning this FROSTFALL. Unfortunately, before I found this epic guide I have already started playing Skyrim with Frostfall Hypothermia C.S. and Imp's more complex Needs, so I was wondering if any of you here did the same... Even though I reinstalled the game and started following the guide completely, I would like to make an exception in these 2 mods and keep them. I'm just not sure how it would fit to the rest of STEP suggested mods. I'm kinda affraid that other hypothermia and food mod will break my savegames (and I am not sure how good they are related to those I mentioned). Anyways, if some of you had experience with it, I would appr feedback, if not, well I will test it and get back to you... Thanks in forward...
