Good question. I'll look into that and if so move it up. I looked at the "plugins" tab of ModOrganizer (which I believe reflects my load order).  In there, I have two ESPs that are from Immersive Armors.  The first, at No 52 in priority, is "Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp".  The second, at No. 119 - the bottom of my list, is "Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp". The second one has a broom icon next to it and when I hover over it, I get a message that states: "This file is a dummy! It only exists so that the BSA with the same gets loaded..." I have MO extracting all BSAs included in the mods that I've added to Skyrim - not the ones that come with the actual game, DLCs and official patches, just the mods that I've added with MO.  So technically, I don't even need this, as I am running with loose files instead of the BSA, right? In either case, I only have 119 plugins total (at this point), so I don't think this is the issue.

Anyone having trouble getting the MCM menu to appear? Â I just (in the last few weeks) reloaded Skyrim and my mods. Â With my first character it was working, started a second (I'm using ModOrganizer) and the menu simply refuses to work - now for either profile. The mod shows up in the plugins, BOSS and Test5Edit recognize it, I even see Ralof with Stormcloak Lord's armor (or something) during the cart scene, then after Alduin attacks poof....no IA armors. I've blown away profiles, removed, redownloaded and reinstalled the mod, made sure that SKSE and SkyUI were proper (other MCM menus are showing - like Dynavision, Unnamed Enchants and 8 others...just not IA), nothing seems to work. I've contacted the author via the Nexus, but he's not responded yet, so here I am again, asking for pointers/help. Â (I'm using STEP 2.2.7, and then I add a few things at the end for better characters and gameplay...like UFO, UNP, SkyRe.)

Is this process (adding the names) outlined in the Wiki? Â If so, I may add them as well.

I can confirm this: Unique Region Names v5 (the latest) will prevent the house in the Pale from being built.

Hearthfire house in the Pale not visible when built

The guide that I linked to is my own - I wrote it last weekend. It's a reminder to me how I did what I did. But you are indeed right about the uGridsToLoad setting. As you can read on my blog, here, I was having a great deal of stability issues and discovered several threads on this very forum, thanks to GophersVids, that made me think of the 3.1GB barrier. Couple that with the what I now know that uGrids actually does and I saw that I was knocking on that 3.1GB barrier every time I loaded Skyrim. So since Monday evening, I've been running with uGrids set back to 5 and stability has returned and frustration has settled. But, back to the subject of the thread: You're right again. Having Unique Region Names loaded is preventing me from build the house in the pale. I disabled it in ModOrganizer and now I can build the house with no issues. URN is such a small thing in the grand scheme of things. I'll live without it to get my second house. Thank you for you reply and the cure for my only real outstanding issue with running Skyrim with my modded configuration. I hope that this help someone else in the future. Now to blog about it. :) Birds and Flocks came up a lot - and I think it now even has a Hearthfire version because of it. When I tried to find the culprit mod before (about two weeks ago), I broke my mod configuration so badly that Skyrim wouldn't start (I was using NMM then, I've switched to MO now and I'm loving it.) As it turns out, it was Unique Region Names - but I never came across that in my research and I didn't get that far in my search a few weeks back. Now, thanks to this forum (and WilliamImm), and MO, I know and I've disabled URN in favor of building the house. :) Thanks for responding and helping! -
Hearthfire house in the Pale not visible when built
p4ck3tl055 replied to p4ck3tl055's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I did several Google searches and found a lot of people reporting interference with one mod or another with one house or another. Nothing that I found solved the problem, which is why I ended up here. My modded configuration is 90% STEP, with only a few mods added for weathers, lighting and bodies at the end. It is obvious to me that the STEP guide has had a lot of time and effort put into it. This forum has people with much more modding experience than me and a lot more game time (Skyrim anyway) than me. Combine those facts together and you can see why I've used STEP as the basis for my modding configuration an why I came here looking for answers. It just surprises me that, with other people using the same guide as a basis for their modded configuration, that I was the only one having this problem. Hopefully, the solution to my issue will help others how who might struggle with the very same issue in the future. EDIT: Typos. WOW, my dyslexia is in high gear tonight! -

Help me understand BOSS BOYD esp issue
p4ck3tl055 replied to Quahogs's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I don't have EVERY STEP mod installed - I did install nearly every "core" mod and I added a few of my own...just shy of 200 in total. Where exactly is the CTD happening? Â While Skyrim is loading or after you see the main menu? -

