  1. Well then in that case I'll look at and through my enb nexus page to make sure it is included, tweaked, and optimized now. Â Thanks for pointing that out. I may have actually already taken care of this step earlier, as i tweaked a lot of files as suggested, just don't remember which ones anymore. Â Either way, looking into it now**
  2. I'm not sure what bsf is, so I couldnt' say, As for enhanced blood textures and Deadly Spell Impacts (which is what I presume you are speaking about), I can definitely try disabling these and going through the game for a bit to see what happens. It would make sense, as about 1/2 of the freezes seem to be when i cast a spell, which i think is a script, and apparently scripts cause a lot of the ingame issues that people have a problem with..? But yea, I can try that a little later tonight when I have a few minutes to play (though i'll be sad to see them go, as I love their visual effects). Those mods cause freezes rather than CTD's. @OP: * I take it you have optimised vanilla textures (you've stated you followed STEP to the letter)? * What texture size do you use for STEP mods? You may be coming across the (in)famous 3.1 GB RAM CTD issue. But as you say, if thats just for freezes, then it may not actually help at all....(i'll still try it later tonight none the less just in case). The only mod i don't have texture wise that I'm aware I am missing is the Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized, as the Detailed instructions say, '-Greater than 1.5GB - Do not download this mod, just use the full HRDLC.' Now, if I should go ahead and install it anyway, since it lowers the demands on my ssytem and has no negative impact visually, I'll definitely do so, just let me know! As for texture size, I believe I used the moderate sizes such as 1-2k - that being said, it's now been close to a month since I first installed the mods, and I'm not entirely positive how to see which sizes I have for what, and since there are about 100 different texture mods, I'm not even sure which ones I would need to check and potentially reinstall with lower textures. From my last thread, where I was having issues, i said that I installed with 1k textures, and I presume that what I did with most if not all of the world texture files. I actually have been using the Skyrim Performance Monitor to see if I am coming close to that 3k memory cap, and since the last few changes I made (as per my previous thread), it pretty much never goes over the 2.8. Tends to always hover right around the 2.7 mark with practically no flucation during regular gameplay. Those mods cause freezes rather than CTD's. @OP: * I take it you have optimised vanilla textures (you've stated you followed STEP to the letter)? * What texture size do you use for STEP mods? You may be coming across the (in)famous 3.1 GB VRAM CTD issue. If that's the case, OP should use ENB Boost. And I think you meant RAM, not VRAM :-P EDIT by rootsrat - Yes, I did :) Corrected. ENB Boost....I thought that was supposed to not be necessary since most of the enb's (which I am using the RealVision ENB) do that automatically..? Or should I still use ENB Boost? last i heard, the results of ENB Boost were inconclusive at best? Did that change? Thanks guys for all of the suggestions and help, I really appreciate it! Again, i'll look into trying to disable those ebt and dsi and try that later tonight unless someone tells me not to between now and then :D
  3. Provide your system spec (including CPU model and speed, amount of system RAM, graphic card model and the amount of VRAM on the card) i7 3770Â 12G RAM 7950 with 3g ram Tell us what mod manager do you use (Mod Organizer, Wrye Bash, Nexus Mod Manager, Billy's magic mod manager?) Mod Organizer Provide you load order from BOSS, including Active and Inactive plugins Boss list below: Which STEP build do you use (Performance, Baseline, Extreme) Newest Did you follow STEP instructions to the letter? Yes Tell us if you use any mods that are not part of STEP Cloaks of Skyrim and Cloaks of Skyrim - Dawnguard I am considering just de-activating this in hopes that it is causing the issue, but i doubt it would be that simple. I've never played a total of 1 hour with a crash. Â Typically more like 15-20 minutes, sometimes as few as 5. Â The only time it didn't crash with an hour was the opening section. Give us as much details about the issue as possible, for example: if it was CTD: where, when it happened? What was your cha
  4. Is there any additional information I can give to help others figure out what may be wrong?
  5. Ok, the game seems is fully stepped, and looks fantastic while it is running, and i went with the full step guide. Â The ONLY non step mod i currently have is Cloaks of skyrim and cloaks of skyrim dawnguard - i suspect that my game may be crashing due to the interaction of that with the wet and cold mod, as i've been looking at my Papyrus logs to try to se if there is anything obvious to completely untrained eyes, and all most every time, near the bottom of the log's i see a TON of 'wetquestscript' and 'wetplayeralias' and so on and so forth. Â I'll attach the last 3 logs for your perusal, but another common factor is when i cast spells, and i'm playing as a mage, so thats fairly common, the game also CTD's far more frequently than when i'm just walking around. Â Oh, and also, messing with torches and candles in or out of my inventory. Â I keep trying to play, but the constant CTD destroys immersion too much, so I'm really hoping you guys can help me work it out. Â Anyhow, logs attached below. Newest Log Tried adding my BOSS recognized plugins list, but the forum wont let me, says too many characters, and it won't let me create a new post, just adds to this one, and says, 'too many characters' again. Â I'll Add later when I'm able to. Â But to reiterate, the only non STEP mod is Cloaks of Skyrim and it's dawnguard update.
