Applying True Alteration Armor Visuals to other flesh spells
DreamerSteamer posted a question in xEdit Support
Hi, Im trying to apply the visuals from TrueAlterationArmor/CuttingRoomFloor to the flesh spells of the newly released Zim's Dremora Improvements (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/86470). I copied the effect shaders from Zim's Dremora Improvements as new records into a new esp (actually duplicated them, so that had four times the shaders, since the original one used the same shaders for all four flesh spells and I want to use oak, stone, iron and ebony for these four spells). I then changed/added the ICON - Fill Texture to OakFleshWood01.dds/StoneFlesh01.dds/IronFlesh01.dds/EbonyFlesh01.dds for the four flesh spells. Then I copied the magic effects of the spells as overrides into my new esp and changed the Form ID under VMAD - Virtual Machine Adapter -> Scripts -> Script -> Properties -> Property -> Value -> Object Union -> Object v2 -> FormID to the new effect shaders and then the Form ID under Magic Effect Data -> DATA - Data -> Hit Shader to the new corresponding effect shaders as well. I then tried out the flesh spells in game with my patch active, no change, still the same dull look of vanilla skyrim (;_;) Hope this is not to complicated or specific and someone can help me with this -

Changing/Applying a Texture in NifSkope
DreamerSteamer replied to DreamerSteamer's question in Other Utilities Support
Okay thanks :) Just one more question regarding NifSkope settings, how do I make the textures visible, because the mesh is completely blank/white when I open it in NifSkope. Now the screenshot should be visible -
Hi I'm trying to change a texture for the mod Mage Backpack by Tumbajamba (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31191) in NifSkope. Specifically I want to change the texture of the banner on the back, which is taken from the mythic dawn banner, to the texture of the banner of the college (textures\architecture\winterhold\winterholdbanner01.dds). The problem is, that the mesh originally takes the the part of the texture which is right in the middle, where the mythic dawn symbol is, however the college/winterhold symbol is in the upper right corner of the texture (I'm using the one from Designs of the Nords - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13429) which results in, the texture not being properly displayed in game, because the mesh does not use the part of the texture I want it to. Does anyone know how I can change the mesh, so that it takes the part of the texture in the upper right corner? I've attached a screenshot of the missplaced texture in game. Greetings DS

bug STEP v2.10.0 Official Bug Reports
DreamerSteamer replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Which version of Ruins Clutter Improved is included in the STEP Compilation? Because Enchanting Candle Meshes Improved (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53638/?) is incompatible with the latest version (2.9) of RCI according to its mod page. The incompatibility is visually pretty noticable in game. The way I see it, it's again the candle meshes (candles01.dds, candles01_g.dds, candles01_n.dds) which are from RCI version 2.9 and are incompatible with Enchanting Candle Meshes Improved. -

I downloaded the Re-Defined Dungeons 1024x1024 optional file which does not contain those textures -

Yes the meshes are in the compilation. I did use "replace", just reinstalled it once more. I just tried it only with LAL and the STEP Compilation as the only two mods active. Still the same issue. And yes, the meshes \meshes\clutter\common\candlelanternwithcandle01.nif \meshes\clutter\glazedcandles01.nif \meshes\clutter\glazedcandlesstatic02.nif are in the Compilation, it is the textures that I am missing \textures\dungeons\candles01.dds \textures\dungeons\candles01_g.dds \textures\dungeons\candles01_n.dds Did you find these three textures in the STEP Compilation? Cause I didn't find them in the mod directory after the installation, I also looked through the archive by using 'manual' during the installtion and didn't find them in the Core Compilation directory where they should be. I Just looked into the STEP Compilation Files.txt candles01.dds Ruins Clutter Improved (not included, overwritten by SMIM) candles01_g.dds Ruins Clutter Improved (not included, overwritten by SMIM) candles01_n.dds Ruins Clutter Improved (not included, overwritten by SMIM) So it looks like, they are indeed not included and that this is the way it should be "\/(o_O)\/" Maybe I'm getting this wrong, but the STEP Compilation should be at the bottom, overwriting every other mod from the STEP Guide right? It's not that anything is broken for me right now, I can add the missing textures manually from RCI, it's just really confusing and also a bit annoying. Also seems strange, that we are apparently doing the exact same thing and getting different results. I would really like to stick to STEP as my baseline for my setup, it just looks like, I'm doing something wrong. -

The meshes are: \meshes\clutter\common\candlelanternwithcandle01.nif \meshes\clutter\glazedcandles01.nif \meshes\clutter\glazedcandlesstatic02.nif They are from RCI and are provided by the STEP Compilation, though in my case the proper textures for these meshes as mentioned above are not, which originally left me with the wrong ones from SMIM. I might try redownloading and reinstalling the compilation. Btw did you use the Normal Res version? -

I usually tested it in the Bannered Mare, I also tried Shriekwind Bastion. I tried both versions of the compilation Core and Extended (Normal Res - 2.10.0a). No change. I also just extracted the candle textures from RCI and put them manually into the mod directory of the compilation, which fixed it. The Textures are: \textures\dungeons\candles01.dds \textures\dungeons\candles01_g.dds \textures\dungeons\candles01_n.dds These textures are in SMIM but they look different to the ones in RCI and don't work with RCIs meshes. -
bug STEP v2.10.0 Official Bug Reports
DreamerSteamer replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
So I looked into it and the meshes for the glazed candles are in the STEP Compilation and they don't overwrite meshes in another mod from the STEP Guide, NifSkope shows me a texture path that leads to three textures which are provided by SMIM, these textures aren't overwriten either. Removing the meshes from the Compilation "fixes" the issue but gives me ugly vanilla meshes. I also refreshed my INI settings and followed the instructions for BethINI. still nothing worked. Help :( -

Once I installed the STEP Compilation at the end of the STEP Guide I got the famous black bars on candles, which I think originate from Ruins Clutter Improved. It could be, that I messed up the installation of another mod, resulting in this mess, but I read every instruction and in case of a FOMOD I double check all the options before installing. It looks just like in this screenshot https://rs756.pbsrc.com/albums/xx205/hatchback_01/20170304110810_1.jpg?w=280&h=210&fit=crop PS This is not my screenshot, but the problem is the same -

Hi ^^ The way I see it, because of the installation order, WSCO - Windsong Skyrim Character Overhaul is overwriting all the textures from Superior Lore-Friendly Hair, making it redundant. Also the FOMOD Instructions for Immersive Citizens-AI Overhaul seem to be outdated, it shows options in the installer that are no longer available (for example there is no Cutting Room Floor or Provincial Courier Service option in the current version of the installer). Greetings DS