I have every ESM and ESP in my list checked. But I have my full compliment of mods installed at this point. If you've worked through the entire mod list on the guide, I would check every one of them and see if that helps. Be sure to do the same for the "BSA" tab as well. -

p4ck3tl055 replied to Quahogs's question in General Skyrim LE Support
This is the exact same load order I have and I do not CTD. I believe this is caused because BOYD is disabled and BOSS can detect the presence of the BOYD patch - even though it's disabled. This is what happened to me until I got all of the mods loaded and enabled everything at the end. Â If they are both disabled, then I would ignore this warning from BOSS. I'm going to go out on a limb here an guess maybe one of the mods is borked or it's some other mod/issue causing it. Â If Skyrim will start and run with both of these mods disabled, I would re-install them both and see if that helps. Â Beyond that, I'm out of ideas. -

I'll try to explain this - and I'll ask others to correct me where I go astray. I am by no means an expert when it comes to MO, but I do have it working for me. On the left of the MO window is the list of mods that you have installed. If they are checked, then they are active as well. On the right-hand side is the set of tabs, two of which are labeled "ESP" and "BSA". When you activate a mod, if that mod contains ESPs and BSAs, they will be listed on these tabs. At present, MO doesn't automatically activate these components, relying on you to make them active by checking them in these tabs. By default, the load order is controlled (mainly) by the order in which you install the mods. MO, by itself, doesn't control the load order, nor does Skyrim. This is where BOSS comes in. When you run BOSS, it looks at the list of mods you have, compares it to a master list and then re-orders your mod list - you can see this by paying attention to the ESP and BSA tabs. The way I do it is install a mod, activate it on the left, then check for new ESPs and BSAs on the right, which are usually placed at the bottom of each tab. Not all mods will have them, but some will have both. Once I get all the mods I want installed, I run BOSS to set the load order. I'm not familiar with the SOS patch for CoT, so I can't comment on that. Â I can however point you to the two videos that taught me about MO: Beginner's Guide: Advanced Guide: Again, I hope I helped. -

I stand corrected...previous reply edited to correct my mistake. But in any event, the CTD is caused by the patch being active when the mod the patch is for is not installed and/or active, correct? And the BOSS warning is generated to let you know of this situation. -

p4ck3tl055 replied to Quahogs's question in General Skyrim LE Support
When you installed the Diverse Priests mod, you told the installer to add an additional mod/patch that requires another mod called "Bring Out Your Dead". If the patch from Diverse Priests is active but Bring Out Your Dead is not installed or active (which I believe is your case), then Skyrim will crash to the desktop. There are several (a total of 4, I think) patches that can be installed from Diverse Priests from various mods that will cause the same thing. The solution is to not install the patches or to install the additional mods (The additional mods are in section "2.M, Gameplay" of the guide.) If you're trying to run Skyrim at the "Benchmark" spots of the guide and getting this CTD, just disable the additional patches (deactivate their ESP) until all of the mods are installed. I ran into the same problem, this is how I worked around it. BOSS will still report the error, but if the patches are disabled, you should be fine. (At least in my experience.) Hope this helps. -
Hearthfire house in the Pale not visible when built
p4ck3tl055 posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
I've used the STEP guide to mod my Skyrim setup (I even created a guide, mainly for myself, to document what I did.) and I've enjoyed it very much. Â But I have one or two nagging problems. Â The one I'm trying to solve at the moment is: I've just recently gotten into house building. Â My first house was Lakeview Manor and it's better than 95% complete (I'm missing a few trophies.). Â As I wanted to build another, I decided to build my second house in the Pale, Heljarchen Hall - the one you get from Dawnstar's Jarl. So off I go, perform the quests and buy the plot of land. Â I travel to the plot, find the materials, drafting table, workbench and anvil and commence to build the "basic house". When I turn around to see the house, I see....nothing. The drafting table seems to think I've built something, the workbench seems to think I've built something, as they both offer me their respective options for the next steps. Â But I see nothing, nor can I find anything. So my question is two-fold: Â Has anyone else using the STEP guide run into this? Â If so, can you point me toward the solution? If you're curious about which mods I used or how I used them, you can refer to my guide here- it's a pretty detailed account of the last two or three days of modding efforts. Â I'm actually hoping that the guide will help us figure out what the problem is. FYI: I have saves from before I purchased the land, so if I need to fall back to one of those, I can. Thanks in advance for any help offered.