  6. As for Wyrmstooth.esp, I have no idea what that is or why it is there, or from whence it came. None the less, I updated to the new step version, changed ugrids to 7 per suggestion and recommendation, used 1k textures from Skyrim Complete Overhaul as well, and things ran smoothly for a good hour. Â It eventuallly crashed (in a dungeon of all places) but overall, if i can play for that long each time with no crash, i'm cool with that. Â The game, predictably, looks fantastic :D Thanks for all of teh assistance guys, I greatly appreciate it! **edit** Oh yea, and I figure it's worth mentioning that with the tweaks you guys suggested and the change to newest step, my FPS went up about 7-8 on average. Always nice when i was sitting at 30 previously :P
  7. With the new step guide, should I just start fresh with the new guide, or just stick with this one for now? I don't quite understand how that works, since it gets rid of some mods, and brings in others....do i just change the ones as they are changed per the 'changes to' part?
  8. Awesome, thanks for that information and clarification! As for the re-lighters, if I want to try one and then the other, is that safe to do from within my save game, or do i need to start the game brand new in order to apply one and or the other? Also, if there are still adjustments I haven't made and need to from what you guys already know, please let me know ASAP :D
  9. Huh, I'm not entirely sure where I got that setting from then, I thought it was one of the S.T.E.P. pages, but it may have been one of the notes on a mod's page or some such.  Either way, per your suggestion, this has been replaced with the 76800 you suggested* I also tweaked teh shadows in game quite a bit to be more defined as per some ini tweaks - I've no idea if these would have a serious impact on the game or not, you can check them out below: Shadow .ini settings:  I didn't realize ENB did much with that stuff, it's good to know.  I think i recall seeing the enb man just recently released a new version that is supposed to improve stability, but it's still being tested...? Yea, I got done, ran generate FNIS, dual sheath patch, then boss, then SKSE, then new game.   As for ENB, ENBSeries 0.227 is the one RealVision recommends, so it's the one I use.  As for sorting unrecognized mods... See the attached picture - i tried to put the picture here, but clicking on Insert Into Post didn't do anything? Basically, Boss doesn't show any of them as being unrecognized, they are all STEP mods.  If you want a list, just open the stop mod list for 2.2.6, as I went down it 1 by 1, installing it in the exact order (except for BOYD and the patches for BOYD.  The only non Step mods I had are Calientes, RLO, EL&FX, ApachiiSkyHair, Cloaks of Skyrim (and Dawnguard) and the compatability patches thereof, all of which i have unchecked so they aren't currently included, or activated as a plugin or what-have-you. for most textures, I believe I went with 2k versions, because I wanted the game to run and was scared of teh 4k, plus on a 1080p, i didn't think i'd be able to tell the difference enough to warrant it.  Heck, 1k is probably more than enough.  If a downgrade there will fix things, consider it done when you give the word* As for uGrids, if you say to take it out, it's gone.  I just deleted uGrids from my .ini file.  And to be on the safe side, I can just delete every save file I have, and start over one more time, but i doubt deleting save files will solve anything, but that being said, i'm not going to play those old save files, so i may as well. Did i need to delete uGrids from the file, or just lower the # to 5?  I don't even know what uGrids is, I just followed directions I found elsewhere. ***EDIT**** I ended up downgrading the uGrids to 7 instead, and the buffer changed to 64, per a guide i found while searching**** As for why it's loading a weapons rack, heck if I know :D  I felt like it was mocking me when the bottom of the last log said "[10/06/2013 - 10:20:39PM] Info: *Achievement 29 awarded - a winnar is you!*" Jerks..... I **think** you are referring to havinga check mark in all of the boxes in the 'Plugins' field in MO - which I do have them all activated/checked.  all of them that show up in there. Just to be clear, I am not especially attached to any of the mods, I just want the game to look awesome and play stable.  or at least fairly stable.  While I wait for more input, i'm going to delete said saves and rerun FNIS, Dual, and Boss and start a new files, free of uGrids and with the 76800 as my new imaxallocated setting.  Please let me know if there are any other changes/tweaks I need to make, and thanks again for your time, I realize none of you have to help me and I appreciate that this community is willing to assist me very much!
  10. Went ahead and created a second crash log, just in case it may be helpful. It may or may not be important, but just in case it is, below is my skyrim.ini file as well Skyrim.ini:
  11. Ok, got it, i had the Papyrus thing in there twice, once where i just copy pasted the above, and the first was further up the .ini file with the 0's in it. so i just dleted the part i added, and changed the values to 1, loaded SKSE, ran till it CTD'd, and the results are below. Papyrus log:
  12. Yea, there isn't any logs folder inside the Skyrim folder. Am I not supposed to be running it through SKSE executable through MO?
  13. I did this, sure enough, it crashed again...now where does one find this...Papyrus...?
  14. Hi all - been tweaking and working constantly for the last 1.5 weeks to try to get this to finally work right for me so i can play through the game for mah first time, and after turning off ApachiiSkyHairRLO and EL&FX (as well as the compatibility patches necessary with them) and Cloaks of Skyrim, i finally made it through the opening intro and through the dungeon. Â Now I'm just crashing in the outside world. Â The furthest I have made it is to the three alter/stones where you can choose if you want the mage/fighter/thief blessing, and then it crashed as i went down the hill. Â CTD each time, and I have cleaned the mods hoping that was the only remaining problem, but alas, still CTD. Â So I come to beseech your help! System Details: Intel 3770 (non-k) 12G of ram 7950 AMD, 3g ram I use Mod Organizer (after trying and failing 2x times with NMM) I don't know how to post the BOSS load order how I have seen others post it, so i went to the BOSS screen and copied the 'Recognized Plugins' I tried to work with the Extreme settings, as my system should have no problems with it. And lastly, I am using the ENB RealVision. I saw someone else post a papyrus log, but i've no idea what that even is so...yea. Â Let me know if you need more info, I will be happy to provide it as I'd love to finally play teh game with no crashes...or at least very rare ones.
