  1. Thanks for the response @sheson, I really do appreciate it. I had the impression from another thread that the video was yours, I guess I was wrong. It's late now, but I'm going to work on this later ASAP. I'll probably start by using only EVT from Skryim LE and go from there. With the amount of time I've put into this so far I'll be happy with any "not vanilla" result that doesn't break, and teaches me something for next time. If anyone has any suggestions for other mods that, preferably, support 3d LODs I'm all ears. I've not found many.
  2. I've been modding Skyrim for years, and feel like I have a handle on just about everything, but without fail every time I plan a new playthrough I have tons of issues with LOD. I try hard to RTFM and figure it out myself, but after several days it gets so frustrating that I often just use some one-click tree solution and move on, eternally disappointed. This time around I thought I couldn't go wrong if I just followed the ultra trees YouTube video so many people have been relying on for awhile now, and it almost worked!. I followed it to the letter save for not including whiterun forest borealis (personally don't care for it), and I chose to let Indistinguishable Billboards overwrite DynDOLOD resources since the very few files (4 I think) that conflicted seemed lower res in Dyn's resources. I won't drag this explanation on though, here is what the problem is, and it's probably trivial, but I just can't get it. [spoiler=White tree LOD of a completely different tree] The small dead trees are the full model. [spoiler=No LOD at all, full model pop-in.] I've read about both of these issue, but I just can't figure it out. I was very careful to follow the instructions, and it was all pretty basic stuff that I've done many times before. I didn't even get tripped up when copying over SFO trees by the very similarly named TreePineForestSnow03 and TreePineForestSnowL03. I searched the DynDOLOD log for instances of "Billboard not found" and got 52 hits, many of which seem to be fine because it found a 3D lod, but there were a few times it didn't. That's an old thread now. I don't know if it's still an issue or not. If it is would I have to convert the vanilla EVT and EVT billboards to form 44 since it contains meshes? I'm getting worn out from bashing my head against a wall on this for so long. I want to learn how to deal with these issues now so I can deal with them in the future too. Edit: Updated the full log link because I realized I posted an older one with completely different trees when I was toying around with options. I think I have the correct one linked now. Ignore the partial log I posted, it is inaccurate, but I can't edit my post. There are only 17 hits, not 52 when considering the most recent run of DynDOLOD. They can be found below: The only tree without a billboard or 3d LOD is reachtreestump01_BA992F80 according to this log. I don't actually know if this has any relevance to the problems I'm experiencing. I'm just mentioning things that stand out to me. :-/

  4. For now I'll probably just leave it alone. I've spent several days preparing for this playthrough anyway. Possibly unrelated, but I noticed that the DynDolod log is listing BSHeartland.esm as a master for DynDOLOD.esm. This is probably showing my ignorance, but why is that happening if that worldspace isn't being touched at all by DynDOLOD?
  5. Sorry for the rez, but this was a top result on google when I searched so will likely become relevant for others in the future. I want to summarize my understanding of everything so far to ensure I'm getting it all right, and give an opportunity for this thread to be updated if anything has changed. 1. The current version of DynDOLOD (2.43 at time of writing) hides BSheartland (Beyond Skyrim Bruma's worldspace) entirely so LODs can't be generated for it. If you want to generate LODs for this worldspace you'll need to remove the BSHeartland entry in DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\DynDOLOD\DynDOLOD_[GAMEMODE]_worldspace_ignore.txt. 2. If you decide to generate LOD for BSheartland (bruma) you can run DynDOLOD twice and merge the results or delete the .bto files for bruma. More detailed instructions in post #2 3. We can ignore all of this and just generate all LODs like we would normally for all world spaces including Bruma, but some objects will be missing in the distance. 4. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11010/ claims to partially fix #3 above by adding the imperial city whitegold tower back into LOD and the map. Where I'm still confused is, is that linked mod enough? Is there a sufficiently distracting lack of LOD still in this worldspace or was that really the only thing anyone was bothered by? Also, if I ignore bruma and don't generate treelod for it at all isn't it going to be hideous, or does it use all it's own custom trees with prebaked lod? I've never actually played in that worldspace yet despite all my hours in this game .

  7. With 32GB system memory, and 11 GB VRAM (GTX 1080ti) could I run full model trees in LOD4, or possibly even farther than that? SSE is LAA so I don't see it running into a memory issue, but I've not tried. How much static LOD data can I expect to be generated in a scenario like this, and what issues might I run into? If this isn't feasible, how far could I push tree LOD with these specs? Thank you!
  8. As long as TPOS overwrites everything (even seemingly minor clutter meshes in my case) the LODs generate fine @ToastyButtz.
  9. I understand your frustrations then. I've not touched any Bugthesda games until recently in over a year, so other than what the big YouTubers talk about I've been ignorant to what's going on. What you've said matches with what I would expect from Bethesda though. It's a shame. :(
  10. I see. I whole-heartedly agree that Bethesda has a responsibility to fix these issues even if most of those are fixed by mods. The reality is they never do though. If everyone waited on Bugthesda to fix things before they made mods no mods would be made. So many people build their mods with USSEP or other fixes as requirements because of this. Is there a community fix for the large reference bug your referring to? I'm familiar with fixes for most of the other bugs you mentioned.
  11. I can't speak to what it was at release, but I just recently returned to the game and played SE for the first time. I've played heavily modded for over 30 hrs and had VERY few issues. If it's a "broken mess of bugs" I've not experienced it. I've only encountered one mod so far that gave me major issues. LOOT is better than it's ever been and I've only had to manually reorder 2 mods (1 if you don't include the aforementioned broken mod). Seems like a really good time to be working on SE from a predominantly player standpoint.
  12. @Dragon Prince. That's the thing though, it is as far as I can tell. All the esps are activated. I'm using the new immersive citizens patch for TPOS created by the TPOS author. It only touches navmeshes though so I can't see it being an issue. Could having housing mods overwrite meshes from TPOS cause this problem?
